Pure hate, disgust, and cyincalness is some of them and this music is only but an outlet to release those emotions. However music like this really molds itself into whatever the listener wants it to be. Music like this could totally be applicable to a serial killer or your average joe. Vocals like this is almost like a language, after a while (years even at least for myself) you start to comprehend the lyrics without having to look for references. A good way to learn is to simply read along and then recite the lyrics as you listen.

Crazy amounts of talent to sing and play something that fast and hard at the same time.
They sound just as tight and clean live as they do on their studio versions. So definitely check them out live if you haven't yet.

Absolutely one of the best. Not only their Riffs are heavy AF and Absolutely SLAM, but they also manage to stay melodic and super technical at the same time.
They do everything do damn well. The sound is full for a full 5pc band but performed by a 3pc. The guitar work is stellar, the bassist is a freak of nature with his tapping and arpeggios on a bass. The drums are flawless and fast as f@*k. The Vox from both of them are perfect death metal. What's not to love?

Great audio engineer but a lot of that has to do with having better technology, being as this album isnt super old. It also mostly has a lot to do with just how great the musicians are, how in sync they are with each other, the instruments/equipment they use, and how they tune them.
So, I decided to check out a couple of songs to see if I like Dying Fetus or not.
Holy fuck, this song is amazing. I wasn't too sure about the song I tried before this one, but this blew me away.
These guys are going on my list of "bands I sure fucking hope I get a chance to see before I die" for sure.
Two separate eras for DF, the older stuff wasn't nearly as technical, then John fired the whole band got a couple new guys n been churning it out hard n technical ever since

I've been doing a deep dive into metal (again) and finding new amazing bands left and right. Dying Fetus was one of them I came to identify the fastest, as they've such an insanely percussive element to their music, even down to the pacing of the vocals. It allows them to jam in a way that I haven't really heard from anyone else, and I'm here for it. Excellent work!
Also check out Defeated Sanity, First Fragment, Obscura etc and other sub genres like sludge and doom.

Just saw Dying Fetus perform live on their chaos and carnage tour of 2023, and holy shit! Trey Williams is just as much of a beast in real life as he is on recording. I do believe that the sound technician deserves to be put in musician jail because the vocals were so quiet, I couldn’t hear those iconic growls.
The term never judge a book by its cover cannot be more understood than with the band Dying Fetus. What fantastic, technical & interesting music a band can write with such a horrific name.
Bought this shirt Friday night at the show in Dallas, can’t wait to wear it in public
