I remember the first time I went through Mt. Silver. I was expecting a legendary, but I see this guy looking like a fisherman, so I talk to him. The "......." threw me off so much, and the champion theme started playing. I saw that Pikachu's level and how it completely overpowered mine and went,"WAIT YOU....RED NO WAIT I'M NOT READY PLS."
for some reason, I always pictured reds pokemon resting in the environment around him and when he needed a pokemon, he simply motioned for them and they would come, ie. Blastoise comes out of a pond or Charizard swooping down from a ledge.
"There is a place, far from here, beyond the Indigo Plateau, beyond the civilization we humans have built, where only the most dangerous Pokemon roam, all but the strongest and bravest avoid it, and even some of them rarely return. Their wild and savage nature best all but the mightiest. But it is said that those who survive the journey will come face to face with a mountain, a mountain upon which the peak pierces the sky. A mountain that goes on for what seems like an eternity and at its summit, he waits. He waits for those worthy enough merely to face him. He waits for those who dare believe they are flawless, only to be taught how mistaken they have been. He humbles those who believe that just because they have bested the gyms, they are untouchable. He shows those who have attained the title of champion how empty that title is. His name is Red. And he does not lose." - Blue
> I'm an old fan; > First game: pkmn yellow; > Trainer name Ash, and I recreated his team, because, you know, I was a kid and a huge fan of the cartoon; > Second game: pkmn gold > Trainer name Eden, here I played my first personal adventure, my first original team; > First victories, loses, I learned the game's rules, I grew with my game and my team; > Mt. Silver, I saw this fisherman, strange > Me: "who is this guy?" > Red: "..." > Fear... he couldn't be... he was my first character; > decimation > curses, rematch, loses, new team, strategy (I still remember my Misdreavus anti-snorlax) > Finally, Victory You could say "It's only a game", and my answers is "yes", but it is one of my favourite childhood memory.
Red isnt that hard because his team is crap (well it's also Ash's team, thats why) If he had a good team at the same level it would be nearby impossible to beat him without cheating...
J. Ackermann Heh, you've obviously never fought Red. He's one of the hardest trainers, if not the hardest trainer in any main Pokemon game. Especially on Crystal, which is where I fought him. (He'd be either scaled up or would be easier on heart gold or soul silver, so those don't count.)
Eden mangast I remember when I fought Red, but Crystal was my first game, I got Red next, so it wasn't too nostalgic of a battle, but because I soloed with my starter, resulting in a level 96 Typhlosion for the battle, I revered him as my last and most powerful challenge, the last trial before I could truly be the most powerful. And I was determined to take him down. ... Heh. I don't think Ive met a single enemy in any game that gave me the same feeling as that battle did. It was just so well created, such a powerful figure placed in a silent character. I'm readying my team to fight him in HeartGold (Yes im late, I know.) Not only that, but I've gathered two survivors from my FireRed Nuzlocke and my Sapphire Nuzlocke to join two Pokemon from HeartGold and battle Red and finish this. That is, until Sun and Moon take place, which is when I will BE TAKING HIM DOWN FOR GOOD WITH A POKEMON FROM EVERY REGION EXCEPT KALOS WORKING TOGETHER TO FREAKING KILL HIM FOR GOOD.
Eden mangast at first i played soul silver not knowing who red was so when I got to the top of mt. Silver and saw him i was confused because he had the champion theme so I thought oh is he a champion then I played fire red and I saw the character model of fire red and thought omg this is who I beat in soulsilver and then got over excited
Hmpf, I don't know what all the fuss is about, I beat him easily at my first try. Wait no... Oh wait nevermind, I just remember it was the other way around.
+Casper Fransen I actually crushed him the first time I battled him. Granted, by the time I played one of the Johto games (in this case HG/SS), I had already become very good at Pokémon.
Maybe she freaked, fainted, revived, fainted again, and then finally got Red's pokemon healed before fainting again. 'Cause, you know, The UNBEATABLE TRAINER got BEAT.
I check Mt. Silver, looking for a possible legendary. I soon find a random fisherman. I was like, "What the heck are you doing here?" Then when I talk to him, he says nothing, just "... ... ..." It then says, "Red has sent out Pikachu!" I didn't know who Red was because I was little and didn't play the first game, so I went to my cousin and told him about Red. He was just starring at me and said, "...Good luck," and kept playing Fossil Fighters on his DS as I sat back down, looking at my Gameboy as it showed a crazy leveled Pikachu. I lost the match two minutes later. What? You expected my saying something about some epic battle? Nah. I got my ass beat.
Me:Red! I'm here to kick ass and chew bubblegum! But im all out of gum! Game:You pissed off red. May Arceus have mercy on you after he beats your hopeless ass.
Me: I know your one weakness. Red: ...? Me: Since we are on a mountain the best way to win is to eliminate the competition. Pidgeot use Whirlwind! *Pidgeot blows Red off the mountain* Me: That takes care of him...wait why do I hear boss music? * I turn around to see Red sitting on his Charizard while giving me a look a death* Me: Well it looks like I'm gonna have to fight after all. Go Raichu!!! ...To be continued...
@@dakotamatheson9884 next time, when you wanna eliminate competition, use a gun maybe? Not legal, but blowing pepole off mountains sure isn't eighter, thatd attempted murder 🤣
@@trueredpanda1538 good idea! *hacks an inteleon into the game and Snipe Shots Red's Charizard having him fall off because without Charizard he has nothing to sit on*
I remember Red on Mt. Silver like: Keeping my hand on my starter Pokémon, who was shivering a little, the both of us walked forward and followed where the snowy pathway lead us. We stopped as we noticed... a set of steps made from stone? Looking up, my eyes widened at what I am seeing... A Pokémon Trainer, nowhere than a few years older than me, was standing there, gazing at the land of Johto in front of him, a Pikachu on his shoulders. He had no protective snow gear on. He only wore a pair of thin blue jeans and a short-sleeved black shirt, and a red vest with a white vertical stripe. The most notable feature on him was his red hat. I then remembered who he was. It was Red! The famous Pokémon Trainer that had defeated Team Rocket three years before, the Champion known around both Kanto and Johto! The one that has gone missing without any ways of contact, no one even knew where he was located. Not the Gym Leaders of Johto, not the Gym Leaders of Kanto, not Professor Elm, not Professor Oak, not the professor's grandson: The Viridian Gym Leader: Blue Oak... not even his own Mom in Pallet Town knew where he was. Yet here... Red was here of all places? I took a step forward, and the ears of Red's Pikachu twitched. It turned its head and noticed me from behind. The Pikachu made a sound to his Trainer that broke the silence, and only then did he turn his head towards me. I wanted to tell him that he has friends and family who are worried about him back in the world at the base of this mountain, no away from this mountain, but the words became stuck in my throat. My starter Pokémon only looked at the Pikachu in the eye, when I noticed this, I instantly found out what was going to happen, for the Pikachu's small red cheeks began to spark. Red merely raised his right arm as his Pikachu used it as a small walkway before landing all fours into the snow. The Pikachu let out a somewhat excited cry, it knew that my partner was strong, it knew that my entire Pokémon team was strong. Because of this, it wanted to fight. Only then did Red move his hat up slightly, revealing his brown eyes. It was weird, they looked emotionless, as if someone was controlling him, yet... he has a mind of his own... The Pikachu squeaked in excitement again, it must have not battled for quite a while. When I looked up at the Trainer, who was at the top of the small stairway, again, his brown eyes bore into my own. The first rule of Pokémon battling instantly came into my mind: When two Trainers meet each other's eyes, they must battle! Taking one last deep breath, I took out a Poké Ball from my belt and threw it ahead of me, revealing the first Pokémon I caught with the help of my starter. To my surprise, Red smiled, but only slightly. He merely raised his arm to touch the rim oh his hat, and thus, the final battle begins...
alawey vc 87 its basically permadeath for your pokemon if one gets knocked out in battle then you gotta release it also you can only catch one pokemon per route and that pokemon has to be the first one you see unless youve caught it before in which case kill it then keep searching. also no catching legendaries.
How to properly fight Red: 1. Have pokemon within a similar Level Range. (So it's not only harder, but proves an actual challenge.) 2. Fight him with the opposites of each type he has (Ground to Electric, Water to Fire, etc.) 3. Turn down game music, play this instead. 4. Enjoy the epic battle.
I always try to win with my pokemons at level 50 or less, it's hard as shiiiiieeet, takes a couple of tries and a bit of luck, but when you beat him you feel like a fucking master
Game of Thrones : The Movie with... the best music... from TH-cam and Pokemon... Will you be ready for this ? And remember : Winter-Pikachu is coming... It could be great, no ? x)
Because he's you.... I thought that was the whole point. Red is the "average" trainer that played red/blue. You're practically playing yourself. So, congratulations.
I just realized that in most of the battle themes of pokemon on youtube, the comments talk about the trainers or pokemon pretty lightly, but whenever it comes down to red, people immediately get serious, because Red makes the title of champion seem empty, the besting of the gyms like they were nothing, and made you humbled. People get scared of Red, right fully so, because he was them in a past life, the strongest they had ever been. (assuming you played RBY ofc XD)
Red truly WAS the strongest id ever been We had like 8 kids with red/blue at our daycare in the 90s We all battled competatively, and traded. We all knew the rare candy glitch so we all had lvl 100s Was the most intense id ever been with a trainer I dod have silver a gold later in life but by then i had no one to play with So running into red was AMAZING
+digitalskill if he comes back i hope he becomes what Sephiroth is to kingdom hearts. An optional boss that is several times more difficult than the final boss
*At midnight* *Stands before Red* *Looks at lvl 60-70 Pokemon* *Looks at full inventory of revives and full restores* *Looks at Red* *Thinks* Fuck, if he is anything like I ended with in Yellow, I'm screwed *Talks to Red* *Two hours, three bags of chips, four pairs underwear, four sweat rags, five mountain dews later* My last pokemon... Typhlosion! Fire Blast! KO Venusaur! Alright down to the last pokemon... Fuck Blastoise! *One hour later, all revives and full restores have been used.* Blastoise is almost dead, I just used my last Full Restore and Revive, annnnnnnd Water Blast... survive...survive...YEEEESSSSSS!!!!! 1 hp left! End it now! Typhlosion! *misses* FUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"I remember it like it was yesterday. The time after he left, I mean. Oh it was a national hysteria. No champion had ever simply abdicated from his position, let alone do it by wandering into the insanely dangerous ridge with only his team late one night. Considering he had taken the crown from Green not even a fortnight earlier... They looked for him everywhere of course. Green had to have known, but never let on, perhaps Red made him promise silence. They must have spent a fortune. But after several months, it became clear that Red did not want to be found. Red always...had a way with Pokemon. Like he trusted them more than he trusted his fellow humans. Perhaps rightfully so...he had many admirers but few friends. But they say if you go deeply enough into the Silver Mountains, far off in Johto, and listen into the wind, you can hear claps of thunder, and the cries of a roaring Charizard... Laughs Then again that is just the ramblings of an old man." ~Samuel "The Pokemon Professor" Oak, Ph.D., excerpt from Looker Report Cold Cases, 29th October 1997, 1332 KST Missing Persons Case No. 00368921, Kanto Champion Red
Pedro Achinelli Your spelling of "orchestral" reminded me of the word "equestrian" which has to do with horses. So i smushed them together and imagined that "orquestal" was a word which described an orchestra made of horses.
Red is just... The ultimate trainer! He is the one who actually accomplished every task possible! He caught every pokemon, he beat the elite 4, he destroyed his rival AND he became the greatest Pokemon trainer ever! I always got chills when I had to face him... It was like facing my previous better self!
When I first listened to this I closed my eyes and imaged this: A rogue Mewtwo climbing Mt.Silver only to reach the top and discover that all legendaries had gathered there. As the music becomes more intense he looks upon all his fellow legendaries as he knows that this is his final battle, to prove once and for all that he truly is the strongest of them all. With Mega Stone in hand, he charges into battle. As he blasts away all who stand before him he is left face-to-face with Arceus, the one true legendary of all Pokemon. Mega evolved (Into X, more natural and fitting) and staring it down, they duke it out. As the music becomes quieter, Arceus now defeated, and the sun rising, he knows that he is truly the very best like no one ever was... until a shadow, a ominous and peculiar shadow covers his body. *Now play the video* A red cap, a Pikachu by his side and a Pokeball gripped tightly, the figure of a young boy stands before him. He lifts his cap, Mewtwo prepares himself for his last battle. Gazing into his eyes, the young boy says "..." and so begins the Ultimate Battle: Champion of all Pokemon vs Champion of all Trainers. Let your imagination go wild.
Dear Diary: HIM I was told about Mt Silver by good old Professor oak, i was looking forward to catching some more pokemon and filling the pokedex. However, I was wondering about where red was, my old character, after all i had see blue and knew red existed, since i had met his mom, but i didn't question it. I climbed the mountain, soon realizing that something important was at the top. Soon, i reached the top, and saw a player sprite, quite like Gold's. I was looking forward to a trainer battle, wondering why somebody was on a mountain that i had only been allowed to climb after beating the elite four in 2 regions... i had no idea what was coming next... I spoke to the person, and all i got was "..." i was confused, but only when i saw the name did i piece it together...'Red'... I was terrified, this was Red, me in pokemon yellow, the legendary pokemon trainer who caught mewtwo, dismantled team rocket and caught nearly all 151 pokemon. Considering his pikachu was in it's 80's, i didn't want to know what levels his others were, but i battled it anyways... my togekiss got destroyed, and after Red healed, my umbreon didn't stand a chance... i sent out typhlosion, hoping earthquake would give it the edge, and i beat the pikachu, but next was lapras, so i used ampharos, they faired much better, and dragonite could take care of venusaur... but died to poison, typhlosion finished it off, and out came charizard, which beat ampharos. i was down to a weakened typhlosion and an out levelled gyarados. While Red still had 2 pokemon, and a max revive, which he used on that level 88 pikachu... shiny gyarados was demolished, a healed typhlosion beat pikachu, crit hit, but charizard and espeon were too much...
I remember how impressed i was with red. It is very rare that even in competition, anyone gets passed my frontline soldier which in Gold was Nidoking/Tyranitar depending on which region i was in. Red forced me to use my 3rd pokemon, Rydon. I was so impressed with him, I fought his last pokemon, Charizard with my Typlosion out of respect. Not even Blue or Lance got past my first pokemon.that had NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE. I had a similar experience with cynthia. She managed to get past my frontline soldier Aggron which i was Very impressed with, so i fought her garchomp with my Infernape out of Respect.
so many memories of losing constantly and then coming back each time better and better until I finally triumphed. victory hinged on my Mewtwo hitting Blizzard successfully so it was a shot in the dark
I remember when I first battled Red in my Gold version. I had a whole team of nothing but level 100 Mews, I didn't know what a Figthing type move was. I got to the top of Mt. Silver, and figured something was coming up. I shrugged, knowing my Mews could stomp anyone that was foolish enough to get in my way. After all, they had devastated both all the NPCs and everyone on my block. The champion music started up, and I knew this was supposed to be a hard battle. But again, I didn't heed the warnings and tossed out a Mew. Out came Pikachu. I was surprised at it's high level, but shrugged again and began blasting through Red's team. Pikachu and Charizard went down, but then Red tossed out Snorelax. I laugh at this beast, and hit it with a Psychic from my Mew, figuring it'll be an easy win. To my shock, Snorelax is barely harmed by Psychic, the move that never failed me before, and Red proceeds to use Amnesia. I use Zap Cannon this time, but once more it deals almost nothing, and Red retaliates with a Rest. Thanks to Gen 2 mechanics, the paralysis from Zap Cannon is gone. I desperately start trying to deal damage to the Snorelax, but no matter what I do I can't hurt it. Meanwhile, Red has fallen into a Rest/Snore combo, resting as soon as Snorelax wakes up. In no time, my first Mew falls. I'm shocked, no-one had EVER beaten even one of my Mews before. Not an NPC, no-one on my block, not even anyone in my school. Yet here's this NPC that managed to beat one of my beloved Mews. I tossed out a second mew, hoping to beat it. But again, my second Mew falls. This happens two more times, and I'm in shock and awe. This one snorelax, this single, level 75 Snorelax, managed to beat not one, not two, but FOUR of my Mews. A feat that no-one had ever accomplished before. Finally, Snorelax runs out of Rests, and I'm able to get consistent damage on it. Finally, on my fifth Mew, I manage to kill it. I don't remember much else about the battle. I guess it was pretty easy with Snorelax out of the way. I was still in shock over losing so many Mews to that thing though to pay much attention. Even now only two battles have ever been as difficult as that battle with Snorelax, and both battles come from a fan made game, Pokemon Reborn. Red forever gained my respect, awe, and fear with his ability to do what I thought was impossible.
***** If I had a group of Mews now, I'd have done it. But keep in mind, the story comes from when Gold first came out on the GBA, back when I was only 8. X3
Damn. I'm 29 fucking years old with tears in my eyes remembering BEING Red, and then fighting him as Gold. Goddamn. Those memories are powerful. They really helped shape the way I look at video games.
The issue with Red is that you think there is a legendary pokemon at the top of mount silver but when you get to face the nightmare know as red this s guy is impossible to beat I had a mix of my sinnoh and johto region team all at level 80 and I didn't lose a single battle and since there was originally a legendary pokemon at mount silver I didn't have a lot of healing items just poke balls and I talk to this guy thinking he is a fisherman and is see a level 88 pikachu I am like SHIT IT IS RED
They should give Red a rematch battle... With a level 90 Articuno Zapdos Moltres Level 93 Dragonite, Level 95 Mew and Level 98 Mega Mewtwo X. Pretty much Kanto's last hurrah...
TheMortalGamer meh, Mewtwo is also a staple of Red. In many incarnations, Mewtwo is always caught by Red. Maybe your right about Mew... swap it out for Pikachu with Lightball and Sig Move. Megavolt... The Pikachu exclusive PokeSpe attack... kinda like an electric ver. of Hyperbeam...
I really love the art of the first picture in the video man.. Very much shows the power of Red as your about to challenge a legendary trainer from the gen that started it all...
The story this song tells is a dark one honestly; a young man obsessed with being the best to the point of total seclusion- only to be outdone by a new champion of the new world.
when my friend meet red on heartgold: look i gonna fight red!!! me:.. ... ... ... ... ... friend: why? me: forget it throw your gameboy and pray harder son
The Shogunal gongs give this a deep ancient Japanese warrior feel. Like a Shogun commanding his daimyo (Pokémon in this case) at a large precession as his servants bang the gong in ceremonial wear to commence an epic battle.
I remember on HeartGold, climbing at Mt. silver, expecting a legendary and packed lots of items. After I reach the peak, I saw someone who looks familiar from my first game Firered (Yeah, I play Remakes). I talk to him, and he's like "...........". The theme plays and I was scared already, because of the silent intro, then I was shocked to see " PKMN Trainer Red wants to battle!". My heartbeat was fast and I shit on myself that I'm fighting the player I controlled before. Wew, luckily I survived him on my first try. Yeah, I knew he would black out since he is You. That was the most memorable battle I ever had
He last appeared in the world tournament in black/white If i remember. black and white is 5th gen 7th gen is coming, Red had 2 years to train, In gold and silver he possibly earned 88 levels on pikachu 80 on charizard the rest i forgot. But realistically Pikachu would be level 256 And Charizard Would be Level 160 sooo.... I just made the level 666 and 665 LVLS up for laughs. Though, Realistically all of Red's pokemon would be over level 140
I remember when I first found him. I'd been wandering up on Mt. Silver for at least an hour 'cause Oak asked me to go up there and was about leave before I ducked into a random cave. It seemed weirder than the others, so, I decided to see where it went, Rock climbed to the top on my Golduck and went through and I came to a single path, expected to find a legendary to fight at the end of it. But, no. Instead, it was him.... I was on the phone with gf and I just couldn't think straight. Me: "So you've g- what the..." Gf: "What?" Me: "What the actual shit??" Gf: "What??" Me: "You have Got to be joking." Gf: "What is it?!" Me: "It's Red. I found Red standing at the top of Mt. Silver." Gf: ".......Well, Damn......." I remember the battle exactly, too. Was giving gf the play-by-play and had to get strategic. Almost beat him on the first try, but Charizard hit a fuckin' critical with a Flare Blitz against my Nidoqueeen, knocking them Both out while Red still had his Venusaur left. I was out of Pokemon, out of Potions, out of Full Restores and, there I stood, before him, completely and utterly defeated.
I hope Red is the last trainer in Sun and Moon with all level 100 legendaries except a lvl 100 MEGA pikachu (that's right). He should have the first ever trainer ability too where his ability Final Stand activates during battle preventing both sides from using any outside items and changing the battle style to set if you had it on shift the whole game like the noob you are. Finally, he should start the battle with a lvl100 Mewtwo with a new ability Instinctual Attack where Mewtwo gets to immediately use a random offensive move right at the start of coming out against you before the battle even starts. And the Red's AI masterfully trolls you with this as he swaps Mewtwo in and out for basically free hits on you :P, and of course Mewtwo has recover. And also it's held item is something new that automatically switches Mewtwo out if it takes half or more damage from one attack to prevent you from two shotting it so easily with some dark type. And of course Mewtwo should be given Aura Sphere for that too :P. I'm telling you Red should literally be cheating hard. In fact if you play the game on Shift style for battles it should punish you further by allowing Red to have shift style meaning he gets to see every Pokemon you switch out too and decide his move before you lol
Ben Stevens i had a similar idea, the original battle was great but should have been made harded. I feel that the battle should have been made that any move that can give a status effect should have a 100% chance of giving that effect. All of his pokemon should have really high defense to make them super hard to die from counters. Also pikachu should be the last character to go out no matter what, but, should be level 101 (or something above 100) doing that could cause such unsettling emotions in the player it would be epic. I basically want the battle with red to be damn near impossible because imo that is how it is supposed to be. I dont even think we should win, we should lose.
I thought I finished it all....That I had finally beaten the game, I beat all the gym leaders in Johto, defeated the great League challenge, and triumphed against the gym leaders in Kanto...But oh boy I was wrong, something wasn't right...I still wondered why Mt. Silver existed, I met the requirements to go there so I did. Before me was a never ending path to what seemed to be a giant mountain filled with mist, hail, and blizzards that would surely be a challenge to travel through, a great treachery....Maybe there was a legendary awaiting me at the peak of that mountain. So I began rushing through the path that was before me. I saw a Pokémon center next to entry of that damned mountain, so I healed up before the great challenge of Mt. Silver began. And so it began, I entered the mountain grazed in Silver in hopes for a final challenge, the Pokémon that were found there held strength beyond my imagination, these Pokémon were much stronger than those that you could find in the wild, but not much of a challenge for my Typhlosion. I kept searching through out the Silver mountain, I then found a dark strange cave, I entered in with curiosity only to find a bird with wings that were engulfed in flames, it bared magnificently beautiful feathers and its beak was one that could tear through anything! This was one of the legendaries I caught when last played Pokémon Red....Moltres. I didn't have any Poké balls so I wasn't able to catch it, instead I battled it. It was much stronger than I thought but I was able to beat it. I still wondered what was on the peak so I kept searching through the mountain. I was getting closer to the peak, I kept finding items scattered across the trees that you could find at the edges outside the mountain, it was slowly starting to feel useless...Untill I found it, I made it, the entrance to the peak was before me....I walked in, awaiting a legendary Pokémon...My final challenge, walked slowly, and then I saw red eyes flash through the blinding blizzards, I approached the eyes, and then a figure dressed in red and white revealed itself, it was ....me?! That was the character that I played as in Pokémon Red, it was me! I was confused, I got closer, I wanted to talk to him and clicked A, he gave me a chilling terrifying silence that I would remember him for, ''.............''. He pulled out a Poké ball, ''Trainer Red wants to battle!''. The music that played was the one that played when I fought Lance, this was the real, true champion, the first ever trainer my whole team lost to, and he only used a Pikachu! You know, I went up that mountain thinking I would find a legendary Pokémon.... Instead, I found a legendary trainer.
My only gripe is that Reds team in Heartgold & SoulSilver should have an Espeon not a Lapras why would you need another water type? He already has Blastoise....
because lapras is iconic. one of a kind and immensely powerful, he's exactly what you'd expect Red to have. Espeon is second gen so he wasn't even an option.
i must grudgingly admit that not every mega evolution looks horrific and some of them even look damn cool. This gen is a slight improvement over the previous atrocity
Supposedly, it was because then all of his Pokemon would have been acquired through giveaways in Yellow Version. Even though Eevee is obtained by giveaway, it is more optional. Pikachu is a starter, the other starters are obtained from other NPCs, but Snorlax must be encountered to progress, and Lapras is provided in Silph Co. just before facing Giovanni.
just a man. you've walked up the entire mountain just to see a man. not a legendary, not a prize, a man. just standing there, back turned... is he waiting for something? is he waiting for you? only one wait to find out
Ah. Master Pokemon Trainer Red. I have fond memories of a glorious battle fought atop the snowy peak of Mt. Silver back in Pokemon Crystal. I was just a mere kid back then. I don't remember how I beat him. All I know, is, I did. Fast forward to Pokemon SoulSilver. Have the same team, meet Red atop the peak again.. get beaten really, really, really badly... never faced him again after that soul crushing defeat.
Red, all pokemon defeated: Good job Gold, but now you will have to face my Pikachu. First, my Pikachu was level one.Through love and care, he became A Pokemon that is known to ascend that area of power and is known as a level 50. After that, through tough training, my Pikachu ascended even level 50 and became even stronger, a level 70. And this… This is to Go… Even further beyond!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Gold: What are you doing! Its not even possible!!! Pikachu: PIKAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA Gold: No! You'll destroy us all!! STOP IT RED!! STOP BEFORE ALL IS LOST!!! Red and Pikachu, straining: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH!!!!!!!!!!! *EXPLOSION* Pikachu is now Mega Raichu. Gold: What!! What level is it!! Pulls out Pokedex: Raichu is level: 101. ITS NOT POSSIBLE!!!!! Red:… Raichu. Volt tackle Mega Raichu: glares, starts to slowly walk, then jog, the run towards cyndaquil: Pika… Pika.. Pika. PikapikapikaPIKAPIKAPIKAPIKAPIKAPIAKPIKACHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU Flash of white, then camera zooms out on Mt. Snow, now blasted to pieces. Roll credits!!
Then pootis bird comes in and does arial ace, intstantly fainting mega raichu Gold:WOW that was a close one!wait, wat level is it? Pokedex:level 9001. Gold:holy shit,MASTERBALL GO! "Shake" "Shake" "Shake" Ding! You caught pootis bird! Would you like to give it a nickname? Gold:no,voice inside my head!
after an intense battle between our teams...... red calls out his Charizard from a cave off in the distance red's Charizard arrives causing an earthquake as the terrain maintained it's placement and they both are looking at me telling me that this is my last chance to go home and leave....... (I look at my Charizard's pokeball I put it up to my face with kindness and strength) (laughs lightly, smiles back) your in for a surprise red.... GO Fire blaze the Charizard!!!! show them!!! Show them you aren't to be messed with!!! Fire blaze would shake the ground twice as hard causing an earthquake in mount silver as an avalanche also passing by red and his Charizard: (both shocked and looking at my Charizard in disbelief also looking at the terrain around them destroyed by a boy's Charizard who is stubborn as he is) me: (snaps fingers) Fire blaze charge!!! Fire blaze would respond in kind red: (looking at his Charizard and tells him to charge as well) his Charizard would respond as well both Charizards would clash with me and red not daring to blink to see who would be the victor this is what I thought when fighting red
Gold: Hey Red! Lets Battle Red: ........ Gold: Uh, Earth To Red! Red: ..... (Red Left) (Red Comes's Back) Gold: Where Did You Go? Red: .... (Red Trows Out Mewtwo) Gold: Nope Nope Nope Nope Nope NOPE Red: ... Gold: wait one sec! Red: ... ? I remember the first time I went through Mt. Silver. I was expecting a legendary, but I see this guy looking like a fisherman, so I talk to him. for some reason, I always pictured reds pokemon resting in the environment around him and when he needed a pokemon, he simply motioned for them and they would come, ie. Blastoise comes out of a pond or Charizard swooping down from a ledge.
Would've made the battle even more epic
+Adrian Martinez i like that, but i just can't get the thought of a blastoise turbo waddling up a mountain out of my head.
I can't stop thinking about a Venusaur using vine whip/frenzy plant to scale Mt. Silver xD
+Adrian Martinez Can't get the image of Pikachu running up the side of a mountain only to fall down and run up it again, out of my head.
+AlphaOmegaSon ya like wtf right
"There is a place, far from here, beyond the Indigo Plateau, beyond the civilization we humans have built, where only the most dangerous Pokemon roam, all but the strongest and bravest avoid it, and even some of them rarely return.
And he does not lose."

You could say "It's only a game", and my answers is "yes", but it is one of my favourite childhood memory.
Well If I lived in 1999 I would wish you good luck of catch 30 Tauros's!

+appelpower1 you didn't really crush him. you crushed a cpu. Red is far more skilled than a cpu trust me.

I remember Red on Mt. Silver like:
Keeping my hand on my starter Pokémon, who was shivering a little, the both of us walked forward and followed where the snowy pathway lead us.
Not the Gym Leaders of Johto, not the Gym Leaders of Kanto, not Professor Elm, not Professor Oak, not the professor's grandson:
The Viridian Gym Leader: Blue Oak... not even his own Mom in Pallet Town knew where he was.
That is a really good one

How to properly fight Red:
1. Have pokemon within a similar Level Range. (So it's not only harder, but proves an actual challenge.)
2. Fight him with the opposites of each type he has (Ground to Electric, Water to Fire, etc.)
3. Turn down game music, play this instead.
4. Enjoy the epic battle.

Red is an EV trainer. That OP son of a 'F'
In my opinion, Red is the true champion. Even above the elite four. He is the ultimate Pokémon master. That’s why he is so respected.

Laughs Then again that is just the ramblings of an old man."

It wasn't this one it was another remix song.
It's confrimed. It's Shadow the Hedgehog!
Red is just... The ultimate trainer! He is the one who actually accomplished every task possible! He caught every pokemon, he beat the elite 4, he destroyed his rival AND he became the greatest Pokemon trainer ever! I always got chills when I had to face him... It was like facing my previous better self!
This is by far the best battle-theme ever made. Not only in pokèmon. It's just so fucking epic.
Dear Diary: HIM
I was told about Mt Silver by good old Professor oak, i was looking forward to catching some more pokemon and filling the pokedex.
While Red still had 2 pokemon, and a max revive, which he used on that level 88 pikachu... shiny gyarados was demolished, a healed typhlosion beat pikachu, crit hit, but charizard and espeon were too much...
this song is so far one of the best pokemon battle themes I've ever heard 0_O.
LordN95 SO TRUE SAME HERE!

*not to hail on your parade
+Zaaach probably evasiveness
+Zaaach I think he meant Lance. Mewtwo could easily take out Red's team as long it lived long enough to do so
Lol I remember when I first beat him. It was like the second or third try because I hadn't known just how powerful he is.

Maybe your right about Mew... swap it out for Pikachu with Lightball and Sig Move. Megavolt... The Pikachu exclusive PokeSpe attack... kinda like an electric ver. of Hyperbeam...
At Daniel: if u read the manga ull see why hes upset/angry, this kid has gone through HELL
Tough world. He really likes mountains (3:00). Makes me so envious because I love mountains too.
which manga chapter shows the reason why he's upset and angry?
the start of this gives me goosebumps aaagh
YES
Amazing... Just amazing... So much nostalgia!!!
Still coming back here in 2019 to get drawn into the tension of the beginning of this
Idk what to call nostalgia, a plague or a blessing
I really love the art of the first picture in the video man.. Very much shows the power of Red as your about to challenge a legendary trainer from the gen that started it all...
when i was about to fight red I had a level... like, 100 blastoise and every other pokemon I had were at least in the 90's and I lost .-.
Level 50-70 alot of Revives and Full Restores. First try with a stratagie!
Andre Gerts Thanks :D! It worked!
No Problem! Glad to help!
Andre Gerts
Strategy, dumbass. Just kidding xD
BloodCrow xD
The story this song tells is a dark one honestly; a young man obsessed with being the best to the point of total seclusion- only to be outdone by a new champion of the new world.
well, if you think so that is, the canon outcome of the fight is open to the player.
well, yea lol
Sajai D. Halo he was never outdone he is the very best
lol, Gold beats him.. Well, at least in my game I kicked his ass- I can't speak for everyone. :3
Strangely my headcanon is that Red and Gold either (a) Don't battle eachother at all , or (b) The battle ends in a tie.
4:12 That Snorlax...
Sleepy and happy... AWESOME! :D
Red:..... (Taps key stone) Bankai
Oh my god that is epic
Alejandro Olazabal thank you
+Justin Nguyen they should put that in if they ever redo pokemon Red Blue and Leaf :D
Mega Battle Zero what?.. "bankai"?
Justin Nguyen
yeah lol
when my friend meet red on heartgold: look i gonna fight red!!!
me:.. ... ... ... ... ...
friend: why?
me: forget it throw your gameboy and pray harder son
0:52 Reds Eye Placement in this illustration is the most comical thing I've ever seen and dissolves any kind of tension 🤣🤣
This was one of my greatest childhood feelings.
How Red is portrayed : Edgy war lord
How Red actually is : A silent 10yo who's smol
If red was still alive he would have a level 665 pikachu, a level 610 blastoise, a level 609 venusaur and a level 666 charizard
so fucking true he is basically the God of all worlds Lol nothing is truly ever going to beat red
Wait, Red is dead?
+Vicente Heredia noooooooooo
He last appeared in the world tournament in black/white
If i remember. black and white is 5th gen
7th gen is coming, Red had 2 years to train,
In gold and silver he possibly earned 88 levels on pikachu
80 on charizard
the rest i forgot.
But realistically
Pikachu would be level 256
And Charizard Would be Level 160
sooo....
I just made the level 666 and 665 LVLS up for laughs.
Though, Realistically all of Red's pokemon would be over level 140
Pokemon levels only go up to lv. 100, if you were trying to make a joke it was dead.
Super Addicted to this awesome version of Red's theme :D
First listened to it a few years ago and still loving it haha
2020 and it still gives me goosebumps
I remember when I first found him. I'd been wandering up on Mt. Silver for at least an hour 'cause Oak asked me to go up there and was about leave before I ducked into a random cave. It seemed weirder than the others, so, I decided to see where it went, Rock climbed to the top on my Golduck and went through and I came to a single path, expected to find a legendary to fight at the end of it. But, no. Instead, it was him.... I was on the phone with gf and I just couldn't think straight.
Me: "So you've g- what the..."
Gf: "What?"
Me: "What the actual shit??"
Gf: "What??"
Me: "You have Got to be joking."
Gf: "What is it?!"
Me: "It's Red. I found Red standing at the top of Mt. Silver."
Gf: ".......Well, Damn......."
I remember the battle exactly, too. Was giving gf the play-by-play and had to get strategic. Almost beat him on the first try, but Charizard hit a fuckin' critical with a Flare Blitz against my Nidoqueeen, knocking them Both out while Red still had his Venusaur left. I was out of Pokemon, out of Potions, out of Full Restores and, there I stood, before him, completely and utterly defeated.
the ultimate showdown, the last fight, the last man standing
I like how Red's canon team is Pikachu, the starters, the Lapras he got as a gift, and Snorlax the roadblock pokemon.
The most epic pokemon battle ever!!!!
THERE IS NO TRAINER MORE BADASS THAN RED
This gives me goosebumps.
+Nicholas Vangi i agree...red is the first league champion (ignoring blue/green). he should have been the strongest trainer ever
Ben Stevens HECK YEAH
They nerfed him
He was, but he got nerfed for it can be easier for kids. All level 60s -_-
The moment you realize you’re facing down a living legend who’s way beyond the power or difficulty level of any champion this series has ever had
He already has Blastoise....
becuase espeon is from second gen. and lapras from the first and lapras is the ice/water type - sorry bad english
because lapras is iconic. one of a kind and immensely powerful, he's exactly what you'd expect Red to have.
Pikachu is a starter, the other starters are obtained from other NPCs, but Snorlax must be encountered to progress, and Lapras is provided in Silph Co. just before facing Giovanni.
waldoman7 Lapras isnt a one of a kind nor is it even powerful...
just a man. you've walked up the entire mountain just to see a man. not a legendary, not a prize, a man. just standing there, back turned... is he waiting for something? is he waiting for you? only one wait to find out
This would work perfectly in a Mt. Silver scene in a Pokèmon movie.
came here from pokemon xy&z final scene, just to take back my manliness :(
Dat Minh Yeah, I cried too, buddy
everyone cryied ;-;
One can't beat Red, but survive!
There are few gaming moments that will EVER top this one.
...
DONT DOT DOT DOT ME
+DarthFalcon64
xDD Golder
+KAZEL ms Lol I watched that too!
I watched that too
c support achieved
My red would never have lost with his team of 6 level 100 alakazams
I'd like to imagine red did all this to protect the world from pokemon like mewtwo
No gods; no kings; only 'Mon!!!
*Red gave me mystical powers.*
The only reason to buy surround sound.
Those pictures look amazing. The song is amazing. THIS IS AMAZING.
TONIGHT WE DINE ON MT. MOON!
If they gave him a rematch in the new games, he'd have frickin' Mega starters...
+EmpoleonEmpire It's coming buddy... Just wait. Red is coming back with vengeance. Sun and Moon. Red comes back and fucks shit up.
BEST. IDEA. EVER
And this…
This is to Go…
Even further beyond!!!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Gold: What are you doing! Its not even possible!!!
Pikachu: PIKAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Gold: No! You'll destroy us all!! STOP IT RED!! STOP BEFORE ALL IS LOST!!!
Red and Pikachu, straining: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH!!!!!!!!!!!
*EXPLOSION*
Pikachu is now Mega Raichu.
Gold: What!! What level is it!!
Pulls out Pokedex: Raichu is level: 101.
ITS NOT POSSIBLE!!!!!
Red:… Raichu. Volt tackle
Mega Raichu: glares, starts to slowly walk, then jog, the run towards cyndaquil: Pika… Pika.. Pika. PikapikapikaPIKAPIKAPIKAPIKAPIKAPIAKPIKACHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
Flash of white, then camera zooms out on Mt. Snow, now blasted to pieces.
Roll credits!!
Then pootis bird comes in and does arial ace, intstantly fainting mega raichu
Gold:WOW that was a close one!wait, wat level is it?
Pokedex:level 9001.
Gold:holy shit,MASTERBALL GO!
"Shake" "Shake" "Shake" Ding! You caught pootis bird!
Would you like to give it a nickname?
Gold:no,voice inside my head!
Link mega raichu saying pikachu? i want that raichu..
+Link I'm screenshotting this comment. Perhaps I can use this idea.
wait y the hell will he STILL have a cyndaquil
Nathan Schubert Glad to be of use
2:17 is when you take down Pikachu, Snorlax, & Lapras, but now have to deal with the OG starters
I think Nintendo should make a new game with red in it to explain where he went, because after the battle, he just disappears.
He goes to unova ._.
***** Not to sound like a douche or anything... but i kinda like red being this mysterious guy who just... is there I guess? but yea... :)
Sollux Captor He goes to a Pokemon Center
+Sollux Captor lol random found someone using my art :P you are allowed to though, man i should draw sollux again -lazy-
Woah, you actually drew this!?
after an intense battle between our teams......
red calls out his Charizard from a cave off in the distance
red's Charizard arrives causing an earthquake as the terrain maintained it's placement
and they both are looking at me telling me that this is my last chance to go home and leave.......
(I look at my Charizard's pokeball I put it up to my face with kindness and strength) (laughs lightly, smiles back) your in for a surprise red.... GO
Fire blaze the Charizard!!!! show them!!! Show them you aren't to be messed with!!!
Fire blaze would shake the ground twice as hard causing an earthquake in mount silver as an avalanche also passing by
red and his Charizard: (both shocked and looking at my Charizard in disbelief also looking at the terrain around them destroyed by a boy's Charizard who is stubborn as he is)
me: (snaps fingers) Fire blaze charge!!!
Fire blaze would respond in kind
red: (looking at his Charizard and tells him to charge as well)
his Charizard would respond as well
both Charizards would clash with me and red not daring to blink to see who would be the victor
this is what I thought when fighting red
2:16 Is that the Godzilla theme I hear?
The intro to this song is amazing
Gold: Hey Red! Lets Battle
Red: ........
Gold: Uh, Earth To Red!
Red: .....
(Red Left)
(Red Comes's Back)
Gold: Where Did You Go?
Red: ....
(Red Trows Out Mewtwo)
Gold: Nope Nope Nope Nope Nope NOPE
Red: ...
Gold: wait one sec!
Red: ... ?
(gold leaves)
(gold comes back)
Gold: here
(throws a pokeball to red)
(red opens pokeball)
Gold: its a mew! you can have him.
(Red faints of happiness)
Gold: ...?
is that because you can't have a Mew en Pokemon Red?
Oh yes... That Mew... The best Moment in my Life...
@@nijuareverso5212 No, I Cant Catch mew without Glitches. My First Life Is Corrupted. I Start a New Life without Missigno And Mew
If red really had a channel he wouldn't comment tbh
DumbEspeon Mexlito no he would just do ...
Lmao he wouldn't say nothing in the whole dam video 😂😂
ok lets talk Red'ese! me first! :D

The build up to this theme is so insanely good. Aaaaah.

HeartGold and SoulSilver…….
LONG LIVE THE KING OF POKEMON
Yes!
I approve!
10/1.0
Trainer Ethan
Sub to me, Gold is my favorite Pokèmon trainer, I subbed to you.
This gave me nostalgia, this is one of my favorite Pokémon Songs growing up.
I show this music in a tree next to my house...
All the birds in tree evolved into Articunos,Zapdos, Moltres, Ho Ohs, Lugias and the snakes evolved into Mega Rayquaza and Giratina
Calling it: Sun and Moon.
World is ending, he treks down from Mt. Silver with Charizard X, Pikachu, Lapris, Jolteon, Gengar and Mewtwo.
He says "..."
"What'd I miss?" in a raspy, yet badass voice. Kanto fans and HGSS players alike are gonna fap to that moment (jk)
Wait, so you wouldn't?
+Will Booras "Kept you waiting huh."
Also he should just have every single mega at that point. Mega Charizard, Mega Pikachu (finally), Mega Lapras*, Mega Espeon (Red didn't have a Jolteon last time I checked), Mega Gengar (Shiny if possible) and Mega Mewtwo X.
+Dr. Stephen [Max Lvl Tem] Nosebleeding.
The team you stated was wrong, it was: Espeon/lapras, snorlax, pikachu, charizard, venusaur, blastoise
why would there be a mega pikachu if there's raichu last time i checked hounter didint have a mega evoloution but gengar did
