His music has changed my life, and I've never been able to say that before. His music keeps me comfortable when I'm not, happy when I'm sad, and times sad when I'm happy. I've never felt that with any band/musician until Brian, it's truly helped me through everyday life and I am so thankful for it. He is a true artist who loves what he does, he thoroughly puts everything into every song.... Sorry for going on and on, but really his music is a huge part of my life. Thank you Brian.
Brian Fallon has helped me face the realities both harsh and beautiful of the moments of my life. And because of that, my life has been not changed but enhanced. And for that I say thank you.
Not many artists make songs this meaningful anymore... I mostly listen to Brian, Chuck Ragan, Laura Jane Grace, Dave Hause and Tim Vantol anymore because of their lyrics, soulful melodies and amazing voices.
+Babitzo Voice is a bit more debatable with this one, but lyrics wise Craig Finn is great too. If you want something calmer, try Balcony, The Western Pier or Jackson, if you want something more active, just anything by The Hold Steady.
What I find so interesting is that we are all here because of Brian...everything that we feel and wanted to ever say, he's saying for us with the same passion, heart, and soul that we have..." We only write by the moon"
Thank you Brian for writing such a beautiful song . I'm sure it helps not only me heal, remember, and smile when I am taken over by the memories I will cherish when I hear this tune. It is medicine as much as it is music for me.
You can’t beat a beautiful, simple acoustic version. Well played Brian, if you pour your heart into the song people will recognise that. Unfortunately most won’t but that’s their loss. 🤘🏽
This video is everything I love about live music. It makes me feel. I miss loving someone, I miss having her around, but as much as this makes me feel about all I miss and what I lost, it's comforting knowing that there's still love out there. I just have to try for it, there's no giving up.
@@GingerBeard91 long story short, found her, lost her, kept doing what I wanted to do and never let myself down. Happier than I’ve ever been just never sacrificing myself for someone else

The gaslight anthem and brian fallon will forever remain in my top 5 bands/artists list, for the reason that their music is so honest and emotional! Thanks guys!
This was the first time I've ever heard this song or this band....but then, I'm OLD!! :) I really liked it though....and I loved seeing this young man's nice smile at the end of the song....I wish so many of today's artists would SMILE A WHOLE LOT MORE!!! Even though the music & the lyrics are sometimes melancholy....a smile before or during the bridge & at the end are a welcome relief in a rather serious piece of music!! :) Nice performance Mr. Brian Fallon! Use your success wisely, Brian!
You watch this simple man (Brian) playing this songs and you just can't believe how he does it, the way he play those songs, how he comunicates to you, it's just unbelievable
Pull it out, turn it up, what's your favorite song? That's mine, I've been crying to it since I was young I know there's someone out there feeling just like I feel I know they're waiting up, I know they're waiting to heal And I've been holding my breath Are you holding your breath For too many years to count? Too many years to count And we waited for the sirens that never come And we only write by the moon Every word handwritten And to ease the loss of youth And how many years I've missed you Pages plead forgiveness Every word handwritten Let it out, let me in, take a hold of my hand There's nothing like another soul that's been cut up the same And did you want to drive without a word in between? I can understand, you need a minute to breathe And to sew up the seams after all this defeat All this defeat And we waited for the sirens that never come And we only write by the moon Every word handwritten And to ease the loss of youth And the many, many years I've missed you Pages plead forgiveness Every word handwritten Here in the dark, I cherish the moonlight I'm in love with the way you're in love with the night And it travels from heart to limb to pen And we waited for the sirens that never come And we only write by the moon Every word handwritten Every word handwritten And with this pen, I thee wed From my heart to your distress Every word handwritten
+Sean Johnson they said they were only "taking a break" though that usually means that they are done for good.... hope they reunite. Loved their stuff. Especially the earlier stuff, and even the stuff off Get Hurt LOL (seems everyone hated that last record for some reason)
He has one of those raspy voices which could go rapidly downhill if he doesn't take care of it (like what happened to Liam Gallagher for example). Great video
Ur lyrics are beautiful Brian this song acoustic gives me such a feel I honestly been way to kill my self but this an no halo by sorority noise (acoustic also juss gives me such a different feel) literally make me want to live (don’t feel like this all the time other songs have helped me bur this is Beautiful) thank you
dabvid perry Gibson j-45. He plays that and the Gibson blues King in other acoustic covers found on youtube, which has a similar color scheme, but a smaller body.
thats good and great, but you should learn to just feel what you're feeling. Why MAKE yourself happy, when you are clearly sad? Just feel the sadness, its a feeling, you're supposed to FEEL them :)
This song sounds great in acoustic and also in original version. We tried and made a non-accoustic cover of this. It would be really nice if you check it and leave comment :) Thx
I see the youtube guitar virtuosos assuming they could do so much better. loll. Give me a break. If miscroscopic precision was what really made music great, Apple and Maserati would be making the best music out there, not soulful people like Brian Fallon.

Easily some of the best music made in 20 years
It's very rare you hear so much emotion in songs nowadays.
Brian Fallon really is a special songwriter.
Still true today
Best music I've heard in 20 years

Brian Falon.
I lost that woman you sing about.

Everytime I listen to this I think im only gonna listen once than I end up replaying it lol. Love this song and this guy so much!

one of the VERY few examples of a TRUE musician to come out since the mid 90's. I weep for kids now days.

OMG, great song, great guitar, great everything....
Wow, it feels so different stripped down. The quiet melancholy really does it well.

Thanks guys!
I am amazed at how many other people feel the same about Brian as I do.
This guy is amazing, dude has a gaze that pierces through and finds meaning =)
Sad and beautiful at the same time, just perfect :)

the imperfection is what makes this so special!
glad they didn't edit it.
I'm gonna miss The Gaslight Anthem, they were my favourite band. Hopefully Brian's upcoming solo record will be just as good.
+Sean Johnson they broke up?????
Benjamin Moore They're on hiatus for a while, so sort of :(
aaahhh something like thrice did... just taking a break. well as long as Brian makes music ill be happy
Benjamin Moore Yeah man he's got a single coming out in the next week, i'm definitely gonna see his London show next year!
+Sean Johnson they said they were only "taking a break" though that usually means that they are done for good.... hope they reunite. Loved their stuff. Especially the earlier stuff, and even the stuff off Get Hurt LOL (seems everyone hated that last record for some reason)
What a musician! Incredible!
Beautiful!!!
Just One Word ... Beautiful
Brian is seriously this generations bruce Springsteen
So much better than Bruce imo
Being depressed, drunk & a Brian Fallon fan is kinda horrible, I must say
+Shane Joseph (Nersha Bainco) I can relate to this on an almost spiritual level.
+filmnoirx I hear you!
There's always sunshine after the storm my friend. Keep your head up and move forward. I want this on iTunes :)
I couldn't have put it better myself..
whats worse is being all of that and not letting others in. and if you think this is depressing you never listened to acoustic songs from defeater.
"Pages plead forgiveness. Every word handwritten."
The Gaslight Anthem needs to release an album full of acoustics strictly.
Beautiful song
Love the lyrics! John
This is awesome
nice song, greets from Chile :)
simply amazing _o_
Franchement, c'est excellent.
This has swayed the vote and made them my best band
look in the reflection of the guitar. you can see sinestro filming it.
He does.
He has one of those raspy voices which could go rapidly downhill if he doesn't take care of it (like what happened to Liam Gallagher for example). Great video

Why isn't it on the B-sides record?
I hope he keeps on playing, even without TGA. I need the music.

+Sean Johnson Awesome!!!! hope he does some of the cover songs that he does live :D
smooth...

What Gibson model is that it sounds beautiful.
dabvid perry Gibson j-45. He plays that and the Gibson blues King in other acoustic covers found on youtube, which has a similar color scheme, but a smaller body.
thought his acoustic performances had gone down hill since Handwritten was released but this is great, fallon back at his best
Does someone know which Gibson Model he is playing in this video?
DecentCold J45
i like how its slown down
He's the fucking man.
Fuck! I need to punch a wall to feel manly again!

but Gibson J-45 + Brian Fallon = so much win!!
