      I think SmallCase has made Mr. @warikoo it's Brand Ambassador 😒. Just Promoting their product and losing the motto of the YT channel.
      Edit: Sir Please teach about resume building, video for freshers, how to crack interviews, Startup Ideas as Small case isn't worthy enough because we can directly buy stocks from Brokerage firm like zerodha, upstox then why to redirect though small case. And I think believe a tip based investing is worst better to understand or read about company in detail and then invest
      (considering stock purchased as per given on small case, percentage of units/stocks is not a matter of debate)
      @warikoo And also rebalancing portfolio according to small case (considering quarterly rebalancing) will attract Tax and breaks compounding effect. so better to read about company first and then invest precious money instead taking some companies tip stock

    As an lnvesting enthusiast, I often wonder how top level investors are able to become millionaires off investing. . I’ve been sitting on over $545K equity from a home sale and I’m not sure where to go from here, is it a good time to buy into stocks or do I wait for another opportunity?

      I think the safest strategy is to diversify investments. Like spreading investments across different asset classes, like bonds, real estate, and international stocks, they can reduce the impact of a market meltdown

    Hi Ankur,
    great video, absolutely loved it!
    I beg to differ with your point around smallcase being a great instrument for a new investor. Being an experienced investor and having done sufficient research on this, I urge you to address the following points so that your followers have more visibility -
    1. Taxation in smallcase - Taxation is different in equity, debt, gold, ETFs, etc. If not understood earlier, it can create problems at a later stage
    2. Brokerage and Other charges in smallcase - Brokers charge their fee in addition to the smallcase fee. Since many smallcases contain 1 or 2 stocks (maybe more), separate charges on each are applicable.
    I personally believe smallcases are simple on the outside but complicated (maybe expensive too) on the inside, esp. if you take the above into account.
    Cheers!

    • @swatijain_nov
      @swatijain_nov 3 ปีที่แล้ว +34

      This is exactly what I was hoping to find in the video but didn't.
      Zerodha is charging Rs100/transaction in smallcase, and I have no clue what that means. Does it mean if I go for an SIP in let's say Equity and Gold, will I be charged Rs. 100 every month? Or only the first time when I place it. Similarly no clue about taxes etc.

    A great video. Just to add.
    Smallcase is good and probably better than most mutual funds.
    But it does have some disadvantages.
    1. You have to pay Short Term Capital Gain whenever you rebalance.
    2. For Value & Momentum, they rebalance it once every 3 months. I'm not sure if most stocks will have positive momentum for 3 months.
    3. Some of the Smallcases which I invested in (which were popular at that time) are not that popular now because of low CAGR. As I realized now it's not that easy to beat an index in the long term.
    4. A lot of Smallcases are becoming paid where you have to pay a subscription fee per month to access it. It became similar to a mutual fund.

    1. Fees incurred during the purchase of smallcases which is Rs 100
    2. Rebalancing portfolios everytime (which is nothing apart from selling and buying stocks) attracts capital gains
    Also the other charges are still involved like STT, etc along with fixed DP charges during sell.
    I would rather purchase those same stocks from Zerodha and control them.

    Hello Ankur,
    This will be my first comment on any youtube channel(maybe not first, but for me a meaningful one).
    I really like what you have done with your life and what you are currently doing with your life. The startups which you have created and the decisions which you have taken in as early in your 20's to come back to India, dropping your Ph.D. is something that makes me follow you more because of the decisions and the type of person you are. These videos which you create have really made an impact on me.
    I started following you a few months ago and the way you connect with people is amazing. I really wish to see your videos on a daily basis.
    Thank you for all your content and advice which you provide. :)
    At last I would like to ask that how is this comes to your mind, like how you choose a topic and then come up with this content?

    • @brownie315
      @brownie315 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      39% return in one year is no biggie. It's the CAGR that gets compounded over several years that creates massive wealth. So if your brother can get a 39% CAGR (which is more than Warren Buffett's CAGR of 19) over a period of say 25-30 years. Then he would inevitably be one of the best investors in the world.
