@@GalaxyGames843 I spent more than $600 as well on upgrading…but my machine is at a gym where they pay with cards mostly. It’s super high traffic, so I’ll make that money back in a month or so.
**LOOK UP ESD** You need to be grounded with a ground strap when handling the control board. That's why it's in that silver package. Research ESD (Electrostatic Discharge). Handling the board as you did, has a strong possibility of damaging the board by static shock. It will probably work for a while but after a few months or a couple of years if you're lucky, the board will go bad and you're calling tech support to figure out why. This is not a well known thing unless you have experience and training in electronics handling. Only then you'll learn how much it is stressed just how bad ESD is to electronics.
Thanks for the tip. I've been working with circuit boards for many years and haven't had that issue come up yet, but thank you for bringing it to my attention
Like all TH-cam safety monitors, ESD is drastically over exaggerated. If it was going to harm the board, it wouldn't function immediately after the static discharge. There is no real possibility for some undetectable future issue to be caused taking it out of the bag. Either it's smoked or it's not.
@@ronlabe5487 Then good luck to you. All I will say is you will be fired in a heartbeat if you disregard ESD handling rules as an assembler/inspector/engineer from any reputable electronic manufacturing company worldwide. Just saying

I just came across this video doing research looking into getting into vending. This may be a newbie question, but here goes. Can you get an older machine in good shape and change the boards out to accept the credit card readers?
Some machines yes - but not all - It depends on if an upgrade board is available for the model you are looking to buy - there isn't an upgrade available for all machines out there
I got a AP studio one snack machine when it was bought it was set up just for card reader it has no coin Mac no dollar bill validator nothing do you know how to set it up for regular and if so could you take a picture of your machine if you have one and send it to me I am really stuck with this and I’m just starting out
I wasn't familiar with that particular machine. I did look it up and it doesn't seem like a kit has been manufactured to make that machine work with credit cards
Hi I am new to the business and this is so helpful because one of my new machines needs to be updated. It's an AP 113. I was told that if I upgrade the control board, I have to also upgrade the bill collector and the coin collector. Is that true? You mentioned getting the MDB codes once installing- what does that mean?
The AP machines will most likely need a new compatible dollar bill acceptor and coin mechanism if it doesn't currently have compatible ones in there. As far as the MDB codes... those are the internal machine codes that report to the cc reader when managing inventory inside the machine.
@@GalaxyGames843 I just realized that my AP 113 is an older model. The display unit is behind the bill collector instead of behind the new control board. Any videos with that type of vending machine?
I ordered from D&S vending and no they aren't compatible with every older machine. Find your machines model number and go to that website to see if a kit is available
You would need to upgrade it like I did to this machine in this video... Here is the new board you would need: www.dsvendinginc.com/p-2253-d950a-1-inone-kit-ap-40005000-series-machines.aspx
