It was a show car that they used to promote the game and later stayed collecting dust in a garage until 4 years later it was auctioned in 2015 but I can't find who bought it or the amount they paid for it. It was initially worth $125k but given the special NFS stuff and how it was unique in a sense it probably sold for half a million or a quarter million. What matters is I love it. Favorite thing about the game for me honestly (that and the score).
Usually, one of the rivals in this game, Calvin Garrett and his red Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, He's kind of hard to beat honestly. He obviously reminds me of Toru Sato from Need For Speed Most Wanted. You know, the one who drives that black Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren. Calvin's SLS is pretty much the exact same design and technology as Toru's SLR. Because it's speed and handling is pretty compared to it.
If EA didn't kill Black Box, we would have a new NFS much better. And I think, nowadays, Need for speed, thanks to Black Box, would beat Forza Horizon. So OUTRAGEOUS game, but so underrated R.I.P. Black Box 2002 - 2013😥😥😥
If black box was able to develop things like this while being rushed by EA, only god knows what they couldve developed with appropriate time and resources
I actually played a Carbon arcade machine by the local Peter Pipers Pizza like 10+ years ago. I remember I went 1v1 with a woman as I drove the mustang gt. Tbh the handling was too tight I guess it’s intended for casual players. Trust me, I played Carbon several times in PS2, PS3, and PC. I won the race and the woman said to me,” your ass..” Sadly the arcade machine is removed.
If EA didn't rush Black Box, then maybe Black Box would still be around today.
This game will be 10 years old this November.
