    Perfect timing! I just bought a bunch of French wine and I have a 100% cote du rhone grenache and some blends from the region I am about to try. Sinsault was not something I saw when out shopping recently. This might be my favorite video thus far, thank you!

    • @NoSediment
      @NoSediment  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank You. 🙏🏻 Cinsault I think is quite difficult to find as a single varietal wine, at least it took me a while. :(

    Just loving your videos as a whole. Joined this channel when it was 800-and-something subs and now I see it rocking up to over 7k. Keep blasting those videos.

    Nice job with Roberts on the behind the scenes (camera) shots with the subtle shake… gives the video another dimension… Clos des Papes is the wine that turned me onto CdP and fine French wine in general

    • @NoSediment
      @NoSediment  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed! Clos des Papes such a great wine, I love how they are able to preserve a lightness in wine, even though it is still ripe and rich. 🤤🍷

    Fun and informative vid. "Blueberry crumble"...mmmm, great descriptor, Penfolds is legendary and Bin 28 is quite affordable. Beaucastel is my fave Chateneauf but i need to try more. Good job guys!

    • @NoSediment
      @NoSediment  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank You. :) 🍷🍷🍷 Beucastel is great and I love it as well, though some might comment it is showing brett. I don’t have problem with that, therefore I am usually happy to have a sip of that wine! ✨🍷

      I'm ok with a little funk lol. Some Brett is ok if just a bit smoky but not the gross manure smell.

    • @NoSediment
      @NoSediment  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For me the same, I also don’t mind a little brett. But in my crowd there are not a lot of us. 🫣😅

    Love this concept! Hope to see more blind tastings in the future. You'r better off script so keep it on! Really fun to watch!

    • @NoSediment
      @NoSediment  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank You and thank You. :) the script helps me, because I can rumble about wine too much. There’s a lot of ‘talk’ cut out. I always want to explain what I am explaining. 😂🍷 but thank You for the compliment. 🙏🏻

    I’ve never done a blind tasting where I had to guess that the wine was. The level three WSET only makes you describe the wines using the SAT.

    • @NoSediment
      @NoSediment  ปีที่แล้ว

      Most of my blind tastings usually have to end up with some educated guess on wines origin and grape. I thought it was common expectation. 😅 But of course understanding wine is more important. ☺️

    Have tried all of the wines from Proyecto Garnachas de España. Super interesting project to preserve old Garnacha vines in Spain. They are all fantastic but also very different, good intro to the style for anyone interested.
    (Also incredibly well priced for the quality)

    • @NoSediment
      @NoSediment  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I used to work the importer of these wines. Price - quality ratio is great, and labels are epic. Really great wines, and shows off Garnacha’s potential! 💯🍷

    Paul Avril's Clos des Papes 2015... I actually bought it for my 30th birthday, in magnum (didn't last long enough) served it blind to my friends, a little cool in black glasses ... and they thought it was Burgundy haha

      I am never judging too harsh mistakes made on blind tasting. I have seen Worlds top sommeliers make mistakes on the stage. What matters more that You read the quality and the structure. 😅 And after all, Grenache is often called the Pinot Noir of the South. 😉

    Great selection, but as an Australian, the only time I drink Penfolds is when someone gives me a bottle. So much better at the same price point of Kalimna.

    • @NoSediment
      @NoSediment  ปีที่แล้ว

      Do You mean that other Australian red wines are of higher quality at the same price range? If so, I agree, and probably more to choose from if You are in Australia! 🫣🫣😅

      @NoSediment  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven’t tasted a lot of Itata Valley wines, but that is not my perception of their wines. ☺️ I will need to taste more to see.. 🤔

    • @juanito2109
      @juanito2109 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NoSediment There is top producers that know how to use the grape and the vulcanic soil (this are the ones that export wine) But a bulk majority of wines, especially the wild grapes like pais are in my view very unbalanced. But to taste this simpler wines you will have to take sometime and travel to Chile.
