  • Five tips to improve the combat strategy. The video contains no spoilers of the stories of Enderal and no "secret" you cannot already get from the tips in the loading screens. It also refrains to show any character, location or other characteristic which might spoil the experience of new players. Enjoy!
This is my second video ever with an external microphone. Nothing fancy, online it's around 15 EUR, but I got it for free from a friend who bought it but did not use it (though, I made them delicious ramen). A real paradigm of low 😁 Still learning how to use it properly, but I think I'm getting somewhere. So, thanks to my friend.

I recently finished it on Master difficulty playing as an Archer/Assassin affinity. What I realised was very simple. When fighting at the beginning of the game no matter who you are planning to be, you'll have to use a bit of everything in order to survive the fights.
I was going for bows and sneak kills but before I reached the required gear and skill to actually start to enjoy my gameplay I was forced to use traps for my advantage, basic magic spells, summons and everything that came to my mind. Getting through the right zones it's actually not so hard to get through certain enemies if you'll start to understand the pattern of their attacks.
Dodging is really important so skip heavy armor completely. Keep an eye for mana regen consumables. Use sneak. Always summon, regen mp and attack from distance.

This is a helpful guide for newbies. Enderal is vastly different from Skyrim and I feel like most new players aren't going to expect such a drastic difficulty spike coming in. I remember even in the beginning fighting the mud elemental and being surprised how strong it was, which forced me to utilize my whole skillset and inventory, attack from afar with ranged, then head in with melee and always ready to block, always chugging potions. It felt very satisfying when I finally defeated it and taught me from the very start to take the game seriously and that strategy and preparation were absolutely necessary. Start every fight from ranged if you can, loot EVERYTHING and don't be stingy about using consumables; that's how I survived. Love your videos man, keep it up!

My same experience! I think the game wants us to try everything out in the start to find our own combat style. Great advice!

Same cheese as Skyrim. Keep summoning a minion and your enemies eventually die. It is cool that you pay a price when your apparition dies.

Patient and steady, a reliable strategy 👍

@@P.o.L Game AI has its limitations. Just too complicated to program NPC aggression to deal with ranged players who take their time. What they should have done was reduce mana regeneration, so you could only summon once in a long battle.

Wouldn't it be too unfair for mages? Arcane fever seems to me already a good limitation, and I like it lore-wise.

@@P.o.L Arcane fever only triggers from healing. That was a good limitation as healing was overpowered. You can beat anything if you can out heal it.

@@P.o.L Good point, would also have to drastically reduce casting cost of damage spells. In Skyrim I always cast a Flame Atronach instead of firebolt, because Flame Atronach was less mana per firebolt it shot off.

As to paralysis: the game becomes much easier after you get Irlanda's Grace (basically a paralysis-shooting staff) after visiting Old Miskahmur to complete Trails of the Past. It was so overpowered I used it only on rare occasions. However, on Master difficulty it might as well be really needed. Actually, why not to replay the game on Master? Thanks for the idea ;)
