    Unfortunately, when the napkins are packaged, it’s hard to tell what the overall pattern is.

    • @hopalongstudio
      @hopalongstudio  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That is true. Some only have the pattern on one panel, some continue over both panels. That's the difficulty with napkins, you don't always know the design until you open the package. I get a lot of my napkins through napkin exchanges or Ninny's Napkins, so I tend to have a better idea of what I'm getting.

      Thank you! I found it at a little boutique online napkin store called Ninny's Napkins. You can get a few at a time, which is nice because then you don't end up with a pile of extra napkins.

    Hi! Curious about the brand of those pretty floral & leafy napkins and especially some with
    useful words; I don't seem to find any that interesting and I've only found napkins that have
    the same images on all 4 sides which is very limiting. All the napkins I've found have a
    crimped edge that is hard to get rid of; does the gel simply smoothe it out? Thanks.

      My napkins come from all over the place, some from napkin exchanges and my friends knowing that I love napkins and saving some for me. I also get napkins from Ninny's napkins (ninnysnapkins.com/) as they have a lot of unique designs. A lot of napkins have the crimped edges, often the medium will help smooth it out, but depending on the napkin, you may see a little bit of the texture. I generally don't mind the texture, it's just another layer for my mixed media projects!

      Thank you! I'm glad that you enjoyed the video. It was a fun technique- I really should have more flaps in my art journals, I just don't always think about it! I think that'll be a new challenge for me in 2024!

    I use napkins but picked up some additional ideas on how to use them. I especially liked the full page with the trees. I’m going to have to try that. Thanks!

    OMG that succulent napkin you used first is SO beautiful. I LOVE using napkins and have a big stash of them because I cant resist the lovely ones lol. To keep the colour of a napkin if you want to put it on a dark background you can keep one layer of the white under paper on and stick both down, or you can glue your separated napkin onto white card stock then cut out when dry.

    • @hopalongstudio
      @hopalongstudio  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! It was a bit of a find! There's a online store here in Canada called Ninny's Napkins that I find a lot of my very favorite napkins. The succulents are some of my favorite designs! That's a good point, keeping an extra layer of napkin underneath or attaching to white cardstock, thanks for sharing! I usually use napkins on white backgrounds and negative paint in deeper colors if I want to go in that direction. But there are a lot of different ways of having napkins look amazing on art journal pages! Thanks for watching!

      @@hopalongstudio Ive heard of Ninnys Napkins. The last lot I got was from a napkin store in the UK. You just cant get such a big range here in Australia.

      @@artbyyuna337 Oh nice! It's good to know that there a few great napkin places around. It is hard to find good designs- it definitely takes some looking. Thankfully my art journaling friends and I do napkin exchanges from time to time!
