It does appear that way, and I agree. Less work and complication following 10 stores at different dates and times to try and get a product.

@ they test products in my store and if the product sells well (like Pokemon) they no longer bring it in my store and stock it in bigger stores, when a product performs poorly (like sports cards) they stock it more at my store rather than bigger stores

This is a great point and tbh, I meant to bring that up again here as a possible counter argument. I mentioned that in my video where I talk about how I 50xd my collection by countering the hype and playing off that lag. There is def blame at every level INCLUDING us, but at the end it doesn't matter because the problem is here, and the market's emotions don't change, they are what they are, every single cycle. Ever heard of Wyckoff? Hopefully it is mostly the lag, but when I started putting myself in a pokemon execs shoes it really made me rethink things.

I feel bad for them but at the same time I'll be happy to have more chances to get MSRP product so I can open it and not feel bad.

It really more complicated than that but I am kinda surprised there are no rules for LGS with distribution. It's the wild West from TPC's view, stores selling play promos, presales without guaranteed product, selling first wave products for more than MSRP. The stores are not to blame, it's up to Pokemon to make things right.

I am in the midwest, and I do not get distribution unfortunately, I have to buy things just like everybody else. That is awesome you are starting that up, good luck to you! @@CorkIsSexy I'm actually shocked you are the first person to say that, but I think it goes back to why Pokemon of what it is. Everybody has a different memory of opening and the nostalgia and enjoyment of the hobby comes from memories just like yours. Thanks for sharing

@@scottrulka6587 I can concur with this and a future video for sure ;). I happened to pull the giratina alt and rotom alt from the one lost origin BB I opened at release. Every since then I buy into your theory as well.

Can you believe they have been putting Yuka Morii's clay art in since the neo era in WOTC. I had a heck of a time going back and looking at all the ones I overlooked over the years. So glad to have my people like you find me on YT.

@ketchemallcards I'm a gen 1 nerd. The best thing I love getting are full art cards. The charmander with his head against the window looking at the pidgy is by far the funniest card I've ever seen.

There is no shame in that. ;) Yukika Baba arts are always pleasing to me. Maybe I can snag some Shaymin luck as well

@@ketchemallcards For sure I was ripping a few a week but now that they are getting tougher to source I backed off for now. Some batching issues for a few with dupes in same box but mostly 8-10 hits. Box with 3 radiant zards was interesting. 4 pikachus that have gone up was nice also with 2 in one box though. Worst box was like $18 at the time and I was more than happy with that.

@@NostalgiaUnicorn I had never ever heard of S rank before this but it definitely got me too excited. Haha. I struggle with not trusting people because I am the type of seller you described when people ask me to take closer pictures I'll straight up tell them this card will not get a 10. I also take HD unsleeved pics of every single card on eBay. Even for multi quantity cards, I only list one at a time so I can take a set of new pictures for every card. I have become more skeptical of others unfortunately. That is exactly why I ended up keeping them because they are amazing cards, and I didn't want to not have them haha. I appreciate your morale support greatly. 🥂

@@OllIllWill I know I def take the blame. I enabled myself to get scammed by trusting the guy. He said he didn't really want to take them out because they were pristine and he hated taking them out of the double sleeves. So I didn't force it and thought I just met one of those people who takes that good of care of his cards. 🫠

@@PokeBowlCards those promos have got to be low pop. I've opened about 5 and haven't gotten any gradable promos yet. The Leafeon is the card I pulled in my literal first pack in crown zenith, so it is special to me too.

You are either rich, or can not get much in this hobby. Personally the only way i can partake in the hobby is if i care about what I am buying, I don't get an allowance to spend family funds on my hobby. I apologize this doesn't jive with you. When i buy cards to put into my collection I am always looking for value so that I can put them into my collection for cheaper. Watch some of my other videos and see how much I care about the cards. I think it is is an amazing thing that people are getting educated on prices because there is less chance of getting scammed. Do you know how many people message me begging me that the things I am selling are real because they have gotten scammed, on value, condition, and authenticity. The condition affects value, and I gladly did put many of these cards in my binder, and do not care about the condition of those, but it is not what I paid for, plain and simple.

Just because you don’t care about the quality of your cards doesn’t mean those who do are bad for the hobby. The OP is just as valid to expect the cards that were sold as “S” quality to actually have them be high quality. S quality in Japanese is top tier super fresh. These are not that.

That's how I got where I am, driven by my binders and a limited budget I've learned how to make my dollars go farther without dedicating my life to shipping by being a volume reseller or getting distribution. Some people will buy raw cards to grade and make money, I do that too, but trying to find 10s online is so hit and miss, I would rather just have fun opening my own packs and making it a challenge to find ways to make my money back. Since I've been doing this for years a lot of the stuff I didn't get to selling or had just been sitting around has shot up in value, especially all the cards in my binders which I mostly made cheap and free along the way. Every one of my sword and shield binders is complete via these tactics and spending lots of actual profits on the missing cards. So no I do not think you are wrong. Enjoy it how you will, but try and be smart with what you enjoy and over time you will accrue value.

@@JadaaFresh I broke even with what I presented in the video but realized after the fact I didn't include the 8 magneton promos I got from the PC etbs so if any of those ten I'm far in the green. I will send one of each copy in order to fill my digital shelves but I don't want to rack up a ton of grading fees of duplicates with slower moving cards.

Just the species collectors alone make it a great play, but tapping into favorite artists is brilliant! I bought a PSA 10 Brilliant Star PreRelease Moltres last year because I’m such a fan of Shinji Kanda. At that moment I should have realized there are going to be other people going of after commons and uncommons of their favorite artists! I might have this a try on a small scale!

@PokeBowlCards yep I keep it small too, send 1 at a time and only send the most perfect copies because 9s are insta losses. Glad to shed some light and show that the sales really are there.

What makes crypto any more valid of an investment that Pokemon? Both are deemed valuable because a mass of people find them valuable. If anything Pokemon has a much longer track record than Crypto.
