It hurts me that i can understand the game while olexa is confused , even tho it's first time i see this game😅😅
Ya 2 + 5 is the charge plus the attack plus. Is a (1+1)+(1+4)=7
So the same way the dice with the poison symbol affects enemies, your charge dice had a passive shield up
You did not take 6 damage from that sucker just spawning, you took 1 damage to roll the bonus die on the chest and you took 5 damage from poison in the chest.
Also, die effects do affect the bonus die, but you're less likely to roll them (1/3rd of the time vs 1/2 of the time)
Game gives good Paper Mario vibes in style and good headache-but-the-good-kind with strategizing
The status effect is on the die and is activated if the symbol pops up on the roll in combat. The Bars under the die in the die placing menu tells you how many faces of the die will have the status effect (does seem to be random faces each roll), for the main die (on top) it's 3 IE 50% chance to get it, and if you put it on the stat die (the bottom row) it's only 2 faces so a 1/3 chance to get it on it. Difference dice may have different amounts of bars under them but I only watch 2 vids on this so IDK for sure. It seems like a kinda simple system that's poorly explained.

Tyler I dont know what you were looking at but the dice were not changing. Neither the top or the bottom. Either way this seems like a game that would get more and more fun as you played and got the hang of it

It means that if you go below 1/2 hp, it's added. But only if you have turns of the effect remaining.

The shield symbol on the die is what was giving you shields at the end of turn. But other than that the stats die are a mystery to me cause they roll numbers that don't make sense to me.
The stat die has a set number. You can add to the bonus puting a upgraded dice there instead or beating a boss to manually upgrade the stats after clearing a lvl. If you charge you added the charge stat temporary.
I genuinely feel like the gun and shield your character was using was a borderlands reference

It seems like the game throws tons of stats and mechanics and then doesn't explain half of them or poorly explains them. I'm interested in playing but until the game gets a heavy tutorial I don't really want to fumble around guessing what's what
There is a tutorial but yeah it doesn’t explain some of this stuff in depth. The dev said the tutorial is getting redone with more detail so fingers crossed
The tutorial has been redone and it spends more time explaining what Stats and the Stat Dice are. Those were the biggest areas of confusion. It's also stripped out a lot of the text which could cause fatigue early on.

Yea I noticed it too. Furry characters are getting really popular in gaming. More variety is always cool!
The game is fun. Just downloaded it and died 5 times to a first enemy. Fells like game just gives you exactly 0 options to win.
If you're playing as Finn, make good use of the Charged! buff and the bonus dice he gets from being at 20+ battery. Open some chests before doing battles to get stronger dice and don't use the Bonus Rolls to avoid the chest turning into a Mimic. And definitely don't fight the miniboss (double ghost tile)
Since you've played as Finn once, you'll have unlocked Dotty who new players have had great success with after trying out Finn.
