- This is the first film we made together back in 1999. We wanted to shoot on super 8 so it would look like all the old home movies from the 60's of people enjoying their backyard pools and the "American Dream". We skated 70+ pools and shot a couple hundred rolls of super 8 film. This film kicked off our more than 20 years of making films together as Six Stair.

Real shit , don't be mistaken.
Hey, this was one of the best skate videos I've watched.
Amazing work getting all that footage from all over the country.
I started skating when I was about 5 years old, around 1970. My Black Knight skateboard with clay wheels. I grew up about a mile from the beach in L.A. , about 2 miles from Venice, Marina Del Rey area. All these movies and videos from back in the day are literally my childhood and teen years skat1ng with the Dog Town boys and ZFlex, surfing, Marina Skatepark was basically in my backyard and me and my friends were some of the first people to skate that park when it opened. Watching Hosoi skate with his dad when Christian was like 8 or 9 years old.
Those were the days, in the mid to late '70s into the '80s then all the parks closed, skateboarding became a crime, ypu couldnt skate anywhere without the cops showing up. But some if us kept skating and then it came back and we were considered old guys at 20, 22, 24 years old Pat Ngoho and I and other friends were skating with Hosoi, two younger dudes from my neighborhood Scott Oster and Aaron Murray were riding for Dog Town and I knew Red Dog Jim Muir from way back and I went to school and was close friends with 3 different people who played in Suicidal Tendencies. I knew Jay Adams since I was a little kid also from skating and surfing and from the neighborhood smoking weed and drinking beers in jr high and high school, house parties.
It was a great time to grow up and to live where I did.
Again, excellent film. Amazing footage great music well edited. It was a pleasure to watch
