started playing this game in 2018 never knew how to hack properly i would just rely on luck, now legit on the last mission i paused my game and look up how to hack in fallout 4 haha. I feel weird tho, i am moments away from finishing the game right now and i just feel emotional :c 2 years of playing this well i didnt play everyday for 2 years because i was pretty busy with college and then i just forgot about the game, only recently i tried playing it again. Damn whatever the ending is i hope it doesn't make me cry.
EDIT: just finished the game, damn it was pretty damn sad honestly. Right after i ended the game i went back to vault 111 to see her. Walking through the vault feels like visiting my middle school irl, very nostalgic for some reason. When i got to her pod i didn't cry but it made me sad to think that she didn't get to see shaun. I really am getting emotional over a video game but i guess that's just the beauty of it.

Higher intelligence leads to less fake answers. Even popping a mentats helps or finding clothes with intelligence boost

Also, on easy or very easy terminals, the correct amount of digits in a guess can be helpful, and if your good enough then it could be the same with other levels of terminals.

The trick ive used since fallout 3 is if you fail and only have one attempt left, exit the terminal and then click A to hack again and everything is reset. It’s impossible to fail or get locked out, but since everything resets so do the words and everything so it may take longer, but if you dont mind having some patients, you’ll eventually unlock all terminals, just dont use that last attempt before aborting the hack.

Great tip. Having hacked hundreds of terminals, I finally gave in and use a mod to instantly hack terminals. I may disable that mod and try your method for the fun of it.

Srategy:
1. Take 3 guesses. Doesn’t matter which ones, just eliminate 3 potential words
2. Use every bracket, brace, chevron and parentheses to remove duds and restore chances
3. Keep guessing with remaining chances
It needs to be done in this order to maximize your chances.

Speaking of passwords, there should be a password mod for 1,2,3,4,5 and you hear a voice, "That's the kind of password an idiot would have on his luggage."
