Beautiful and creative. Love the before and after. Subscribed within minutes of the video. Would love to see some behind the scenes of how the projects are considered and executed to achieve the look. I assume this required significant demolition with drilling thru walls and ceilings, rewiring etc?

Hi Jeremy How lovely to her that you have subscribed and are enjoying our TH-cam channel. Thank you for your content ideas too. When thinking of changing your lighting, it is certainly best to create a design early on in the build or renovation process. We usually say lighting should be considered at the same time as plumbing. If your house is already complete, as in one of the properties above, then yes a new lighting scheme will require a significant upheaval to achieve the best effects. I hope that helps Sarah

I'd love to know *how* you add light to the shelves? Where is the LED strip exactly? Is the light in the wall? on the shelves themselves? Same question re: the staircase. Thank you.

Hi firstly it depends on what lighting effect you are looking to achieve either back or front lighting. If back lighting you can stick it to the back of the shelf, but if front lighting you will need to create a groove to conceal the strip in the profile at the front. The detail here is very important so you get the best lighting effect but difficult to explain here. I hope that is helpful Sarah

Love the before & after pics. However, LED lights are not good for our eyes or circadian rhythm.

      Hi @CarrieAnn17,
Thanks for engaging with our video and your kind words regards the impact our lights can have had on this space.
Any artificial or natural light source can have detrimental effects on our eyes in the wrong circumstances. Low end, poorly designed artificial light sources, be they LED or older technologies, where the persons and environment have not been considered, should certainly be avoided. At John Cullen Lighting we use best in class LED components, considerably designed into low glare luminaires, that optimise the visual comfort of those using or living in the environment. Different colours of light temperature can also be selected to enhance circadian rhythms too.

Thank you Matt for your response. I love what your designers enhance & accomplish. Agreed, like my iPhone, I have turned down the blue intensity on the screen & increased the warm colors to reduce the glare. Keep up the great work.
