  • You all know that I am a big fan of wines from the Southern Rhone in France. I am a big fan of Grenache and find the Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre combination intoxicating.
Some of my favorite wines IN THE WORLD are from the Gigondas appellation and today we taste a couple of the 2012 releases from Chateau Saint Damien.
Gigondas wines remain underpriced or is it that they overdeliver value? Whatever it is, I can't get enough of them.
The wines can be up to 80% Grenache and a minimum of 15% Syrah/Mourvedre and no more than 10% of other red varietals. This leaves quite a bit of interpretation to the winemakers from year to year.
The wines tasted in this episode are below:
    2012 Domaine Saint Damien
    La Louisiane
    Gigondas

Thanks for watching and for the note. Haven't had any of the 2019s but am going to look for them.

@@DrinkinItIn Wonderfull wine and good video. :) Only thing that was weird was the wine spitter, which looked like popcorn wrap. Maybe am mistaken.

@@lucienlachance2852 Thanks so much, appreciate the kind words.
My spit cup is a plastic popcorn cup that was modeled after the paper ones you'd get at events. I use it when I do a lot of filming at once.
Some people don't mind it, some people hate it.
