-Until which age we can still do cranial ultrasound in neonates in general? -at which frequency should we repeat this us if we find problems like hemorhage infarct pvl ect.. ?
Depends on the closure of the fontanelles/sutures. Usually the lates is 2 years though on some patients you can only do it up to 8months but limited views and penetration
Hi,-what is therapeutic approach for these problems that we detect by cranial ultrasound? Is there any medication to be given when we detect problems like hemorrhage, infarct, pvl, encephalitis, inflammation of white or grey matter?what is the next step after detection and what should be said to parents to do?best, Family doctor- Sarkis
I scanned my first Neonate Brain today. I was wondering for the mastoid view, is the notch facing towards the baby face or away from the baby face? Any help is appreciated. Please. Thank you. 🤗
Sir is it necessary to shave full hair for brain USG of (9) nine months old baby ?? Actually some diagnostic centers are telling to do that but others not.. Please Reply .
Studies and clinical practice indicate that hair does not significantly impede the quality of the ultrasound images obtained through the fontanel. In fact, the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) and most pediatric radiology guidelines do not include shaving as a prerequisite for cranial ultrasounds. Use ultrasound gel generously to ensure good contact between the probe and the skin, which can help improve image quality. In cases where a child has a thick layer of hair (which is rare in very young infants with an open anterior fontanel), the ultrasound technician may occasionally trim or adjust the hair for optimal image acquisition, but shaving is not routine practice nor necessary.
Do you usually use the small linear probe to take more images after finishing with the regular micro convex one as part of your protocol? Or If needed? Or never? Excellent video, thank you for sharing 👍🏻
I will support your chanel in any ways I can ! You're really helping me throughout my journey.

So is the CSP within the lateral ventricle or its own structure? Thanks!

Hi , which probe do u use for neonatal brain ultrasound ?
We use either sector or microconvex array 4-10 mhz and the linear 9mhz for higher detail work
@@SonographicTendencies Thanks. can we only use linear probe for the entire exam? and what if we try adults convex probe?
this was awesome, thank you for the labelings so much better to understand!
