  • I find the crown wheel bolts loose while cleaning the diff on the MF135 6 speed. I remove, clean and re tension the bolts then fit the diff and axle housing to the tractor.

    I'm glad you showed the loose bolts on the ring gear. I'm at the point of pulling the axle housings off my TO20 and put new gaskets and seals in. I'll be sure and check those bolts. Thanks!

    How's it going mate, great videos you have, I've worked for massey ferguson tractors for 30 year's in the uk, we have seen many problems with loose crown wheel bolts and the devastating problems because of this...we now spot weld the crown wheel bolts and this aids the torque of the nut during assembling with loctite..a lot of massey ferguson tractors have loose crown wheel bolts and it definitely recks the transmission.

      Yes it seems they are often loose like you say, spot weld is probably a good idea.

    Thanks for another great video Lance. Those bolts at about 2:40 on my 135 where loose so I tightened them the best I could with an open ender, what’s involved in tightening them properly with a socket? I am a Limited DIY sort of a guy😊

      just get them real tight and they should be good to go.

    Another great video lance . The two te 20s I have had loose crown wheel bolts but they are punched on the threads to stop them comming off altogether. I suppose their was no loctite in the 60s 70s to do the job your doing . Lance have you some sort of rust prevention on the metal of the trumpet housing as it looks shining or what do you do before primer . Thanks again for the great vidieos.

      I just use a primer then top cover.

    When replacing the Pinion and Crown, how do you set the check and set the backlash?

    • @BundyBearsShed
      @BundyBearsShed  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes but there is very little adjustment and it is done by shims under the bearing cups.

      Thank-you for replying, truly appreciate it. Do you have a vid on this? I’m more of a visual learner. Been binging your 135 series. They are fantastic videos...
