    I love how the final deadly sin is presented in a way everyone can relate to, unlike some of the other scenarios in the movie. There's practically no one that can't fully understand what Mills did at the end and why he did it. It really hammered home the point that the deadly sins exist within everyone.

      Ya, the worst way to evaluate movies is to question if they are "suitable" for a new generation. Especially when the "new generation" is clutching their pearls at literally everything.

    That "7th sense" line was brilliance, lol.
    Taking the "6th sense" expression and calling it "7th" cos of the movie title, was great! 😀
    And speaking of The Sixth Sense, now THERE is a movie you will LOVE. It's one of those mind-blower plot twist movies.
    Other titles along those lines would include The Others, Identity, and Passengers (with Anne Hathaway, not Jennifer Lawrence).

    "What's in the box?"
    Fun Fact: When filming the "sloth" victim scene, the SWAT officers were NOT told that the victim was still alive. When the victim coughs and scares the SWAT officers, that reaction is real.
    Standing Together Fact: The ending in the movie is the ending in the original draft of the screenplay that the actors and director had signed on to. Producer Arnold Kopelson had it re-written, and the ending was changed to John Doe kidnapping Tracy, with Mills and Somerset racing to save her life. When David Fincher, Brad Pitt, and Morgan Freeman read the new ending, they all demanded that the original ending be put back in or they wouldn't do the movie.
    Art Over Ego Fact: The producers intended that Kevin Spacey should receive top billing at the start of the movie, but he insisted that his name not appear in the opening credits, so as to surprise the audience with the identity of the killer. To compensate, he is listed twice in the closing credits, once before the credits start rolling and once in the rolling credits in order of appearance. Another advantage from Spacey's point of view, as he saw it, was that he was excluded from the film's marketing during its release, meaning he didn't have to make any public appearances or do any interviews.

  • @Cifer77

    What I find amazing is how essential David was to John Doe's plan. For this entire thing to work, it required a detective to be someone John Doe could admire and envy, Somerset is so jaded he can't be that detective. Then think about how John Doe has been planning this for a year, and David only transferred recently. Makes me wonder if he had anything to do with David's transfer.

    • @goldenageofdinosaurs7192

    • @monsterlair

      I think John Doe had made plans for much, much longer than a year. He simply put his plan in motion a year before, when he tied Victor to the bed.

    • @melissawaterman7159
      @melissawaterman7159 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nah pretty sure that was just a coincidence. John was planning this for a long time and it was put in motion when he tied Victor to the bed. David's transfer just happened to coincide with that.

    • @fernandodeleon7466
      @fernandodeleon7466 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't know, but there is a certain moment in the movie that is so clever : Once Doe turns himself in, no one mentions the two sins that remain, but if you think about them, Mills is angry all the time, and Summerset has several reasons to envy Mills and his wife... then you hear that there are still two left bodies and you think: "oh no..."

      New movies are mostly garbage. Fking Marvel clowns in stupid spandex. No original ideas, too risky. Straight to Netflix, made for 16-year-olds and the Chinese market. Nothing original, minimize risks. Actors are in plastic masks, hardest part of acting now is doing steroids and working out. Terrible terrible era for cinema

      What's funny/irritating is the idea that the past was some kind of fucking utopia where everything was better...miserable conservative fucks like yourself seem unable to grasp how illogical this notion is (I believe the technical term for this mental disorder is "declinism")...
      Do you not realize that, back in "the good old days", there were other miserable conservative fucks saying the same miserable conservative shit, "everything new is terrible" "everything old was great" etc etc

    You are one lovely and intelligent woman. It was truly a pleasure watching this reaction with you, and the camera stare when he mentioned about his pretty wife was just the right touch, and right on time. Kevin Spacey was awesome, I get chills down my spine every time at the end when he looks at him and says, "do you hear me detective", I knew right then that he was about to drop a bomb on detective Mills. What a movie, so disturbing, yet fascinating, eerie, and intriguing. One hell of a reaction mi amour, looking forward to seeing more from you.

    Se7en is one of my all time favourite movies. I have seen it in the cinema back in 95 ( when I was 26, just as you are now! ). In those years there were so many awesome movies I think it was the golden age of cinema: Se7en, Pulp Fiction, Silence of the lambs, Trainspotting, Fight Club, reservoir Dogs, The usual suspects and on and on ...
    You figured the deadly sins out very fast, well done!
    Nice Sloth jump scare... The whole audience in the cinema had the same reaction :D
    It is not like you have a seventh sense .. :D .. not a sixth but a seventh sense. Miss Biss is smart.
    You shave off the hair because when you have to remove the tape IT HURTS when you also tear out the hair.
    I loved this reaction. Your analyses at the shows you grasped the way the makers intended to make you find out if one of the detectives is actually the killer by showing they are similar to the killer. That we all, as humans, have our sins .... Thank you so much. ~ Vals

    RE Somersets Conversation with Tracy... Tracy has not decided a that point if she wanted to keep the baby. Telling mills about it could be a problem because I think that she feels he might talk her out of having it. Somerset explains that he had to make this choice that that he talked her into not having her baby, and though he still feels it was the right decision, he regrets it every day. Sometimes doing what seems is the right thing, may not be the desirable thing. Remember, Mills brought her here for a chance at a new life in a new place. How does she tell him she hates it here and asks him to not only give up his job and asks him to move out of the city and oh, BTW, "I'm pregnant" Asking Somerset for advice is appropriate. He is also a cop and understands about what kind of position this would put Mills in.

    I always find chronocentrism interesting. She is contemplating whether anything that happened or was created before she was born is worth anything. This is common with the young (I did it as well). She will eventually realize that most everything worthwhile was created before you were born.

    You should react to Dark TV series if you learned a little german. Great show 3 seasons.

    I highly recommend you David Finchers "The Game", it's his best movie together with Fight Club and Se7en ✌️

    Bisscute you should watch Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood if you haven't yet. This show reminded me of it. It's a great anime with 64 episodes.
