God bless you. My dad passed in March and I've bought new equipment but my brother missplaced the manual and he's not here at the moment lol. Thank you sir!
@@TechMadeEzy Hi there, I have been so busy getting ready for the COLD winter. Right now it is 32° with high today 45. Rain and wind to keep one inside. I did call EGO about my mower ratcheting noise and ended up with my sending a recording for them to hear and get back to me on. I haven't heard from them yet, so will have to contact them again when I find time. If I had your email address, I could send you the horrible noise it makes when free wheel pushing in the garage. I finally am finding time to use my new green-works pole trimmer. Hope it works?
I love my ego trimmer. But if it has been used, not new, I would like to meet the person who has strong enough fingers or thumbs to push the tabs in. I always have to use a flat head screw driver to push in the tabs in to get the head off.
I just bought this same trimmer a couple of days ago, and was wondering about the need to use the guard. I notice that NONE of the professional lawn services use guards on their trimmers. Apparently the risk/reward is worth it for them. I understand that a guard can minimize shooting debris, but what is the advantage of not using the guard? Thanks! I love all your videos, which helped me to decide to also purchase the new 21” XP mower and the 650cfm blower.
Hi Danny just make sure you wear eye protection and gloves if you’re not gonna use the guard. Not using the guard for me makes using the trimmer to be more flexible and it allows me to get onto tight spots for a better cut.
@@TechMadeEzy - I haven’t used it yet. My brother’s coming over to buy all my Husqvarna lawn equipment first thing in the morning, and then I’ll have a place to store the new gear. My question wasn’t because I bump too much string out of the spool, it had to do with ensuring the string coming out of both sides was the same length, hence balanced. Or is that not an issue? Thanks again!
When you feed it for the first time you want to feed it evenly and then push the button so it actually sucks at all in correctly. When you first get it new in the box the string should already be installed so that shouldn’t be an issue. When I used it and I use the bump I didn’t really get too much coming out so wasn’t an issue for me.
I bought one and it is way above any trimmer I have had. I like everything about it but its weight. I am 66 and have back problems and this trimmer starts to let me know how much its weight is after about 20 minutes of use. Maybe a strap?
Terry 1st thanks for watching, yes definitely get a strap it definitely helps, I did a short video on the straps, also if you like you can use our Amazon links in the description if not it's all good, check Lowes also Let me know how it goes please th-cam.com/video/4z1ZLc107tc/w-d-xo.html
Thank you very much! Just bought this trimmer , and I had no idea how that loading button worked. Btw......mine isn't carbon fiber , it's aluminum......so kinda bummed on that.
Jeffro don't be bummed. I have never heard of the other metal shafts breaking or bending and they are only a few oz heavier, not significantly heavier and a bit cheaper than the carbon fiber.
Mine is having problems reloading! I can’t find another video with this problem. I’ve reloaded it multiple times but now when I press the reload button the string won’t wrap on the inside. Please help!
Hi Doug Yes you can but you can buy ego refill packs and they would be just the right amount. What I would say is buy 1 refill, measure how long it is for the future then when you buy the large pack of sting you know how much to cut, hope that helps

@@TechMadeEzy I'm an EGO products lover too, exited for the new tool next year, 10amp battery, zero turn lawn mower, gps controlled lawn mower... OMG...
After a few months the powerload stopped working Can't find a way to hand load. EGO is the Worst Company Ever - they will repair under warranty but will take 200 miles and four hours of driving. It takes hours and hours to reach them on phone, and they don't follow thru. I deeply regret buying the trimmer, hedge trimmer and blower from them, committing to their battery. Worst Company Ever!
@@TechMadeEzy Ego mowers suck!! On my second mower and it is dead. First mower lasted one week, took back to home depot and received a replacement which lasted one season. After using for the summer packed it up and stored in garage, went to use it this year and it spun once then died, will not run. Purchased John Deere Tractor instead!! Their chain saw also sucks, chain won't stay on. I have been using gas chain saws for fifty plus years with no trouble, Ego just plain sucks!!! Save your money.
We all have different opinions and perspectives especially based on our experiences so I totally understand. Thanks again for sharing that's what my channel is about
@@TechMadeEzy Got that part. Many landscapers take the guard off to cover more cutting area, doing that supposedly degrades the life of gas motors. Was wondering if you noticed an impact on your battery motor?
Thank you so much. Your video showed me exactly how to load the string. I followed it and it worked great.
Thank you Maja

Thanks. That worked just as it should. I have never had one that loaded so easily.
Thanks so much CJ for sharing hope you stay with us on the channel 👍🏼
GREAT video! Thank you.
I have the trimmer but had not looked into that part yet. Just been trimming on the string it was loaded with when received.
Thanks M ! Where you been? It’s soo much easier to load with that model

Great to know as I did not see the reload section in my manual, did EGO forget to add it? DUH! Anyway I love it!

I agree with you, that should be a better mechanism 👍🏻
Very helpful
Took me and my neighbor 50x to get string in straight. 😆 🤣 😂
I was changing mine earlier today believe it or not and it took me a few times I must say
It would be helpful to have the model number in the title to search easier. I'm having a difficult time finding a model ST1500SF .
Great video
Thanks Brad appreciate that and glad you liked it
Hi Tech , the trimmer does come in a metal shaft also the carbon fiber or I think its graphite is a little more $$$👍
Hi Grassthief, Yup I realized that, they make like 5 models with powerload some also straight shaft. Thanks appreciate it
Tech Made Easy 👍 keep up the informative VIDS , great job

@@TechMadeEzy - Thanks for the reply. So when bumping the spool, do you just carry some string cutters with you?
No honestly, why though is that much string coming out when you bump ?

The first 2 times this worked great, but after a bit of usage it won't reel in the line anymore. So you're stuck with an expensive unusable product.

Does not using the guard stress the motor?
The guard really keeps the string from getting too long and it also helps prevent things from kicking back on you like rocks and stuff
