I matriculated through dental school in Illinois and my total debt was only $183,000 and I worked at a health center 4 years and did loan forgiveness to get that down to $83,000 in just 4 years. I have worked at a hospital now for the last 9 years and make enough money to easily make the payments. Don't let the debt overwhelm you; think strategically hiw to get rid of it.
Did you get any scholarships to bring it down? Because I too live in Illinois and I'm looking to go to UIC for dental school and I believe for all 4 years it's around $250,000. And the loan forgiveness. Was it after 10 years? And what kind? I could really use you help before I go. Thank you so much in advance!!!!
whitesox2624 hopefully you found your answer, how was pre dentistry? Currently in high school and thinking about doing going to a community college for 2 years first then switching to a 4 year university for the last 2 years to cut the cost a bit. Would really want to know if dentistry is the right path for me since I wasn’t the best student the first 2 years of High school.
hugo chen up to you man. I wasn’t a good student in high school. I smoked weed and did many stupid activities. I somehow ended up working in a dental office as an assistant which led me to pursue dentistry. I went to community college for 2 years and 2 years to Uni. I paid nothing for college except living expenses. Dental school is expensive but it’s worth it. I would recommend shadowing dental offices and seeing if you like the career
Ann Lowry I’m a assistant and I could not agree more with what your saying, the amount of care and love the assistants put in to their work to then be put down by the dentists it’s actually the worst.
From a dentist 4 years already in profession: You will change your mind about which profession is easier when you have to work 6 hours for a patients with large tongue and preppearing an upper left second molar through a tiny dental mirror, while your friend/brother the doctor is setting behind a disk referring patients and writing prescriptions
wow, all the dentists, oral surgeons etc. I know, work far less hours than I do. This all depends on if you own your own practice. I have over 20 years of practice in internal medicine and hospice medicine. I do home visits, nursing homes etc. Although I am only working 60 to 70 hours a week now, when I first started I would routinely work over 100 hours weekly.
not to sound disrespectful or anything, but do you exercise/go to the gym regularly. i understand that the spine is arched at a very dangerous angle most of the time, but its never to late for this "natural cure".
Then why did you choose to become a Dentist? You do want to help people achieve optimal oral health, right? You must get some satisfaction in helping people. i aspire to be a Paediatric Dentist. i think that i would enjoy it. No back breaking of you sit with the proper posture in the proper work chair an go for regular massage. Just saying. Maybe you are depressed and need therapy.
I took both the MCAT and the DAT and the MCAT was purely a reading comprehension test. You need the science knowledge but you have to read long passages and decipher what info needs to be taken out and be applied to the questions. If you are a slow reader (like I am) you can know all the info but still do poorly. The DAT is more direct. For example, it will ask you questions like, "If you mix chemical A with chemical B, what happens?" You need to know the same info for both exams but the DAT is just more straight forward in testing your knowledge of that info. The DAT does have the perceptual ability section which I feel is very important for a dentist. I was always good at that stuff so I thought it was a fun section but many people have trouble with 3 dimensional thinking and find it difficult. As far as being On Call, dentists are technically ALWAYS on call. However I very rarely ever need to go in to the office. Most of the time you can call in a script or see them the next day. One thing that wasn't touched on in the video is the education you receive in med school vs dental school. The two are almost identical the first two years with the exception of dental specific classes. The third and fourth year you branch off into the med/dental practical training. Great video keep up the good work.
Guys just go outside the US. I’m studying dentistry this year I’m 17 . I went straight from secondary school to university based on the points of my final exam. I live in Ireland( republic) and I’m eligible for grants so my tuition is around 3-5k for international student it’s definitely no more that 10k soo compared to insane American prices it’s pretty great look to other countries like the Uk and if you know a language Spain or France
So let’s be clear. Everything in this video is NOT fact. The comments, for the most part, seem more accurate tbh. As a soon to be doctor (counting the days til 2020!), I find it really interesting that a DDS (current or future idk) would make a video titled “dentists vs. doctors.” Are you not a doctor? Are you not going to be a doctor? We-physicians, pharmacists, dentists alike- are a team, working together to provide the best healthcare possible to the public. Such verbage and some of the inaccurate comments made in the video, instigate a certain hierarchy amongst our fields that should not exist. We are all doctors, we all worked very hard to get to where we got, and we ALL want to help people. That’s it. But don’t get me wrong...some people need help in determining their career path and use such videos to help make that decision. I get it. The truth of the matter is dental school is not a cake walk. You are learning everything about the human body, drugs etc. on top of all this lab work and surgical procedures. That being said pharmacy and medicine is no cake walk either. Salary wise...pharmacists generally make less than a physician/dentist. However, a dentist can make more than a physician and vice versa. There’s a lil bit more autonomy in the field of dentistry but it all depends. There I got it out lol. Hope this helps! Good luck to everyone in all your endeavors!!
I see what you’re saying. It’s unfortunate that arrogance has to come with certain degrees. But screw that and all the lobbying bs. The truth is, in order to do our job effectively, we have to diagnose medically before we can do anything dentally. And that is a fact
Rich 91 why are you so insecured trying to discredit dentists as doctors? They can prescribe medication, administer injections and can perform oral surgeries.
My first thought on the first sixty seconds of this video: You are not NOT too old for cardio. You just bit off more than you can handle. If you have been doing nothing but sitting and studying for more than a year, you have to ease back into exercising. Try something small like walking for fifteen or twenty minutes at any speed you wish at first. Then try walking fast for twenty minutes as your next goal.
So glad I found this channel! I'm a fourth year dental student from South Africa. In comparison to US dental schools, there are also soo many differences..
I’m working my way into dentistry, currently I’m enrolled into a Dental therapy course in the UK, I have to get 80% in my exams to fast tract onto the dentistry saving myself a year in density. I didn’t have the grades for dentistry due to me being more of a computer science type of guy. I’m very smart and I live in the UK
Bottom line is- do what you love and can see yourself doing 10 years from now. You can watch as many salary/ hours videos as you want, but you need to see these professions in person. If you choose a career based on salary/ hours, you are in for a nice treat. Perhaps the treat of pure hell. My advice to anyone that is watching this video, go and shadow as many doctors and dentists as you can and ask about their day to day job. Remember, a job is at least 1/3 of your life. Yeah, maybe a psychiatrist or family doc works a bit more than a dentist, but it’s all about what motivates you to wake up in the morning.
I'm hoping to get into dental school one day. I thought about medical school but after researching it and seeing the average work weeks of 60+ hours for doctors I was just "nope, fuck that." I will gladly take more free time as dentist to actually enjoy my money than spend my whole life working. I'm not trying to insult doctors at all, got nothing but respect for them, but honestly sounds more like a lifestyle choice than a career and I don't think many people, myself included, couldn't do it.
Hi Trevor-- Perhaps you should consider using the title "physician" to refer to those earning MDs. This titling will continue to de-merit dentists as doctors in our culture. Thanks, and keep up the awesome job with your vlogging!
Hey Trevor awesome video keep up the good work! I am a recent high school graduate going pre med and I found your description for the MCAT requirements hilarious 😂. You do have a sense of humor 👏🏾. But keep the videos coming you do a great job!
Great video idea and thank you for pointing out that much of what can be found online is not necessarily ironclad information! As student debt is always a factor for students exploring dentistry, I might suggest a future video where you delve into which schools allow students to change states of residency after a year of schooling, such that loans can be minimized as much as possible. Just a thought!
That's a great idea. I am going through that process right now. Only a few schools in the US actually allow you to do that though so it should be a big factor when deciding which program to attend!
I think that one of the reasons that dentists don't get as much respect and admiration is that dentists work on a small area of the body. Some people may have the idea that dentists have it easy because everything they study happens above the shoulder bones [ clavicales ]. However doctors have to study everything from eyebrows to ankles.
I feel like being a dentist might be safer than a doctor (medical) in a way because doesn’t a Dentist get to practice right after graduating dental school? And if I’m not mistaken a medical student has to secure a residency before practicing as a doctor..
Nice video! But remember the week hours when comparing salaries. Physicians (I prefer that term) work, on average, almost 2 times more than dentists (in hours), as you stated. However, they don't make two times more money. There's something important to consider. Congrats!
Not only that remember this. Say you're a general dentist who never opens his own practice just for arguments sake and say your max career salary is around 200-250k which is reasonable for someone working for a healthcare company for multiple years as a dentist, physicians that make around that range still need to spend 3-4 years in residency to make that kind of money. So you're 3-4 years ahead salary wise. If you open your own practice and hit it big and you're making serious money 400-600k, the physicians that have to comparable salaries were in residency for 5-7 years and 2-3 years of fellowship
Ray Pittman most general dentists definitely aren't earning 200-250k on average. Certainly some do but that's not the average. 400-600k is just fantasy land and very few come even close to that.
Excellent job of comparison. There is one big difference. A solo dental practitioner is alone with his staff and doesn’t have many opportunities to mingle with peers. The MD on the other hand, gets to go to the hospital to see patients and has more peer contact. There are exceptions. The hours of time spent working is arranged for greatest production. Dentists rarely have a minute in between patients and it is very physically demanding because of prolonged posture and close eye focus. PS - I am a retired dentist.
I am in the same boat. I am 33 years old and this's 3rd year in college. I really like dentistry. I don't if it is too late now:( am I too old to become a dentist? please give me some advices? thanks in advence.
I just started my 2nd year! So I'm not even halfway 😧😂. I am really interested in going there for residency actually. It's one of the best programs in the country
Trevor West DDS That’s still awesome though you finished your 1st year! Good luck 🍀 on your second year! But wow that’s great, I’ve heard really good things about Case and I’m sure you’ll get In! Do you know what residency you want to go into?
Physicians make x1.6 that, on average. Average salary for all physicians who shared their salaries is $313k in 2019 and $299k in 2018. Your numbers were off, check via MedScape for the raw and more reliable data.
Well in India the State runs most of dental and medical schools.. so it just costs around 5 Lakh rupees which is around just 9000 USD for the complete course! Amazing isn't it..but the acceptance rate is just 9 percent. some med schools don't even charge.. such as AIIMS,AFMC...which are the Best med school in india and but its acceptance rate is 2 percent!!!
What you do is amazing, your a true hero! I do however understand being self confident about your teeth due to a drug in the chemo family my teeth are destroyed! As a mom of 4 I just can’t afford to get my teeth fixed and even if I could afford a partial denture which I can’t the thought of having a denture at 32 years old is depressing! It’s made me incredibly depressed I’m missing out on precious time with my children because I’m just to embarrassed and ashamed to leave my house and when I do leave my house I’m sick for hours before hand panicking it controls my life! I don’t sleep much because I lay awake thinking about all the fun things I wish I could do with my kids, others may laugh at me but you just can’t possibly understand unless you’ve experienced something similar! If you have healthy teeth and a smile your proud of be thankful! Not all of us are so lucky and many of us can’t afford dental care! I wish I could afford implants I have tried getting financed with no luck! I’ve wrote to dozens on dentists in Michigan with no luck I had luck with several dentists out of state but couldn’t afford to travel!
It was stated the doctor once in practice would spend a certain amount of time on call. In my area of the country (FL, AL, GA) very few doctors are on call as once termed. Most if not all the hospital in my area hire hospitalist freeing the doctor in private practice from being on call.
Love your videos, bro. I’ve planned to go to Louisville School of Dentistry ever since the 6th grade. You answer the majority of my questions, too. You’ll be famous one day, lol.
Hey there, Trevor. I'm in dental school too. I'm almost done and all that you've said is hands-down facts. I'm a new subscriber by the way. Hi :) I love your top.
rsp 123 what's most difficult about doing my internship? Basically having to juggle my schedule between all the departments so that i get my requirements done ASAP. Bear in mind that patients tend to cancel on us. When this happens we have to contact our other patients at the last minute to check if they can com otherwise time is misspent. It's all about utilising time properly and efficiently. Cos where I am, you officially become a doctor once you have checked off all your requirements. I'm not sure how it works in The States or elsewhere. So, the sooner you finish your requirements, the sooner you graduate. The sooner you graduate the sooner you can pay off your student loans and start building your life :)
you should only become a dentist if you want to be a dentist. same if you want to be an an MD. Nobody should be applying to both and have DDS as the back up plan. Become man-i can tell people-. being a dentist you have to be a robot all day- calm, steady and work in a tight environment-non stop. Even as a general dentist- can only compare this to a physician who has to be calm and steady all day-ie. some form of medical surgeon. . I have been a dentist for 17 yrs. and have owned multiple offices. What you do after you graduate makes the difference- you can be an entrepreneur being an MD or DDS. You can be rich or poor or half ass dentist or MD. Degree does not mean anything in terms of wealth. The richest dentists I know- have owned and operated big offices having associates for the most part. school and what you do after are way different. Dentistry is a very physically and mentally challenging profession. Being a specialist in either fields-does not necessarily mean more money. It may be more money as you the DR doing all the work as as one man show-often leads to burn out. . Good video. I just don't see a point of someone comparing the 2 professions-do one or the other. what if you hate working with your hands, did not get into MD and then go into DDS. Happened to one of my friends- and after 3rd year- he dropped out of DDS by choice. He entered DDS to please his parents-and of course his parents-who were not either DDS or MDs- wanted him to be one or the other. My advice I will be giving to my kids- only become a dentist if you really want to be one
Hey Trevor, so I ended up writing both the MCAT and DAT... I found actually the MCAT was a lot easier (except the cars section)... The reason for this was because it was a lot more broader and a lot of the answers could be found in the passage... Whereas the DAT you needed to know very very very specific details... Also i'm comparing the science sections here... But this is my opinion considering I wrote the Canadian DAT and I have no clue about the american... And I do agree with you on the PAT section, it was a lot of fun, and since I wrote the Canadian DAT the soap carving section was very fun too... I can't say anything about the QR section, but RC section was pretty straight forward whereas on the MCAT the CARS section was unbelievable hard... RC in DAT I scored a 22, where as CARS I scored 123, so its a huge difference.... But this my opinion and just wanted share it with you!
Really? That is awesome you've taken both. Thanks for sharing Salim. I guess that is true that the questions would be more broad! So did you end up in dental school or med school?
I decided I didn't want to do med at the end of my fourth year of undergrad... I got waitlisted at University of Toronto, so hoping the waitlist moves and I'll be in the DDS program in September!!!
The current health care crisis, and the politicization of such, makes medicine a nightmare profession. I;m SO glad I chose dentistry. It;s been a great life
After spending years of undergrad slaving myself and preparing for a life of hell I decided Dental was right for me when you combine salary, lifestyle, and overall happiness. I shadowed/worked/volunteered for 5 physicians in different specialties and they all hate their careers and they're all working 60-70hr weeks in their 50s while the average dentist I shadowed works 30-50hr weeks making around the same or even more. Dent is the path for me.
They say it's so hard like you should study 10hrs a day to make it...is it right?cause I wanted to start studying dentistry buy when I heard these kind of stuff I freaked out
Great video. If asked on interview why you chose dentistry over medicine do you think it's a good answer to say because it's a less stressful life or will they look at that as you being a cop-out?
You can say that you wanted to give your whole focus on a very specific area from the beginning till the end to be an expert on it, rather than having relatively less broad knowledge on everything in the body and then into specialty to focus on a specific area.
Don’t know where those acceptance figures came from. When I got into The University of Oklahoma COD in 1989, there were 750 applications for 50 chairs. This past year was 830 applications for 52 chairs, six percent. Maybe OU is an outlier? Was quite the honor to be trained there.
Wilson Mar Puerto Rico is not another country, it is a territory of the U.S.. They have the same standards as US. I believe you are mistaking Puerto Rico with the other Caribbean schools which are not territories or part of the US.
I strongly believe that you must be a dentist and a medical doctor to compare and contrast. What you are primarily talking about is getting into med school vs dental school, not the fields themselves. Live both lives before sharing info that is misleading, or at least interview some more people. You forget to mention malpractice insurance, insurance billing, and the amount of stress both have, among many many more things.
You sure are lucky and because the acceptance rate in pakistaan india is less than 10% and other asian countries as well have a tight and low acceptance rate . be cool ull make it!!!!
So you're saying that after you graduate medical school you work 30 hours per day but after you graduate from dental school you work 36 hours per week 🤔
In my personal opinion, the biggest question you should ask yourself is whether you are interested in being a business owner. The medical route will more than likely lead you to work as a hospital employee. That takes away the stress of being a boss and everything that comes with it. On the other hand, the dental route is unique in that you have the opportunity to be an entrepreneur and build your practice. There are pros and cons to both and it ultimately depends on what you want from life
I hate how these so called developed countries like UK never used to confer the title of Dr for dentists but they are now slowly catching with the rest of the world which means dentists there can use the title '' Dr''
Hi ...I m doing dental graduation from India ...I want to ask that in India we say it BDS but in America u say it DDS so what is the difference between both of these ??
So accurate! I'm in my 3yr BDs from India and I want to do a specialisation course outside India. But this DDS thing keeps on popping. Can you make a video elaborating how can a foreign student can do a specialisation course in US/UK? Thank you!:)
Bilkiss Khan I'm not studying in Australia. I'm doing my bds from India as I'm from India. I'm trying to apply for Australia/US/UK for specialisation course. 😅 Which is still 2-3 yrs away.
bloom Agrawal to practice in the US, international dentists have to apply to an advanced placement program where you take a bench test and boards to get accepted. The advances standing mean you take the last 2 years of American dental school along with some additional classes. Some states then require a General Practice Residency after graduation. If you don’t qualify then you have to do the normal 4 years of dental school.
Thank you Trever, this was a very informative and great video, good luck with second year. P.s. did I hear you say your too old.....😏 Your not old ,your are so very young. its just the lack of excersis and good eating habits that's making us old. But your definitely not alone.
Sir trevor, I'm a sophomore from India and I want to pursue higher degrees in dental sugry and I was hoping maybe you could help me and more people like me with some tips
Anshul Mahajan Anshul Mahajan if he is only BDS also he is a doctor bcz bds means bachelor of dental surgery. thats nt an easy job. If some ass ass holes think that its nt so imp. tell them to give an infilteration so easily.. or atleast restore a tooth and show....

Argonaut Thanks, yea currently trying to change my bad habits hopefully I will get through it like you😀.
Be nice to your future assistants. Don’t be mean! Most dentists are super mean to us (assistants).
Ann Lowry I’m a assistant and I could not agree more with what your saying, the amount of care and love the assistants put in to their work to then be put down by the dentists it’s actually the worst.
Ann Lowry just go and be a dentist
Balla Jallow that’s super inconsiderate to say and very ignorant. Assistants are needed just as much and that’s no excuse to treat someone awful
I don’t think this is true at all also kind of bad attitude to have if this is your career.☹️
Ann Lowry justlike nurse aids are treated poorly by nurses and doctors.

Leave alone trying to kill a nerve inside a tiny tooth with a small mirror , which might takes FOREVER.... absolutely nightmare :/
Very interesting video Trevor! PS. I got accepted in dental school ! I start in August!!
Ayy congrats Alex. Enjoy your summer before the grind starts
Alex I start on the 1st of August. Dental school rocks💪

In the uk the cost of University is much cheaper but the medical practitioners get paid far far less so it works out about the same really
I was thinking of transferring after getting my major to dental school in Europe because i hear it's cheaper but i'm not sure I
Its 40k+ for foreigners

No., Dentist is what you call a professional who earned a degree as a Doctor of Dental Medicine. That's why it is called DMD/DDS

Thanks, and keep up the awesome job with your vlogging!
Just B what ever the community thinks about us dentist it's not going to impact us.
@Rich 91 again Richard. Doctor is a degree PhD, lawyers , dentist, physicians, some nurse practitioner. They are all doctors
Great video! I’m a med student and have dental student friends but we don’t talk about our differences much.
I know some dental schools have classes with the med students, but I would say you guys go way more in depth for each body system
Trevor West DDS Interesting. That makes sense.
Here in Croatia we school 6 years for dentistry, as a part of med school... Ridiculous, now going for 6th year..
David Anzulović Do you go straight out of high/secondary school?
Adnan A we enroll after high school... 8 years prim + 4 years high + 6 years university + specialization depending on what you are going for..
Instantly Subbed. Great content man. Keep it up.
At least use the right title !!
It should be Physician vs Dentist
Oral surgeon are both a dentist and a medical doctor because you need a dental license and a medical license
4:30 is the most accurate thing ever!
Jessica J hahaha...
Great vids Trevor! Hope to get into Dental school soon!
As a med student, I always feel better about my finances after hearing what the average debt is.
Only a few schools in the US actually allow you to do that though so it should be a big factor when deciding which program to attend!
im in korea dental school now, its interesting to watch USA videos about dental school and i hope that you'll be a great dentist
I think that one of the reasons that dentists don't get as much respect and admiration is that dentists work on a small area of the body. Some people may have the idea that dentists have it easy because everything they study happens above the shoulder bones [ clavicales ]. However doctors have to study everything from eyebrows to ankles.
A dentist is just a doctor specialized in the mouth....
I feel like being a dentist might be safer than a doctor (medical) in a way because doesn’t a Dentist get to practice right after graduating dental school? And if I’m not mistaken a medical student has to secure a residency before practicing as a doctor..
What aspect of dentistry did you go into? i.e. private practive, corporate, military,
Yes. Suppose dentists choose to work same hours
@@pimpnamedslickback7780 it’s more like $170K max for general dentists, while primary care can reach $250K.
Buddy it shud be dentist vs physician... Both are doctors dude
I can't figure why most of them choose wrong title!
Would working in an office vs a hospital be different? I have read some reports that different specialties have different levels of stress.
You are just awesome man!
That’s mad there are 2 separate tests for medicine and dentistry in the UK they both take the same one
I am in the same boat. I am 33 years old and this's 3rd year in college. I really like dentistry. I don't if it is too late now:( am I too old to become a dentist? please give me some advices? thanks in advence.
Go for you’ll be 37, but be in a lot of debt
LMAO I died at 4:36. And I'm so glad you made this video :)
Very informative! What year are you?! My boyfriend is going to Case Western reserve this Fall he’s super excited!!
How many years of schooling? In total from after graduating high school
Edel Garcia 8 total. Four undergrad and four in dental school
@@Rachel-ul8et what’s undergrad? Do you need it even in Europe?
Karthik valliappan damn that’s really a low acceptance rate
Karthik valliappan in the Netherlands 50 out of 900 people are accepted 😭😭😭 it’s the best paid job here though
Dentist VS Physicians both are doctors
1, 500, 000 this is the number of students applying for medicine in india per year
Totally different from the system in India
Asian system is different compared to the western system. I do know a fact that in India it is a 6 year programme with the final year being residency.
How is it different? Please share
Trevor could you recommend me some Dentistry Books so I can learn more about this Science
What about the number of years till you practice ?
Love your videos, bro. I’ve planned to go to Louisville School of Dentistry ever since the 6th grade. You answer the majority of my questions, too. You’ll be famous one day, lol.
Thanks brother! I'll keep the info comin
Brandon Turner do you go to U of L?
Rachel Haslem No... not yet! I’m in undergrad preparing for dental school! 😊
Brandon Turner where do you go?
Rachel Haslem University of Southern Indiana. Indiana School of Dentistry could also be an option for me!
Like the information ....but **dentist** are also doctors ,
Thank you for the info(:
Is 300 k take home easy to make for Dentists?
Thanks for the information
Great comparison, keep the videos coming!
thanks ari
Hey there, Trevor. I'm in dental school too. I'm almost done and all that you've said is hands-down facts. I'm a new subscriber by the way. Hi :) I love your top.
Jasmine Cheema do you find it hard?
Playboi Kadin It isn't difficult. But yes, very very stressful especially during your internship.
Jasmine Cheema . What's the most stressful thing about it ?
rsp 123 what's most difficult about doing my internship? Basically having to juggle my schedule between all the departments so that i get my requirements done ASAP. Bear in mind that patients tend to cancel on us. When this happens we have to contact our other patients at the last minute to check if they can com otherwise time is misspent. It's all about utilising time properly and efficiently. Cos where I am, you officially become a doctor once you have checked off all your requirements. I'm not sure how it works in The States or elsewhere. So, the sooner you finish your requirements, the sooner you graduate. The sooner you graduate the sooner you can pay off your student loans and start building your life :)
@@JasmineCheema92 Are you in Canada?
Just excellent! Congrats for the channel!
This was super informative and interesting!
Very helpful!! Thank you so much 😊
you should only become a dentist if you want to be a dentist. same if you want to be an an MD.
Did he just say spatula awareness? Goodness.
I got waitlisted at University of Toronto, so hoping the waitlist moves and I'll be in the DDS program in September!!!
salim wasay good luck
Dentists are doctors.
I have a video you might wish to see based on what you will expect in the D3 year and ADEX prep exam..
They say it's so hard like you should study 10hrs a day to make it...is it right?cause I wanted to start studying dentistry buy when I heard these kind of stuff I freaked out
Thank you🤗🤗🤗🤗
I am a dental student in Turkey :))) but I found it so hard but as time goes on I get used to this situation
title should be Physician Vs Dentist
OMG i love your T-shirt! and the teeth on your board! ahahha :D Btw Hola from Taipei!
Both are doctors... You have dentists and physicians.
is a pharmacist a doctor then?
@@aahsimovieprojects If they have a doctorate degree in pharmacology.
Andrew yep they’re doctor of pharmacy/ PharmD
What is the best way to study for the DAT?
mang boih check out DAT Bootcamp!♥️
DAT destroyer and DAT bootcamp
Loved this video!!!
Don’t know where those acceptance figures came from. When I got into The University of Oklahoma COD in 1989, there were 750 applications for 50 chairs. This past year was 830 applications for 52 chairs, six percent. Maybe OU is an outlier? Was quite the honor to be trained there.
Informative video !!
Thank you!
Go to another country for medical school like Puerto Rico than come to the United States to become Physician
Wilson Mar Puerto Rico is not another country, it is a territory of the U.S.. They have the same standards as US. I believe you are mistaking Puerto Rico with the other Caribbean schools which are not territories or part of the US.
Great video
I was in a plane and someone asked for doctor. So the doctor asked the dentist to hold the man's dentures while the doctor performs CPR.
So sad 😟
☹
I strongly believe that you must be a dentist and a medical doctor to compare and contrast. What you are primarily talking about is getting into med school vs dental school, not the fields themselves.
Live both lives before sharing info that is misleading, or at least interview some more people. You forget to mention malpractice insurance, insurance billing, and the amount of stress both have, among many many more things.
I've seen Trevor save 5 dogs by wrestling 2 boa constrictors with his biceps. Knocked the snakes out cold can set them free in the wild.
I've wanted to be a medical Dr for a long time but the fact that only 40% actually get into med school terrifies me.
You sure are lucky and because the acceptance rate in pakistaan india is less than 10% and other asian countries as well have a tight and low acceptance rate . be cool ull make it!!!!
In Turkey you should be at least in %0,8 for med school and %1,2 for dental school
Having taken both the DAT and MCAT. The DAT is a joke compared to the MCAT
So you're saying that after you graduate medical school you work 30 hours per day
but after you graduate from dental school you work 36 hours per week 🤔
I’m so confused, I just want someone to tell me either become a dentist or a doctor ! I care about money though , so what should I be ?
In my personal opinion, the biggest question you should ask yourself is whether you are interested in being a business owner. The medical route will more than likely lead you to work as a hospital employee. That takes away the stress of being a boss and everything that comes with it. On the other hand, the dental route is unique in that you have the opportunity to be an entrepreneur and build your practice. There are pros and cons to both and it ultimately depends on what you want from life
Thanks for replaying! . I chose dentistry 😊
Why is tuition so much is America jeez people have more debt after university in America then people in the uk get in their entire lives
You are funny and nice video 👍
Hey can you make a video for foreign dentists who want to work as a dentist in USA?
Amr Atef yeaaaah! Plz
Nice video :)
M in my second year of BDS in india. What is the procedure for pursuing masters (MDS) from Canada or US ?
I hate how these so called developed countries like UK never used to confer the title of Dr for dentists but they are now slowly catching with the rest of the world which means dentists there can use the title '' Dr''
Dentists in my country can get the title of doctor if they specialize.
Hi ...I m doing dental graduation from India ...I want to ask that in India we say it BDS but in America u say it DDS so what is the difference between both of these ??
@Gapasinao Michael racist
So accurate! I'm in my 3yr BDs from India and I want to do a specialisation course outside India. But this DDS thing keeps on popping. Can you make a video elaborating how can a foreign student can do a specialisation course in US/UK?
Thank you!:)
bloom Agrawal can i ask u something ?
How much did it cost to u studying in australia? And how is it there? Im trying to apply for the same but i m having real difficulties
P.s. did I hear you say your too old.....😏
Your not old ,your are so very young. its just the lack of excersis and good eating habits that's making us old. But your definitely not alone.
Haha thanks! I knowww I just need to crack down and do it not often :)
Trevor West DDS 👍👍👍👍👍👍

So dentist complete schooling in 4 years. I heard it was 8 years? Is that so?
It is at most 4 years and in most commonwealth countries it is a 5 year course. Masters or specialisation, though can take up another 3-5 years.
5 years in my country^^
