  • Here's my review for the Arris X220 Ready-to-Fly Kit with Taranis QX7 Radio. This was my first FPV drone that I bought based on a recommendation from a well-known member of the FPV community. It didn't totally live up to expectations but I learned a lot! Enjoy the vid.

i bought an arris 250 rtf about 5 years ago when i first started flying fpv, they even had one of my videos on their website to help promote that frame. they are a good small company out of china.

I wish I would have found your channel before I got into the hobby because not knowing all of this bullshit about hidden costs, compatibility, and an absurdly steep learning curve if you don't get an actually complete RTF bundle. And don't even get me started on setting up a new radio to a new quad and figuring out how to set up Betaflight, and then figure out how to use Betaflight to configure everything to be able to use any of it. Then find out that your fancy new radio that you just ordered the battery and tray for is incompatible with your Trashcan, then figure out which one you wanna replace. Sweet baby Jesus what a pain in the nuts. Your videos would have effectively cut my learning curve/upfront costs by at least 1/3. So thank you for your super accurate and honest videos, I love 'em. And keep 'em comin' dood.

Hi, thank you for all the videos you put out, found them very informative and crisp, subscribed, and as a beginner, glad that TH-cam suggested your videos to me, few questions on a very old video of yours, 1. I bought a arris x280 with gps and long range transmitter locally from a guy for $150, with batteries/balance charger - but I see that you didn’t like your X220, would you recommend a switch to Nazgul or play with it until it breaks and then switch out and 2. The batteries I got are rather heavy, about 492g with drone weight at 392 g, is the battery weight too much for the drone ? What’s the ideal ration you recommend ? 3. I see you put the battery on top of your drone, mine has the gps/receiver on top, is there a difference in terms of maneuverability if battery is on top or bottom 4. When would you recommend I charge the batteries ? I fly usually after work at about 5:30 and I was charging them after but after seeing videos about fire, I am so worried I keep the batteries away from my home, would you suggest I just charge it before I start playing and then use it till 50% and charge it again next day before I use them ? Just want to make sure I don’t start a fire accidentally, once again thank you for all the information you put, really nice job

I bought the BNF version and have had the same issue with the battery connector coming loose. My other quads never had this issue. I also don't like how close the props come to the central parts. There should be more then the 1/6" clearance.

Dope man. I'm sure you'll still have a fun time with it. If I could give one tip, one of the first things you'll probably want to upgrade is the vtx antenna to get a stronger signal. Just keep in mind that the original arris needs one with a female adapter (I don't remember the proper name) but most antennas come with a male adapter. I made this mistake when buying :)

Oh yeah on top of that they didn't send my battery either and when I told them they told me to go back and check my box really good smh .. supposably they're shipping me one out now through ups

I just got the Arris c250 kit with the flysky transmitter bundle and. . . I got It setup and realized that It did not come with a charger and It did not come with extra props too. I took it out for a quick flight and I realized that the video was super shaky, I could not see anything so I disarmed and It went SPLAT on the ground, luckily it was okay. I could not tell why this was but It was unflyable. I thought that I could just buy it and pair it too some fpv goggles, and I could fly everyday without any problems, but I did not have extra props and I did not have a working charger. I also saw that when you armed the motors they would not start spinning, but you would have to give a little throttle to start the motors so It wasn't Ideal for freestyle, and flips and rolls. Please help, Thank you
    Sincerely Frustrated.

    • @Heinrich1x

I would reccomend that you set your drone up to failsafe(basically just stop spinning the motors and fall out of the sky) when it loses signal or goes out of range, that way if your drone actually loses signal it can fall to the ground and maybe break something but hey, its better than losing it completely or it hitting someone when it does run out of battery eventually and just giving the FAA more of a reason to try and stop our hobby.. :-)
