Ya they really all are beautiful cards no doubt.
The real question is, do you trust S-Class? lol

I’m so sad for you. I’d be pretty mad. It’s that you paid for it as “S” quality and got basically B or C ranking for Japanese cards. He ripped you off. I wouldn’t feel bad asking for a refund. Sob stories are not valid reasons to overpromise and under deliver as a seller. He was dishonest so it’s hard to feel bad for him.

@@PokeBowlCards thanks ya. I over estimated on the grades too subconsciously giving him the benefit of the doubt. My calculations were even more off than I showed. I probably shoulda just returned it, but I was still enamored with them.

I mean.. you do damage them just by touching or breathing near them so I've never been a believer in "S rank" because it's a near impossible standard. It'd have to be sealed in an airtight case in the factory to be that perfect. It's not a thing. I also don't think any seller should list anything as "NM++" or "S" rank, sleeving can damage them, shipping can damage them, every card is gonna have some tiny flaw that someone will see or find whether from the previous owner, the factory, or from age. It just happens. One of the banes of collecting anything - it all ages no matter how careful you are.
I'm sorry you got sucked into a bad deal, these are still beautiful cards (I'd kill for some of these) but not the perfection you wanted. I actually go out of my way to buy from sellers who straight up say they do not have perfect cards. I find they're more honest about flaws and showing photos because they know the buyer isn't expecting PSA 10/untouched.

@@NostalgiaUnicorn I had never ever heard of S rank before this but it definitely got me too excited. Haha. I struggle with not trusting people because I am the type of seller you described when people ask me to take closer pictures I'll straight up tell them this card will not get a 10. I also take HD unsleeved pics of every single card on eBay. Even for multi quantity cards, I only list one at a time so I can take a set of new pictures for every card. I have become more skeptical of others unfortunately.
That is exactly why I ended up keeping them because they are amazing cards, and I didn't want to not have them haha.
I appreciate your morale support greatly. 🥂

Its not like you had any way of looking at the cards or even a picture of the cards online somewhere to identify damage and wear lol
really on some of these you should have been able to see i wouldn't have touched that magneton card lol

@@OllIllWill I know I def take the blame. I enabled myself to get scammed by trusting the guy. He said he didn't really want to take them out because they were pristine and he hated taking them out of the double sleeves. So I didn't force it and thought I just met one of those people who takes that good of care of his cards. 🫠

not everyone is a lame person that views pokemon cards as investment. I love my old cards and like looking at them without the lame psa thing. people like you ruin this hobby by making it speculative

You are either rich, or can not get much in this hobby. Personally the only way i can partake in the hobby is if i care about what I am buying, I don't get an allowance to spend family funds on my hobby. I apologize this doesn't jive with you. When i buy cards to put into my collection I am always looking for value so that I can put them into my collection for cheaper. Watch some of my other videos and see how much I care about the cards. I think it is is an amazing thing that people are getting educated on prices because there is less chance of getting scammed. Do you know how many people message me begging me that the things I am selling are real because they have gotten scammed, on value, condition, and authenticity. The condition affects value, and I gladly did put many of these cards in my binder, and do not care about the condition of those, but it is not what I paid for, plain and simple.

Just because you don’t care about the quality of your cards doesn’t mean those who do are bad for the hobby. The OP is just as valid to expect the cards that were sold as “S” quality to actually have them be high quality. S quality in Japanese is top tier super fresh. These are not that.
