    Piękne! U mnie na półce czeka około 15 strugów do renowacji. W tym bardzo ciekawe kątniki, spajacze, itp. A nawet narzynka i gwintownik do gwintów trapezowych w drewnie.

    Cool idea. I’m working on a turned one but it will have a knurled knob to lock it and a drilled out cork in it for some resistance to make fine adjustments easy. The plan is to saw off the end and head of a lag screw and thread on an antler or Horn knob with a blind hole in it.

    What a cool marking gauge! Would be super pleased to have something you made. I'm a huge fan and have passed your channel onto others. I actually collect marking tools going back to the very first one given to me by my Grandfather. It has been in our family since 1660!! I have many of my Grandfathers handtools that some are part of the collection given to me by my Grandfather. In every project I make I use at least one of those tools. I would love to add yours to my collection. As mentioned by other subs, this is a very nice design and would get used daily in my shop.

    Very nicely made. Two questions, why you plane a portion of the thread flat?since the blade had more length it's not for surface reference, right?
    Also where can we find all these tool steel that you have? You have inspired many to make some minor tools but I don't seem to find a place to buy a good blade for less than 35euros.

    • @StavrosGakos
      @StavrosGakos  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! That flat side of the thread helps keep the blade on the same angle - every time, on booth sides. The steel i have was bought on occasion. You just have to search on internet auctions :)

    I like and watch all your videos. Happy birthday.
    But, in my experience, I have done nearly the exact same thing in the past, it's not a good idea to make a marking gauge with threads and two bolts. the mechanism to tightening needs to stabilize the end bolt and squeeze the back. However both bolts move to each other every time you squeeze them and since that kind of a tool needs precision it doesn't work as expected. Saying this, it's a nice piece of wood, tool and will be a perfect gift.
