I used these buttons to fix my switch after it got dropped. The trigger buttons were stuck but this video tutorial and kit was such an easy and quick fix. Now it's like brand new again and has some custom buttons. 😁

Very nice video. Tips for first timers, that thin bezel by game card is a very weak point. Avoid putting too much stress over that area or it will break. It happened to mine. Luckily it didn’t snap off. So after I put it together it’s hard to notice. But still... you can’t unsee that

Yup. I just snapped that part 5 minutes ago lol. I'm not too worried about it because I was very indecisive on whether I should replace my shells with another color, or just get a skin. Replacing them it is

I had to take mine apart and replace the button pad, and this video was AMAZING. Thank you so much! The little red circles highlighting the screws was great and was a perfect time to pause the video. This was perfect...my Switch is back up and running and I saved $250 not having to buy a new one!

Joy con original ones kind lock in in places when closed. Screw just secured it in place but if don’t kind of lock in place is due time thing bent or not line up correctly
So, which of these Switch lite replacement buttons would compliment the Atomic Purple Switch Lite console. I think my new joycon thumb grips modules will be white for sake of simplicity.

Please help me I change the shell and buttons and toggle stick and now the left toggle stick only goes up and down I switch it back to the old one and it does the same thing there was nothing wrong with it it work just find it just was chipped
What is the reasons for the minus button not to work?
Note i open it to replace the left analong stick which it works but for some reason the minus stopped working and there no cables for it, i press the button on the board carefully and its still not working.
Any ideas?
Only my l bit is broken is it necessary to remove any parts apart from that beforehand
I had to stop because I had a bad screw for the charger port and I made it worse and stripped it so I just put it all back together 😂 It looks really cool I like the video just sucks I couldn't go forward with it

Great video, until it got to putting it back together.
You need to either put it back together in the same order that you took it apart, to make keeping track of which screws go where easier, or you need to clearly show which screws go where.
I ended up having to download the video and play the teardown section in reverse.
Also probably should have cleaned the old thermal paste off & reapplied fresh paste.
The video makes it look easy. Some of the screws that where in there where very hard to turn to get the main board out. The screws don't have a head to work with so they don't come out. Now I am sitting with a mess of screws and buttons I need help with lol
Do you mean the screws stripped? Or the screws themselves don't have the + head?

Asking because I’m genuinely curious. Why do you make the plus, minus, home, and capture buttons for the switch lite in different colours but not the switch?
We are upgrading the Switch buttons set, most of the colors are not with the extra 4 buttons, we haven't updated the pictures because there are still some old stock there

Hello I have a problem where it dropped and the buttons completely stopped working they started working once but later stopped and if I slap the switch or drop it from an inch height it glitches or hangs up and I have to restart it it makes me so sad is there an easy fix for this

Hi, I've got a new Switch Lite but the ZR button is not working correctly. I have to press hard for the console to register the input, even then sometimes it doesn't pick it up. Will this tutorial help me? Do I need a replacement or can I just clean it?
If your Switch Lite is new, we suggest you ask for a replacement from the store
I have a question, what happens when a Philip screw is damaged and it's hard to screw out?
if you're still having trouble, what worked for me was leveraging the more durable metal vs the softer metal of the screw and just. indenting enough into the screw until i had enough ability to turn it. def replace the screw with one of the spares they give you with the kit

You should indicate that your kit does not come with tweezers or just include them cos your own tutorial has them. Misinformation can lead to unrepairable damage.

The heaven blue is a bit similar, just a bit.
Probably late but a contrasting color would be the “passion red”
People before continuing, if any of your screws start to strip, stop immediately, the ends of the screwdrivers can break and strip the screws on accident, I sadly now know from experience

@@ExtremeRate Same thing happen to me. I didn't replace anything else, just buttons. And the screen turns on but is black and nothing is visible I can only have sound
i had the same problem. i went back in and i connected all the things that pop up i rechecked and then also the cords that popped in i double checked. put it back together and it worke

No, then you will just need to take off the ZL ZR first, and then the L R, and then replace them

How many times did that little spring on the bumpers shoot off and almost get lost for y’all. An all around pain in the ass for sure. Smh. Not to mention the button setup didn’t even come with a replacement for the broken plastic piece i needed. I’ve seen Lego sets with stronger material

I had to replace joysticks and so far this video has been fantastic
I mean buying a Switch Lite was probably a bad decision if you weren't willing to open it up and educate yourself in case you got drift issues, you were better off buying an OG or or OLED
Now I am worry about the other two joy cons set I order if they be defective too ugh
At least I can tear down and put together joy cons in 20mins now

I got so excited that I found this video. Started my project. opened it and found a stripped screw head I can't remove. Now I can't switch out my buttons. Why me!?

Yes if the paste got dry or fall during the installation, then you need to replace them at the same time

I did it. Worked just fine. Just keep track of which screws go where. There are black screws on the external case. Inside there are long kinda gold screws and shorter silver screws.
Maaaann this sssuck!! I was so hyped about changing my buttons, really happy about that. But then 2 screws were stuck and just won't come out, making me unable to change my buttons….. I was only able to change the L, ZL, R, ZR buttons. My day is ruined and my disappointment is immeasurable.... But great video tho, if only my screws didn't screw with me
I DIT IT!!! But I messed up my right joy-con, now it just goes up, and there's nothing I can do, so I had to buy a new joy-con and when it arrives, install it and that's it. But I did it! And now I have great buttons. Thanks!!

Because it's not a good idea to rip the original grips off and then put on a new one, the new grips will comes off easily.

Got the black joy con in today looks find I find out after I get more joy cons in. Black joy con with glossy green with pure green led. Also order scarlet red with glossy blue button with blue led.

Jesus Christ use a pick or something to open it up. That's common knowledge when it comes to this stuff. Looks really unprofessional when you are struggling to open it with your nails.
Believe me, use your nails will help you protect the shell better.
