Arteta does deserve criticism over the last couple of weeks but we can’t expect him to win every tactical battle every 3 days. If it ain’t Saka then it’s bleak. We need another player in the frontline as good as him. No team would feel comfortable tripling up on Saka if they felt we had another threat
I think the biggest issue for Arteta is we didnt improve on the attack this summer. Sterling is not the winger we needed or, IMO wanted. We needed a dynamic winger, someone like Kudus for example, who can give us a different attacking style, as he is direct with the ball. It also means by having a stronger depth on the wings, we can rest the likes of Saka and Martinelli or drop them for another player without a big drop off in quality. If they are not performing that is. The other fustration is City have lost their most important player (Rodri) and we cant seem to capitalise on that. Yes, we have had injuries ourselves and Odegaard is arguably our most important player. But to not have someone to come in and do his role to a good standard is not good at all. We cant expect him to play every game of the season anyway (injury a side). I know we shouldnt put all our expectation on Nwanieri, but he is the closest player we have to Odegaard, and Odegaard has even been coaching him one on one as well. We should give him a try from the start to really give him a chance to see if he can flourish. The other player i want to see more of is MLS. We didnt have a fit LB against newcastle and playing Timber there isnt always the best idea. By having players in their natural positions is better than moving players into other positions to cover for injured players (example being Partey at RB). Yes, he had a good game against Liverpool, but you cant expect Partey to put in a performance like that every week when coming up against fast players. It will also increase the chances of an injury to him. Like all other gunner fans, i am just really fustrated at the moment. I do believe Arteta can turn things around, but he needs to start trusting some players more and get the right players in to help in positions we are weakest (mainly forward positions).
Guys, just a bit of constructive criticism that I've picked up on several episodes - when you're asking the other host a question, I don't think it's great to give a long answer to your own question before giving them a chance to speak. Love the channel. 😉
Do you think more than the technical presence of Odegaard we miss the managerial aspect on the pitch. I haven’t seen our press broken through as easily for a long time - and I wonder if Jorginho/Zinny is the only member of the squad to adequately lead the press and build up.
That press was shocking, so is the build up, Odegaard is the guy who leads both. It aint a surprise. I also agree either jorginho or zinchenko should be in the lineup, I prefer Jorginho
@@sigfigronathexactly people are only looking at our on the ball actions ignoring our off the ball actions too, trossard is terrible when leading the press and ge presses half heartedly, hence the amount goals we conceded, last season we were one of the best off the ball teams in Europe now we look disjointed not because we have bad players or less talented players but, I honestly don't think there's a player in the world that do what ødegaard does for us
Maybe the owners got a whiff of his wheeling and dealing..all these deals with Chelsea, 35 m for vieira, marquinhios deal with brazilian club all smelled fishy
@@milindmatang He doesnt have free will, people like richard garlick and the kronkes sign off on signings. Also recruitment/scouting and coaches are the ones who recommend players
@@smellslikefreespirit I think its a mixture of things, Arteta has his signings like Jesus and Zinchenko, I know for a fact Nico Jover wanted Merino and Douglas luiz for the set plays. But Im sure all the coaches and recruitment staff and higher ups get together to discuss the potential signings. Cuz Arteta and Edu dont have time to watch Viera, Kiwior play right. So scouts, recruitment are needed for that.
You dont think one of the reasons Arsenal wanted to sign sesko is because he could see him taking Havertz role and Havertz going out to Saka, when Ødegaard isnt there and as an another outlet
Mikel had made a point of recruiting players who can play multiple positions. But despite their versatility, players will have one position they are brilliant at and Mikel as a coach is not playing his players where they absolutely thrive …. As a result everyone is played OUT of their best positions …. Between the injuries and Mikel’s rotation you have a pitch that is not optimum . The play then becomes a bit robotic and they are unable to give their best .

Thanks for this mate defs will keep that in mind moving fwd!

Why does Arteta insist on playing Partey as a right back while he is the best CDM in the camp??
Because of injuries, duh?

Partey didn’t start midfield it was trossard George
Its a structural problem. Arteta is overthinking or over coaching. The balance of the team is not right
Anyone else think that Tierney solves a lot of issues vs a low block? Gets Martinelli and Merino inside
No because he can’t stay fit and be available to be on the pitch
Edu leaving!?😮

Timber should have played as a free fullback to occupy the 4th line of attack and help Martinelli/LW. His role was incredibly redundant
Could Arteta have switched to a 343 formation?

I'm of the opinion that the point of sport is to improve and be consistent.
I don't like the eg. With Ethiopia don't make us dream
