It’s not a massive concern for myself but if you don’t mind could you catch a few flights down to Avalon airport in Australia so I could watch it in 4k on your lap top? I wouldn’t expect you to do all the hard work of course I’ll drive the 15mins to the airport to pick you up and supply snacks and coffee? See you soon 👍🏻 Cheers Pat 🇦🇺 😂😂😂
"I've got all the transmission lines in...I think" I've definitely said that before changing the radiator on my wife's H3, and ended up with the whole underside real shiny on the test drive 🤣
It's nice to see Jr back to his roots, got to love the old garage... Only the channel OGs remember how Jr used to fix all his cars in his garage way before the shop... Still looking forward to a shop update. Hopefully there's something planned in the near future.
I did the 50k service on my truck last weekend, had the trans fluid changed in addition to the diff/ 4x4 system... It is amazing how much smoother it drives and shifts now, almost better than when it was brand new.
John work is impressive installing the transmission in garage and the starter its crazy. I think you did very good job and your friend he is really funny. I can't wait for the new update video on the Hummer.
Nice to see you tighten the battery connectors the amount I see just push them on is stupid. Great to see it driving well and shifting smooth. I think someone is going to get a nice Hummer when you have finished.
Loved the super troopers reference. I was thinking it and then it was said “we already serviced it, we can’t service it any more” “we’re already pulled over!” 😂
Blue Man Group ABSOLUTELY needs to be experienced LIVE…..YOU WILL NEVER FORGET IT!👍👍😁….and i am OLD but it still impressed me. Second only to live Japanese taiko drums…..
At the shop, we would ALWAYS keep a vehicle in drive while topping a transmission with fluid. This would help bring it to full operation temperature, as well as fully purging air from the cooler. With that said, not all installs are the same.
I just noticed that OReillyPowered tag JR you're killing me haha... Powered by Mazda, Honda, Ford stickers were all the rage 20 years ago. You should get a Powered by O'Reilly sticker man. Maybe a whole set for all the future beaters...
i enjoyed my H3. It was a pretty capable little suv. The 5 cylinder was a dog on top end but had decent low end torque. Mine ate the crappy plastic delco radiators. I had to do that job twice. The sunroof also leaked and screwed with the security system so sometimes it wouldn't start until after it dried out. but, you can tighten the torsion bars and easily stick 33's under it and 35's with a little rubbing. I still want to own an H3T Alpha
That Mickey Mantle haircut is styling on you John Ross.....nice flashback to the 60's, you need a string necktie, sport coat, slacks, cigarette and you could work for NASA during the Saturn V testings.
You could've got a reman unit for $1800 which includes a 5 year warranty and a brand new converter! wow that was expensive for a rebuild, but understandable for labor!
What I do not miss working in a transmission shop??? Smelling like transmission fluid 6 days of a week. 5 days work, 1 day off work still scrubbing, yet smelling of transmission fluid, then finally 1 day smelling clean. Then the dreaded... back to work.
It's projects like that that make me think that there are many times during that you either think to yourself or say out loud how much you miss those Bendpak's.
6L80 hummer h2 owner here JR. Our TCMs are still built into the PCM as one unit. Also I never trust gm coolant quick disconnects. If they even drip, it’s time to be replaced because they leave you stranded eventually. Ask me how I know.
I just had a trans cooler line blow off on the freeway. Coasted 2 miles off the freeway and had it towed home. Fixed the line, topped off the trans and took it for a drive. I completely cooked 4 5 6 clutches. Trans is out and apart on the bench getting rebuilt. Trans safety latches matter😉
Now you have me wondering if one of, if not THE, main reasons so many otherwise nice H3s are showing up on third tier used car lots in our area are the same ones you ran into, but nobody wanted to spend the money and/or time to actually fix them.
Thanks for the video as always JR..I can’t help but wonder since the tranny shop said nothing was wrong if it was something simple. Years ago I had a dipstick o-ring go bad and it would leak all over the place. As you probably know it’s the o -ring at the top of the pan which the dipstick fits into..was that something you checked? Thanks man and keep up the awesome videos
They brought the Hummer to Australia, for government evaluation.. For high power-line inspection vehicles in the outback.. They Fell apart, just like the Jeep.. We stayed with 70 series land Cruiser.. Hummer like Jeep.. is Pretend 4x4 Junk..
I had encoder errors on my H2 and there was a TSB that said to cycle the unit several times to clear the fault. Apparently there are contacts that get dirty and don't indicate position. If it's not a wire, that might help.
I stopped using rockauto because the last two times I ordered, the shipping was just as much as the parts themselves. And shipping is paid on every part, not on entire order. Much cheaper just running to local parts store.
If I could help Watch JR Goes put the transmission back in the Hummer H3 I would drink the shots of whiskey and cold Bartle Skeets with him, and pack up the Hash Pipe with Rocky and get all schmoked up with him
i miss the morning vid daily from the old shop. The current format is nice, but not the quality of the former vids. How its goin with the search for the new house/garage?
Another video stuck in processing, YT says it will be 4k in 30 minutes 🍻
I'm not getting any sound after the first 5 seconds....
Don't worry most people watch it on there phone in the toilet 😉 guess what i am doing now. ..
@@tuneskramer69 I love guessing games... Ummm, are you making brownies?
360p on my 32" monitor lmao
It’s not a massive concern for myself but if you don’t mind could you catch a few flights down to Avalon airport in Australia so I could watch it in 4k on your lap top? 😂😂😂
Respect on doing that on the garage floor.
It’s not fun, I can tell you that much 😬
@WatchJRGo never fun on the floor but that's how I learned and all I know at this point lolol
The only one TH-camr who stood true to himself and his work.
This was my favorite episode so far because of the amount of keeping it lose that took place.
"I've got all the transmission lines in...I think" I've definitely said that before changing the radiator on my wife's H3, and ended up with the whole underside real shiny on the test drive 🤣
If you haven't been burned by those quick disconnects you haven't worked on cars! Gotta react fast before it pumps all the fluid out 😬
It's nice to see Jr back to his roots, got to love the old garage... Only the channel OGs remember how Jr used to fix all his cars in his garage way before the shop... Still looking forward to a shop update. Hopefully there's something planned in the near future.
I really miss him in a shop.

John Ross for president 2024 #keepinitloose 🤙
I love when Gabe is there because all the good movie references come out lol
John work is impressive installing the transmission in garage and the starter its crazy. I think you did very good job and your friend he is really funny.
I can't wait for the new update video on the Hummer.
Man, Time to Start is such a great song. Totally nailed it!
Another great project completed. JR is a remarkable problem solver. Cool.
Nice to see you tighten the battery connectors the amount I see just push them on is stupid. Great to see it driving well and shifting smooth. I think someone is going to get a nice Hummer when you have finished.
“John Ross, all wheels, all the time, keepin it loose.” Had me dead lol 😂😂
The way to fix the 4 wheel drive actuator is up, up, down, down, a, b, a, b, select, start... and she will engage the flux capacitor immediately 🤙
Great dialogue in this video.
Loved the super troopers reference. I was thinking it and then it was said “we already serviced it, we can’t service it any more” “we’re already pulled over!” 😂
🤣
It takes minutes with the magic of editing
Blue Man Group ABSOLUTELY needs to be experienced LIVE…..YOU WILL NEVER FORGET IT!👍👍😁….and i am OLD but it still impressed me. Second only to live Japanese taiko drums…..

You are a genius!!!!! I have gone broke with bad mechanics who can’t work on my H3 2010. Engine, transmission, ect…….
Classic JR and Gabe “keeping it loose “. Great banter!
Good to see Old Man Sanchez in todays video.
🍺😉👍🏼
Your bro is onto something encourage him to keep up with the John Ross American icon.
I just noticed that OReillyPowered tag JR you're killing me haha... Powered by Mazda, Honda, Ford stickers were all the rage 20 years ago. You should get a Powered by O'Reilly sticker man. Maybe a whole set for all the future beaters...
Are you running for a local office? John Ross: " A man of the people!"
No lol, Gabe just came up with that 😂
'Keepin it loose' merch coming..
The prices on these things are going nuts. Stoked to see a win on this one! Colorado content next? 5cyl 5sp swapping mine next week 🙌

20:00 No zip ties, "Keeping it loose."
*GABE* in the house -- well garage.
👋🏽😁👍🏽
You make it look so easy. Dealing with people on FB marketplace has been driving me insane 🤣
It's what I imagine taking a used car to an actual flea market would be like. Insanity.
Nice Harry Carey reference!!!
Glad you caught it!
That Mickey Mantle haircut is styling on you John Ross.....nice flashback to the 60's, you need a string necktie, sport coat, slacks, cigarette and you could work for NASA during the Saturn V testings.
A hotel here in Austin has a stretched Nisan Leaf.

loving the vids man, been subscribed since the helix vids!
I am waiting for the "Keeping it loose" merchandise to drop in the store.
Spontaneous Remission of Symptoms. My favorite repair! “That will be $

John, that Bi-Hummer joke went right over your head 😂😂
#KeepinItLoose

My truck did the same thing on the hwy...after that I went AN fittings and hydraulic hose
Love when you and gabe work on cars, you guys are funny! #Keepinitloose 😂
😂👍🏼
Wazaaaaa Gabe happy to see you again.
👋🏽😃👍🏽
The outro you guys were having too much fun
Great to see Gabe back 🎉
Making things tight, while keepin himself loose..
JohnRoss for Congress.
Fleet farm has generic dexron fluid for super cheap. I used to get it there.
Either slogan, I'd vote for you
Now you have me wondering if one of, if not THE, main reasons so many otherwise nice H3s are showing up on third tier used car lots in our area are the same ones you ran into, but nobody wanted to spend the money and/or time to actually fix them.
🤙🤙 No such thing as a bad WatchJRGo video when Gabe's around! Glad you're finally wrapping this thing up so you can get it out of your garage.
🍺😁👍🏽
Wow, a lot of work.! Great job!!!
GAAAAABE what up brah. Good to see you!
👋🏽😁👍🏽
drove by a H3 the other day. Could hear the fans running as I drove by
Clearly a “Keepin’ it Loose” t-shirt is on the way.
JR, have you turned over a new leaf? Using a funnel AND running a vehicle in the garage with the garage door open?
I'm sure you checked this but first thing that comes to mind is the fluid level in the transfer case. Wonder if it's low on fluid?
Wow. I got a soft stage 1 and high stall torque converter for about 1600$ sounds a bit high. Either way great job doing it right
Great job GABE
🍺😉👍🏼
Hey JR, on the off chance you read this and happy to answer… Any news on new premises or is that not part the plan now?
Thumbs up for the Super Troopers reference.
🍺😉👍🏽
I sense a new tee shirt logo for Watch JR Go.
Every time you get a fresh haircut, all I can think of is Kevin Bacon aka Chip Diller from Animal House “thank you Sir, may I have another”.
Thanks for the video as always JR..I can’t help but wonder since the tranny shop said nothing was wrong if it was something simple. The fluid on this was coming out of the inspection hole, I did feel around the side 🍻
America needs a Hummer.
Been watching forever, excellent video as always.
The last time I had to replace a transmission was in the 90s , and it cost me 400 $ to to trade the broken one for a rebuilt one .
Really surprised how much I like the H3. Great video!
They brought the Hummer to Australia, for government evaluation..
For high power-line inspection vehicles in the outback..
They Fell apart, just like the Jeep..
We stayed with 70 series land Cruiser..
Hummer like Jeep.. is Pretend 4x4 Junk..
Having rode in one, there is zero leg room for anyone over 5'6". It was a miserable two day trip.
I had encoder errors on my H2 and there was a TSB that said to cycle the unit several times to clear the fault. Apparently there are contacts that get dirty and don't indicate position. If it's not a wire, that might help.
The Chevy dealer I worked at would just charge people $900 for a new encoder motor. People were pissed. Most were contractors.
CTIS is the #1 reason for flat tires.
Gabe had you blushing pretty good even had you turning red ☺☺☺☺
The sunshells sheer off on those.
JR, when is the NEW SHOP COMING???
Love watching your videos man. Keeping it loose 🤘🤘🤘
Stabili trak module on the steering column under the dash always the issue.
Well done
I think we need a John Ross Keeping it loose shirt
Jhon Ross...... keeping it loose 😂
I’m surprised you haven’t bought a new shop yet.
Can you show fixing the 4wd actuator. I have a suburban that says service 4wd I can hear it turning but it doesn't shift
There’s a Stretch H3 limo that’s PINK in Tulsa
Imagine buying a starter for 2 or 3 times the price at O'Reillys when he had time to order from rockauto
But he’s sponsored by Orielly’s so why would he ever go against one of his best sponsors?
Hey at least it worked out of the box, a rarity for O'Reilly's
I stopped using rockauto because the last two times I ordered, the shipping was just as much as the parts themselves. And shipping is paid on every part, not on entire order. Much cheaper just running to local parts store.
I Amazon the parts lol
@Theodore yep I have noticed this too. Shipping has gone up significantly on rock auto to the point is almost not worth it on a lot of things
If I could help Watch JR Goes put the transmission back in the Hummer H3 I would drink the shots of whiskey and cold Bartle Skeets with him, and pack up the Hash Pipe with Rocky and get all schmoked up with him
Keepin’ it loose.
Bob you're a legend 😂!
John Ross, talkin' to you next time. Keepin' it loose! LMAO!!
Any shop updates? I miss the big shop.
Ugh so sorry to see Gabe break another bone in this video 😔
🤣😂👍🏼
didnt get a notification on this one john ross
How about "John Ross! Not hot enough to transition yet."
I kidd! I kidd!
Keepin it loose 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
Was your Torque converter drain back valve. Likely leaked through dip stick seal
Awesome...
Now on to the engine swap in the Escalade...
Do do do do do do CHARGE... 😂
It’s next-ish on the list! 🍻
4L60E doesn't have a TCM, it's in the PCM. I see you've figured that out.
Some Humvee models had CTIS.
Forget to charge your bluetooth funnel?
i miss the morning vid daily from the old shop. The current format is nice, but not the quality of the former vids. How its goin with the search for the new house/garage?
I feel like keeping it loose
I doubt this is slower than the electric geo. ;)
