I just got Outlaws on a Black Friday sale from Amazon. Maybe it helps that I got the game post-update, but I'm really enjoying it so far. The story isn't the most original, but I love the gritty and punkish atmosphere the game has, and the feeling of being a morally gray bandit. You can really tell the amount of love and care the devs put into designing each world. You really feel immersed in the Star Wars setting. The stealth missions don't feel punishing or annoying, and the gunfights feel fun and exciting, for the most part. I even got to play a round of Sabaac, and got the hang of it pretty quickly. As for Kay, while she isn't the most interesting protagonist, I can't really say I hate her. She never feels annoying or poorly written, and she's likable enough for you to not mind playing as her. Overall, Outlaws is a really underrated game that didn't deserve its terrible rep. It's really Ubisoft's fault for that.
Star Wars Outlaws has been one of my favorite open world games I've ever played. I love sneaking through the Imperial bases! I didn't like the flying in the outer space part of the game. But thankfully, there wasn't much of that. I'm excited that Ubisoft have already fixed several of the issues you mentioned in the new patch that came out today. They gave us the freedom to play as we want to play. Now, we can hold on to any weapon we pick up and choose to play either in stealth of go guns a blazing. Also, we can switch shoulder views while aiming down the gun sight by clicking down on the left thumb stick.
Regardless of its issues, which EVERY game has, SWO gets hated on because the dweebs who can't play a female protagonist. If Kay had been your standard generic looking male protagonist these issues would be considered minor and overlooked.
I've seen so many people completely trash this game before the recent patch and it deserved it as someone who bought it day one and it deserved it. Not only that but nobody complained about the protagonist bring female. That's just an argument that brain dead morons like you make by blaming the players rather than blaming the issues with the game.
I agree 7/10 isn't a bad game My brother actually convinced me to give it a shot and I did loved every moment of this game I platinumed it haha and it made me rewatch the star wars movies for episode 4 to 6 😂
I personally love the game even more with their recent fixes (and there are still coming) they're basically listening to the players and overhauling the game 👌
I really enjoyed my time with it, my biggest thing was that I thought it wasn't long enough. The ending felt like a big mid game shake up, not an ending though.
I bought the game few days ago and I so far reall like game. I glad i was spared all the bs during launch. On PC definetly graphics of the year. Gameplay is fun and I like that this is a story of a thief in a star wars universe and not a star wars story. It has this fun adventure vibe that I like so far. I believe that star wars community is just toxic. I read so many comments about Kay being able to knock tf out stormtrooper like this game is not PG12 and we dont make jokes out of stormtroopers for decades now. For me i got this game on 8/10.
Also it reminds me of the TV side of the Star Wars fandom. They say The Acolyte is the worst media ever created, yet PURE GARBAGE like Birdemic and Turkish Star Wars exists
You can’t compare this Star Wars title to the Jedi series its apples and oranges! I enjoyed this game despite a few issues with gameplay that hopefully today’s patch solves!
Have my doubts about how much work they're truly gonna put into it. It's gonna be pretty good eventually but I don't see it getting a Cyberpunk level comeback and being considered one of the best open world games of all time like I consider that to be. I'm sure there are devs there that want to stick with it to that point but they probably won't be allowed that much time and budget. I hope so though.
@@calelsun yeah definitely not Cyberpunk levels of good. The base game doesn’t have the depth like Cyberpunk has but I believe the game can improve immensely and be considered a great star wars game with time.
@Trench-coat my biggest issue at launch was that it felt like star wars WatchDogs but didn't feel as polished as watchdogs imo. I had more fun at the time playing the asteroid game arcade cabinet in the game. I hope they rework some of the encounters you come across too. I remember coming across some people at a small farm or something being attacked by bandits and I killed them then approached the people I'd helped and they just acted like nothing had happened. Good sized battle with at least 6 or 7 baddies and no reaction whatsoever.
the biggest problem i have with these type of games is that they are unfinished and need patches to reach their potential. And then comes ubisofts scummie pricing for DLC content on an unfinished day 1 launch. this is the problem that i have with most games and why i dislike most new releases.
I totally agree with you. That’s why I always advise never buying a game on release because you are paying the most money for the worst possible version of the game. Wait a little, save money and get a better game. Buying on release is overrated imo
Opinions…they’re all different. I’ll pass on this Ubitrash. I’ve been playing games too long to call it good. If you enjoy it, more power to you. We all have different standards.
You bring up a valid point! It's true that innovation is crucial for keeping things fresh and exciting in the development world but I think it's hard when making a game for a franchise that caters to millions. Tough balance!
Not a bad game you say ? For the price they are asking with all the bugs, restarting your game, terrible AI,can't climb ladders etc with dropped weapons, punching storm trooper's on the head with helmets on. It's trash.
@@Trench-coat If you like it that's fine. When you get older you will see why this was a bad game, and will appreciate a great game when it comes along. RDR2 is a great game. This is not.
Never said you said it was a great game. Just pointing out what a great game is by mentioning RDR2. Your video was great and your channel will grow quickly if this is the type of in depth you go on your reviews. 👍 Just because we disagree on what a good game is don't mean I didn't appreciate the time you put into this. 👍
You have low standards. Settle for slop, and slop is what we shall receive. The people that still settle for lower than mediocre games are in part responsible for the horrible state of the industry today.

No offense, but you need to play more open world games.

Easily one of my most overhated games of all times. Next to the likes of PvZ Battle for Neighborville and Paper Mario: Color Splash.
Nice to see someone highlighting the good parts of an imperfect game (which most games are). Thanks for the honest video!
Absolutely! If every game were perfect, we’d be out of content to critique!
Great video! Excited that the 1.4 version will be my first playthrough 🙌🏻
The new update slaps
I'm in the same boat and super excited! Once I finish Valhalla lol

If I could vote this game for GOTY, today, I would.

Awesome!
Having a blaster with this game, it has some great elements, I hope they keep making content for it.
Still one more expansion coming next year!

Just do a Cyberpunk give it time...let them cook
