Gaslight were such great performers. Brian was obviously struggling deeply with grief during the Horrible Crowes phase ,his self titled album, Get Hurt and his Molly and the Zombies gig. The passion he puts into recognizing and the organization of his pain and emotions is definitely the key factor into coping with his apparent losses. Fallon is an Angel. Love his new album " Local Honey"
This is very well-written response. I think you are 100% correct based on the podcasts I have listened to where he talks about going to therapy. What a brilliant singer.
Love this version, especially the end when he adds lines from the Leonard Cohen song 'Chelsea hotel' which was an homage to Janis Joplin. Brian for me is one of those singers that can invoke the true sense of loss, such in the way that we were subject to by all the great classic song writer artists.
The best performance of my favourite Gaslight song ❤ there's a real sense of catharsis and letting go here which wasn't there in earlier shows or in the original track.
Come pick me up from the night From the hands of the dark From the things I didn't know That would simply break your heart There were years in this room Blind and shattered in the glass Held it up to myself 'Til I just couldn't stand So don't ask me where I been Cause you don't wanna know And don't ask me who I'm seein' No, you don't wanna know Don't come around me here when I need you the most Leave it alone, leave a little room for the holy ghost. And come take me out of the light I don't feel you anymore I came apart from myself And from the crosses you wore And the things in my soul Once my comfort and friend I came to the reason and I lost you again So don't ask me where I been Cause you don't wanna know And don't ask me who I'm seein' No, you don't wanna know And don't come around me here when I need you the most Leave it alone... leave a little room for the holy ghost. Now your pretty horse is runnin' wild and free You can go and find a lover baby better than me Talkin' snow for days with your friends in L.A. Have mercy. Have mercy.
I'm not anglophone, so please can someone say me what he say after the last have mercy? The chelsey hotel, a only-live version that I dont find the lyrics.
I think it is: And you told me again How you preferred handsome men Ah but for me you’d make an exception I don’t mean to suggest that I loved you the best I can’t keep track of each fallen robin And I’ll remember you well from the chelsea hotel But that’s all I don’t think of you that often I think I read once that Leonard Cohen wrote chelsea #2 about Janis Joplin but then felt bad about writing it and that the Chelsea hotel was a hotel that a lot of popular artists used to stay at that point in time. I kind of wonder if there was a meaning to why brian added that part to this, if there was a specific reason or if it was just because he liked the song. Either way it’s a great version though.
Thank you for putting this up. Freaking heartbreaking. Freaking beautiful.
This man and this band. We lived through their words, and still do.
100%
They're back
@@BeltedYapper They just needed a positive charge :')

There's some kind of tricky that brings me to tears EVERY FUCKING TIME he sings those lines from Chelsea Hotel, by Leonard Cohen... What a song!
But that’s all I don’t think of you that often…
This is the best version I've heard Brian sing this. Love this!!
So much beauty in so much pain. Brian is a gift.

At this point, I'm pretty sure i'm roughly .5% of the total views for this video.
And I can't thank y'all enough for that!
This version is better than the album version.
They're finally back.
Looking forward to seeing them in Wolverhampton, next Saturday
Such a perfect song
Staggering. Absolutely beautiful, painful, and heartbreaking. ❤️
Come pick me up from the night
From the hands of the dark
From the things I didn't know
That would simply break your heart
There were years in this room
Blind and shattered in the glass
Held it up to myself
'Til I just couldn't stand
So don't ask me where I been
Cause you don't wanna know
And don't ask me who I'm seein'
No, you don't wanna know
Don't come around me here when I need you the most
Leave it alone, leave a little room for the holy ghost.
And come take me out of the light
I don't feel you anymore
I came apart from myself
And from the crosses you wore
And the things in my soul
Once my comfort and friend
I came to the reason and I lost you again
So don't ask me where I been
Cause you don't wanna know
And don't ask me who I'm seein'
No, you don't wanna know
And don't come around me here when I need you the most
Leave it alone... leave a little room for the holy ghost.
Now your pretty horse is runnin' wild and free
You can go and find a lover baby better than me

Have mercy.
I want you to always be safe and happy. Because your music is indispensable to my life.

Great stuff🤟… thnx & keep on’ rockin Brian & Co
this is perfect.
This is amazing
This is just soooo good.
thank you for uploading it!!
They broke my heart.
And I don't mean to suggest that I loved them the best
I never thought I’d hear one of my favorite gaslight songs turn into one of my favorite menzingers songs... I love this
MinusHuman12 Chelsea hotel is a Leonard Cohen song, menzingers redid it for sun hotel. The Cohen original is amazing
The greatest videos
Who's praying this reunion means a full cover of this?
Theyve played it at every show so far 👌
@@infernalpleb4361 I should have said album recording. That would have made me a whole lot clearer lol. But God that warms my heart to hear.
I don't meant to suggest that I loved you the best, I can't keep track of each fallen robin 💔
Better then the album version
2015 not 2016 no?
How come this isn't available on spotify?
Was only ever released on iTunes as a bonus track. Incredible to think that it didn't make the album. It's one of their best!!
@@Paull77 the album version of this is so different. I wish they’d released a version like this too.

What’s it like to not know good music when you hear it?
