- How FAST is a Stock RAM 1500 HEMI in Quarter Mile Drag Strip Time I was very surprised to see what drag racing this 5.7L HEMI ran in this regular cab short bed ram1500 pickup truck

I ran 14.1 bone stock down here in Houston, that 13.8 is pretty impressive. I'm running 11.5 now, Moe's Performance has a video of me running 11.8 on here, I have a 14 Ram RT
What mods do you have on your truck to be running that?
@@anthonyescalante937 it's a stock bottom end 5.7. it has a cam, ported heads, ported truck 6.4 manifold, ARH long tubes, ATI pulley, plus suspension parts and some weight reduction.
I raced a Dodge truck this year model with some exhaust work today and my 2019 F150 2.7 Eco boost with my custom HP tune I did outran his truck from a 30 mph roll and then he tried again and jump me from a roll and I still ran him down fast and past with a lot of mph. I did not tell him he would have better luck from dead stop, because my truck spins first second and third some.

Hard to believe a stock pickup has better 1/4 mile times than a 1968 Mach 1 with a 428 Cobra Jet lol. Times sure have changed

I ran one of these trucks in my Trailblazer SS and it surprised me.
My Tbss ran 13.4 at that time and put about a car on the truck. Thought it would of been worse.

With a 3.8 run I would start with the rear end change first and see what the gain would be!

I have my Dad's 2013 Ram 1500 4x4 short bed, reg cab! I put one of your throttle bodies on it, CAI, performance exhaust, and a Diablo tune. Just ordered the 5K air bags, that you reviewed and installed. Plus, I just ordered a Peragon bed cover! I'll definitely continue to try and do some more subtle upgrades! Thats a really nice pass. I have an RT Ram and have never taken it to the track but i know their official 1/4 mile stock time is 14.00 seconds and the RT has a rear locking differential. So your one wheel peel run was awesome

Wow .. she hooked good on your first run an i was very excited to see it ran 13.8 at that mph with bone stock.. i was thinking it would have at least a limited slip rear in it but nope she is a basic truck 🛻 for real lol.. it sure was nice to see ya out at the track getting some runs in .. musta felt good an have fun too ..👍 im happy for bro !! My GTI went 12.4 with a 2.0 60' full weight on 91 octane lol. DA was likw 2000 ft too. It has exactly 3 parts changed from stock. EQT has done 10 second street passes on their 100% stock hardware mk8 Golf R. Tuning only. MQB is a great platform.
It would be interesting to see how a limited slip dif, some smaller wheels and better tires would do before getting into the power mods.

Stock 20s, limited slip, 392s……was hard to hook. If I could hook like he did I think I could get a 13.6/7
That’s on the streets and that wasn’t too bad. Where those the stock tires too? Still though, that’s pretty quick for a stock truck.

Sounds like time for some LSD action(and not the hallucinogen drug either), that rear axle needs it BAD. Smoking good run 1st time out though with a sub-14 run!
SRT headers and mids with 3" exhaust will get the exhaust out of the engine much more efficiently than stock issue!

Like you said those wheels are HEAVY, my tradesman RCSB when it was stock on 17's and all seasons went 13.5 @101. The 17s you had originally make a good budget drag pack with smaller diameter fronts and drag radials in the back! Could go sub 13.5 with just that!
Yeah I believe it! Wheels weren’t helping at all but those 17s I had were no name tires and belts were gone in them, wouldn’t have trusted going that fast on them lol

I want to see the hellcat Dakota time slip, nothing wrong with the dodge, but want to see the hellcat.
@4:10 mark is why you always turn traction control off at the track. Your should convert the rear axle to limited slip before any other mods otherwise it will just keep spinning.

been driving dakota r/t for 16 years and is modded, premium only and k an n system, feels faster than any i have had. one car,truck i mean,an 16 years, its still a thrill every time i drive it....

Back in the day I was a part of a drag racing team we had a front engine rail with a 327 two speed power glide on pump gas and a bottle of octane boost we would run 8 seconds in the quarter mile at 155/160 depending on elevation good times
For an afr set up, you should look into banks power and the data monster. Tons of data logging capabilities plus it is a customizable gauge so you can view up to 8 parameters on it at a time. Plus it can be combined with more of them

When I did longtubes it cut off .4 seconds. I wanna see u do the 6.4 manifold and see . The good thing with the 14 u don't need a unlocked pcm . So what tuner will u be going with ? I have Jay greene

Never ran my truck bone stock at the track I got a 13.2 on just drag pack 17s, longtubes headers,diablo tune. I’m also here In Orlando Florida if you want to link up
i remember my duster running 13.96 at commerce back in early 1990,s an dang sure grip was messed up an was spinning, al l in drive allways...with a used competition cam, we simply ran outta money an later got a rare purple challenger r/t cloned to an r/t se,it was a real s/e i meant to say,small back window an upper console..
13s is damn good. Few mods and 12s is realistic.
you should do another run when you install the 3.92 rear gears.
That's not too shabby for bone stock on the r/t 22s. 3.92s/locker, headers/full exhaust and a jay Greene tune and drag pack will put that truck into the 12s. My buddy ran a 12.8 in his on the 22s spinning. I could only squeak out a 13.9 in my 04 lol. We had lots of fun though and I wish I'd fixed mine instead of selling it. But I want an 15 up anyway 💪
If you were going to buy a single cab I am surprised you didn't jump on Kyle's truck. I dont know what gears you have but get the 3.92'w with the 8 speed. Then 4k stall and cam :)
Nice pass. Better rims and tires are an easy .1 to maybe a .2 gain over that best pass. I would.love to see just an Intake and one of your throttle bodies and another run with just that. I do not think they will help at all though, I think you will need some upgrade on the exhaust side to see anything from the intake side. I would like to see a run after 1-3 mods to see progression. We all know the headers and the tune are going to be the mods that really move the needle and add some decent MPH.
Yeah going to try and do one change at a time so we can see the progression. An intake by itself, bolt on muffler by itself and canned tune by itself

My quad cab 17 seems to run pretty good With the 3.92 and the 8 speed it pulls great from 45 miles per hour have not have not gone from a dig to see what it really does yet with the 5.7 hemi

I ram mine on 17s and got a 13.64 bone stock
13.8 is respectable for a moderate mod truck you know exhaust,cold air intake no engine fan ECT. You did good Jon now get a log book and keep track of the time slips and mods done love to watch the stages....I went to New England dragway with my 98 5.9 rt had shorty headers and kenne bell cold air intake stock tune put some 110 octane track fuel and figured it would be 13.9-14.8.........factory said 14.9 in the quarter....got up on line went against my buddy had a 70 Plymouth duster 340 full on race motor did 10.30s constantly very consistent car...we line up and I slapped the tree with an 00.5 light went through the traps at 103 mph some how it registered a 11.90😳 we calculated it MAY do like I said earlier a 13.9-14.8....never got it close to the numbers again best after that was a 13.8 I think it may have broke the accumulater spring in tranny and scuffed the clutches in the rear end...it started chattering after the 11.90 run so I think I may have hurt it a little.....but with this 2000 reg cab RT I am building with the hellcat swap I am not going on the track with it it is just going to be my street brawler tire fryer fun toy...go to local car shows and stuff....got way to much in it to have something like what happened to you put it out of commission...but I enjoy what you are doing and with the subs climbing you will be able to afford the repairs and you got and will get more sponsors.....as long as you keep it Mopar horse powered...love to see a hemi in a Stang! That gti with just a tune will pick up 100hp and 100tq and he needs some good tires and launch at a lower rpm

One of the last videos you were talking about replacing the 5.7 heads with either 6.1 or 6.4 heads. I'm looking forward to those videos. Will you be doing that yourself? Do you plan to? And, I wanted to ask about upgrading the flywheel to an aluminum one. Is that in your plan? Maybe you don't want to divulge all of the secrets, but I'd be interested to hear about all of your plans for the 5.7 motor. I just remembered you said you were going to do the swap for the hellcat motor, so maybe not too much planned for the 5.7, I guess. It's awesome you're going to swap, but I, for instance, have the 5.7 and I would be really interested to see what you're able to do with that instead of dropping in a new motor.
Hey you’re probably referring to the 6.4L truck intake manifold swap we will be doing! It adds quite a bit more power and we will be documenting that install and testing at the track to show the difference 💪

What is the rear end diff ratio? Pretty sure mine with the 3.21 and 20" wheels won't do that well.

I’ve got a 2016 1500 crew cab, hemi. 3.21’s LSD. Unfortunately the pcm is locked from Fiat…. Stupid. Any suggestions for power adders? Was looking at a Diablo sport tuner, but not sure yet.
You need to unlock pci . I believe they’re like 800-1000? If you buy one unlocked one
I think it would be cool to see what it will run with the lighter wheels/sticky tires, no tailgate, spare etc. Just what someone who wants to play with a stock daily at the track could set up in a few minutes. Great time for that set up though!

It is impressive but your lightning was significantly faster trapping 12 mph more that is ALOT. Sounds like he was just getting off the line much better which equaled the same et but in a typical race out on the street from a rolling start you would easily walk away. 109 is a strong trap speed for what you had.
