Hi sir the left ventricle 14 mm and the right one 11mm. The doctor said that he didn’t see the connexion during the ultrasound.. he said there’s a connexion on the brain that he didn’t see.. please sir explain to me what does it mean
Hello @DrSamsImagingLibrary We just got out from a privat booked ultrasound, because next ulrasound is after 4-5 weeks. The embryo is 15 weels and they said that they could not see a little box that connecting the left and right brain.( I think it's about CSP) So they send us urgently asap to the hospital to check better What does this mean? Is that little bridge box a big problem? 😢 The doctor didn't want to tell us more.
Hello. I'm sorry to hear about this. It can be a stressful time. The presence of the CSP is usually checked during the second-trimester anatomy scan, typically performed between 18 and 22 weeks of pregnancy. It’s part of the brain where the left and right hemispheres have a critical connection. The absence or abnormal development of the CSP can be associated with a range of outcomes, from benign to more significant neurodevelopmental disorders. However, it's important to understand that the absence of the CSP alone does not necessarily indicate a problem. It can sometimes be associated with other brain anomalies, which is why detailed follow-up examinations are crucial.
Hello Dr. Sam ! Went for a 32 week scan and the radiologist has written in his report that the Calcarine sulcus is visualised partially, other structure of the brain is normal. The baby is healthy as well. One more month left for the delivery. What does this means ? A reply would be highly appreciated
Hello! When the radiologist states that the "calcarine sulcus is partially visualized," it likely implies that during the ultrasound, only a portion of this brain structure could be seen. Often, this isn't necessarily alarming, since factors such as the baby's positioning, equipment quality, among others, can lead to less-than-complete ultrasound images. If the report indicates that the rest of the brain structures appear normal and the baby is overall in good health, these are typically encouraging signs. Nevertheless, it's always best to discuss these ultrasound findings with your obstetrician. Best Wishes!
we just went to our 20 week and found that our baby has severe hydrocephalus as well as malformed cerebellum. very heartbreaking to see and I am angry that when we went to our regular doctor at 16 weeks she supposedly didn't see anything wrong at all. now looking at this and understanding what a normal brain should look like I can say for certain it was clearly evident a month ago but we were not informed. according to Arizona law this is a viable human fetus and we have no choice but to give birth, abortions are only allowed now up to 15 weeks which is absurd because there is no way to know about THIS until 16 to 20 weeks....our child will not have a brain and will be suffering. never mind the unnecessary medical costs in trying to keep him alive for any amount of time and the absolute anguish we will feel for the rest of this pregnancy and for however long this child lives. noone has any business telling us what the right decision is in this situation, if ever there was a reasonable cause for termination this would be it.
we did find that in California we could do what we needed to do, so we traveled there for it. we are heartbroken but know it was the right thing to do. I was so grateful that the people we dealt with there were so kind and understanding.
Feeling really sorry to hear from you Nd surprised to see ignorant behaviour of Drs even in developed countries that they missed such a clear finding on ultrasound.praying for you, did you get a chance of termination?

Hi I had an ultrasound at 23 weeks and it showed the posterior lateral ventricle measuring 2.3cm and prominent choroid cysts measuring 5mm what does this mean?
Hello. The posterior lateral ventricle measuring 2.3cm suggests enlargement of the lateral ventricle, known as ventriculomegaly. Ventricle enlargement could be due to a variety of reasons, including developmental abnormalities or other brain conditions. The choroid plexus cysts with ventricle enlargement may be associated with genetic conditions. It requires further evaluation and monitoring. Please consult with your doctor. Best Wishes!
Hello sir I'm 5 month pregnant, my baby right brain is 10.8mm and left 10.8 Mm is this OK or not.. Next Month again Dr said repeat scan.. Please reply me sir
Hello! The ventricles of the brain measure slightly above normal limit. This can be a normal finding. It is important to have follow up scans as advised by your doctor. Best Wishes!
Hello sir ! I'm done my 24 weeks Anamoly scan...Both the lateral ventricle are prominent 8.00 mm in right and 7.7 mm in left.. what's the meaning of this report? Is the my baby is safe?
In my 5th month anomaly scan mentioned is "lateral ventricle is not dilated, mild prominent of left lateral ventricle, maximum diameter 8.1 mm within normal limit" sir please tell me is there any problem?
Hi. The report indicates that the lateral ventricle is normal in size. The left lateral ventricle is seen but its diameter is still within normal range. It is usually concerning if the diameter is more than 10mm.
Sir now am 19.week 5 days csp not mention and corpous collousum review suggested for two week , if any pblm with that, doctor told me its depends on gestation age . Bpd 45.9 mm, calvarium, cisterna manga, ventricle normal ,posterior fossa normal, and no intracranial lession
It is difficult to comment accurately on it from here without seeing the report. Your doctor will let you know after the review. The BPD is within normal range. Most of the brain anatomy you mentioned is normal. Best Wishes!
Hi doc, upon CAS the head of my baby is dilated 1.30mm. i am now 19 weeks gestational. I am very worried. Is there any possibility that it will be back to normal? Thank you

This may be due to CMV infection or it can be a choroid plexus cyst, which is harmless. But it is difficult to accurately comment on it from here. Please consult with your doctor regarding this issue. Best Wishes!
@@sidssays1176 It is not possible to predict whether the ventricle size will be abnormally increased. Close monitoring on ultrasound is preferred due to previous history of hydrocephalus
