See, here's the thing. The reason channels like this are successful, is presenters like Stephanie don't just rattle off a recipe. She shares concepts and ideas that reinforce the recipe's foundation. No one's trying to copy or replace your granny's or anyone else's cooking, because face it, no one, or mostly no one makes it like "so & so" did. We also need to remember that maybe the way uncle ted made it wasn't the way their "so & so" made it, and they had to adapt an ingredient or two, to make a close rendition of the recipe. The beautiful thing about a recipe is most of the time, it can be altered to your taste and your family's taste, too. When we reproduce a dish that a loved one used to make for us, and we make that dish our own is a way to keep that loved one's memory alive. I think it's short sighted when we say, "that's not how..." this one or that one made it, because it's a slap in the presenter's face. The world is wonky enough and it's nice to have a place where we can all relax and learn from each other. I'd rather know five different ways to make something, just in case you find yourself without an ingredient or two. So try to remember, It's not personal, no one kicked your puppy, no one line jumped you and no one's trying to besmirch a cherished memory of a loved one. So dig yourselves before you start popping wise in the comments. But, if anyone still insists on being a butthole. There's a simple solution; just go away...it's as easy as that. Love, peace & taco grease- CLM.
@Charles 1968.....You have spoken a mouthful of truth. The original ingredients of any dish are not found all over the world. So with people migrating, immigrating or having been enslaved had to find another ingredient to replace the original. And still they managed to create delicious dishes that we’re eating to this very day. And what about the recipes created because you only had this or that or the recipes that were created due to a “happy” mistake. So yeah let’s be respectful to the cooks and lick our fingers (because the napkins wouldn’t enjoy it as much as our tongues 😂). I’m am not of this young lady’s culture, but I find myself drooling over her family’s recipes (and over my phone😂). And I love the “Love peace and taco grease”
This is so beautiful, I would love o try this but I'll have to watch this a few dozen more times. I just started watching and you two are so much fun. I can tell how much you love one another, you are such a blessing. Thankyou
I never would have thought to make my own molcajete, but now that you have shared your recipe and techniques, you have given me the courage to dive in. Man I can't wait. Stephanie, you and your sister Claud are amazing, Thank you
Oh my goodness. Girl, is there anything you don’t know how to cook? You are amazing. Thank you for this video and recipes. You’re 100 percent awesome!!
I am a molcajete fanatic. I tried my first one several years ago when a Honduran family opened a small restaurant here and I was an instant fan. After they shut down I have been in search of that recipe, it had orange slices in it. Everywhere I go if molcajete is on the menu I order it and even though it not the same I am never disappointed. I just found you today and I can't wait to try your recipe, thank you for sharing!
Omg girl!! I started watching your videos this week and I’m 🤯. Loving your videos so much. Especially the one on how to cure the clay pots and molcajete. Can’t wait to see more of your videos!!

Oh goodness I hit the like button before even watching the video!!! That's the kind of food that you think "It feels so wrong but if feels so right, mmm yeah!" oh my goodness!!! Wonderful!
My wife and I had this for the 1st time visiting a restaurant in Salida Colorado. We both were blown away. And we are from S.E. Texas. An area where mexican restaurants are very common, but we never had anything like this! I'm looking forward to surprising her with your recipe. It looks very similar to the dish we had there! And it has taken a bit of Scooby-Doo work to unravel the mystery of what the dish was even called. I'm glad to have found your video! Thank you for sharing!

Just made this for lunch with fresh tomatoes and onion charred, and I combined that with some salsa verde and salsa roja I had on hand. I also used some leftover birria-barbacoa (I used your barbacoa recipe and process combined with another birria recipe, PLUS I marinated the beef in coca-cola and coffee overnight, the flavor is amazing) and fresh queso fresco with toasty tortillas. Soooooooo yummy and warming, and filling, like you can just feel the warmth radiate through your veins, it's so comforting.
I am so excited to try this recipe! I recently made your birria recipe for Sunday dinner and it was a hit! My husband couldn't stop smiling. He said it reminded him of what his grandmother would make in Mexico. Thank you ladies for helping me be such a hit in the kitchen with husband and kids. You ladies do such an amazing job!
Hello from Ohio, I’ve been watching your tutorials, and taking notes 📝 your recipes are on point plus with lots of thought into your kindness and sharing your recipes thumbs up 👍 lastly I’m a newbie on your channel again TFS 😀
Girls! You hit it out of the park today! I've never seen a molcajete used like that and it looks so wonderful! I was glued watching each step. It also happened that I was working on my shopping list at the same time...somehow chiles and queso mysteriously made it on the list 😁 thanks for always showing me something new!!
I have learned so much from you...it's amazing!!! And that's saying a lot because I am 78 years old and grew up with my "texmex " family but never could duplicate their dishes because there were no recipes..a pinch here, a handful there. Thank you so much for breaking it down. Love you....
Omg que rico se mira wow. Se me a salir el chamako jajajaja con tanto antojo. Your the best I can't wait to get all the ingredients to make this. Have a bless day and greetings from Austin Texas.

I absolutely love watching you cook. I just broke my foot and can’t go shopping for ingredients, but I can hardly wait to try so many of your recipes. I know it won’t be like yours, but I’m dying to give it a try. I shouldn’t do too bad because I watch your videos almost 24/7 while I’m laid up with my broken foot and ribs.
Glorious food, impressive multi-tasking skills! You are so creative in the kitchen. I look forward to watching your videos every day and I have to admit, I haven't been disappointed once.
This looks delicious n luv how you are so patient with your cooking not to mention Mz Steph se nota how you do it with luv n care ❤💚💙💝. #ohyeah# Hi Cloud 👋💚💙
This is a signature dish at a restaurant called Monarcas here in Florida. I waited tables there and was always so scared to carry this thing out to the tables. But people loved the presentation of the dish itself. I used to call it a volcano bad hat was about 8 years ago. That's exactly what it reminded me of the sight the sound. I've never tried making it but I'm inspired now. For some reason I was thinking that the only way to make it was over a flame in a restaurant. I'm trying it on the grill. 🤔 Thanks for making it look so easy.
My my my so yummy!! You ladies are so cute!! That looks da bomb. Com omg my mouth is watering and I think I have to pick up my jaw off the floor keep up the good work.

Mira Doña, this is some next level stuff, I have had Molcajete Bistec before and have been intimidated in recreating this dish but you made it seem easy, it's basically assembling this dish all the individually cooked ingredients, thanks so much Amigas, I think I can do it.
