not true, refer to below amazon comment in quotes . "Regarding the main differences between the LX3 and LX7, there are a couple. First, the LX3 has 6 programs and the LX7 only has 3. Technically the manual and product description says 4, but the 4th program is strange in that it does nothing but apply heat. The little hand icon changes from a picture of a full hand on program 1, to just the fingers on program 2, to just the wrist on program 3, and then the full hand but it turns red on program 4. I let the timer run for 5 minutes just to see and there was no movement other than heat. Since you can decide to control heat anyway, I feel like the 4th program is a wasted opportunity and is somewhat false advertising. Of the 3 that work, I still feel like the programs are far superior on the LX3 and there are more variety and intensities. Speaking of…
There are 6 levels of intensity on both units, but these are not created equal! The LX3 is SIGNIFICANTLY more intense in its pressure! So much so, that intensity 6 on the LX7 is about equivalent to intensity 2 on the LX3. I can do 15 minutes on the LX7 at level 6 and I'll have very shallow indents in my hand, or I’ll do 5 minutes at level 3 on the LX3 and have MUCH more defined impressions and in places that didn't even appear on the LX7. Putting it simply, the LX7 is weak-sauce in comparison. I made sure both units were fully charged."

Appreciate that in depth review because I was leaning towards the older model but wasn’t sure if the newer model was better. The touch screen is nice but I’m much more concerned with the strength of the message over an aesthetic preference for how the machine is operated.
