Thank you!!!❤❤
Do you wait few hours before curing them in oven
Lamp shades with the light shining through look amazing.
That would be beautiful! I'll have to give that a try sometime! I mostly work in my art journal, but I really should try adding them to decor around my house. Thanks for the great idea!
@@hopalongstudio can't wait to see what you come up with. I promise you, you will love what you see.
@@Paulsofsteel I'm sure it'll be amazing! Now I just need to find a lampshade to alter......
You can make the most amazing lamp shades with napkins. When the light shines through, wow.
That's a great suggestion!
When you are adding collage medium to your napkin, make sure to make a few strokes so that the medium is even, but try not to overwork the napkin image! One think that helps with this is using a large brush- I like to use a 1" brush for most of my napkin decoupage!
Kindly give the links of all the products

So helpful, thanks so much! I was looking for an acrylic pen to sign my recently completed acrylic painting of my favorite neighborhood cat, Felix. I'm buying the Uni Posca Paint Marker Extra Fine (0.7mm) now. Colors are a bit limited but I can use the black or gold for the signature. thanks so much. PAINT ON!!!
You're welcome! The Posca's are amazing pens. After spending so much time on a piece, being able to have a good quality pen to sign with is a great thing. You're right, the colors are limited, but I tend to use a lot of metallics, black and white in my projects.
Thanks for your video. It was a great watching you blend the colours 🌸
You're welcome, I'm glad that you enjoyed it. That's sweet of you to say, there's something amazing about blending with watercolors!
@@hopalongstudio It is that magical blending of colours that I love the most 🌺
This is wonderful. I just watched your video on your weekend class and subscribed to your channel and found this!! Thank you!!
I'm glad that you enjoyed the video. Thanks for subscribing and I hope that you give this project a try!
Love the variation. I have never seen art done in a journal-fashion. I am now fascinated!! Thank you so much for sharing.
Thank you! I love the art journal, it's my laboratory to try out all sorts of techniques without worrying about a finished piece. I like to add personal journaling to my pieces too, which doesn't always work for wall art. Definitely check out art journaling and art sketchbooks, there's so much inspiration out there. Books are so fun to create in!
Can you use brushes with Panpastels?
You can, but I'd suggest a stiffer bristled brush so that more of the pigment goes onto the surface. I tend to use sponges because it generally creates less dust and loose pigment. I've moved away from the Sofft sponges due to the expense and when I teach classes, I have my students use disposable makeup applicators and makeup sponges and they work really well.
Thank you for the info.
Necesitaba este video. Muchas gracias

Hello to my fellow Calgarian! I’m in south Calgary, and love fishcreek park too!❤
It's nice to meet a fellow Calgarian! I love Fish Creek Park, it's definitely one of my favorite places to walk and bike!
Love it!❤
Thank you!!
So beautiful! I just received my pastels today. I’m so excited to order that die cut
So exciting! I hope that you love using them, they are a fantastic medium!
Thank you for sharing
You're welcome! Thanks for watching!
Could you use Gesso or texture paste?
Absolutely! Any paste or heavy gesso will work. Each paste has a slightly different finish and consistency, but anything that has a bit of grip (or tooth) will work with pan pastels. If it dries too smooth, you can always rough it up with sandpaper.
How do you adhere the foil to 110# cardstock? What kind of glue do you have to use to get it to stick onto the cardstock really good?
I like to use tin tape because it has a strong adhesive that I can apply directly to 110lb cardstock. If I'm using aluminum foil, I use a good quality glue like Art Glitter glue, but any PVA or wood glue will also work. To see a detailed video about how to do this, check out this video that I created: th-cam.com/video/xbJGpunxPo0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=P3kAusE0QAL2kkmi
I had no idea disposable fountain pens were a thing.
I know! It was a new discovery for me too! They are perfect for anyone who wants to try out fountain pens without spending a lot of money on a conventional fountain pen.
When you raster engraving please help do I not use svg?
Unfortunately I don't have an experience with raster engraving. All the images that I used with the deco foil were PDF images I printed on my computer.
When using the Pebeo Vitrea paint, cure your project in the oven at 325F for 40 minutes. But make sure that the oven is up to temperature before adding your project! If you're using another glass paint, make sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions for curing.
Thanks for inspiration. Just starting to use modling paste and stencils in my paintings.
You're welcome! That's fantastic! Modeling paste and stencils work beautifully in paintings. Sometimes I mix the color in and other times I paint it on top. There's so much versatility when using mediums.
Her kagida olur mu
I'm not sure if I quite understand your question. My translation is "does it happen on every paper?" Can you give me a bit more context? Thanks!
You don’t need the scissors, just twist the cap and it breaks the plastic. I love these paint markers as well.
Yes, they are great paint markers!
How long do you cure them in the oven? Thanks.
325F for 40 minutes is the manufacturer's instructions. If you're not using the Vitrea paint, follow the manufacturer's instructions for the brand of paint that you're using.
@@hopalongstudio Thank you.
Can I use rubbing alcohol to thin?
Good question. Considering that you're working with an acrylic paint that bakes on, I would stick to their medium or another acrylic based product. Depending on how much you want to thin it, if you're only looking to thin 5-10%, I'd maybe try using water. I just don't know how well it will bake after thinning. I would stay away from alcohol. I tend to use alcohol to remove acrylic from surfaces, so I don't think it would be a good choice to mix with the paint. The glass paint is different from regular paint, so where I would usually figure out other substitutions, because we're baking it so that it can stand up to washing and use, I wouldn't want to mess too much with the chemical properties of the paint.
Lovely
Thank you!
Thanks. I have a lot of dried leaves..I have been using matte medium.. it works fine
That's good to know! I tend to go between matte medium and gel medium depending on the leaf. But thanks for letting me know how it's been working for you!
Thank you
You're welcome!
Thanks
You're welcome!
I just found you I really like you and you’re cute. Now I have to find out what we are using just a glued on acetate on top of a wood panel. That’s got underneath Montana spray paint and pan pastels thank you.
That's sweet of you to say. I'm glad that you found my channel! Oh nice! That's great that you're working with so many different mediums, I hope that you get some great results!
My question is what glue is the best to use without making it foggy. Plz ASAP
With acetate, it's hard to find a good glue that will completely be hidden when used with acetate. I tend to use Art Glitter glue because it does dry clear. But you can usually tell against the stark white of the paper where the glue was applied. I tend to try to add the glue to a place that has color on it, this will hide the adhesive better. But if you've colored on the back of the acetate, I would suggest using glue dots over wet glue to make sure that your beautiful creation doesn't smear. The other option is to add other elements on top of the acetate to hide the places that you need to glue. The other option (which I haven't tried myself) is using a spray adhesive. If you can find one that dries clear, this could be a good option because it will cover the entire surface and look uniform. Here's a couple of affiliate links to the products I've suggested above: Art Glitter Glue: amzn.to/4aMSUHu Glue Dots Clear Dry Adhesive: amzn.to/3xST5T3 I hope that helps!
Unfortunately, when the napkins are packaged, it’s hard to tell what the overall pattern is.
That is true. Some only have the pattern on one panel, some continue over both panels. That's the difficulty with napkins, you don't always know the design until you open the package. I get a lot of my napkins through napkin exchanges or Ninny's Napkins, so I tend to have a better idea of what I'm getting.
What a great video. I found you on Pinterest! New Subscriber and thumbs up!❤
Thanks for subscribing and I'm so glad that you enjoyed the video! Thanks for letting me know where you found out about my channel. All the work I've been putting into Pinterest is starting to pay off! I'm so glad that you found me and are enjoying the content!
At marker 13:28 you use a fantastic stencil which I’d like to buy. Any idea where to get it. Thanks ❤
It's by The Crafter's Workshop, the stencil is TCW780 Botanical Dream. It's not available on Amazon or through any of my affiliate links (it's an older stencil), but you may be able to get it directly from The Crafter's Workshop site.
I'm trying to play with brushos and wanted to see if it would work over white paste - clearly it does! I stupidly did my box with black gesso and forgot that brushes are transparent. I'm going to go over with white before adding my brushos. What do white brushos do? I presume they are only one colour. Do they just lighten the colour of other brushos?
Yes, the Brushos work amazingly well over white paste. It's an easy mistake to make starting with black gesso but if you added in a layer of white brushos and added in other color on top, they would mix with the white and you would get some of the color through. Yes, you're correct. I use the white brushos to add in lighter color in my pigments when working on black paper. Where the white brushos really shine is on black paper. Now you can get metallic brushos, which opens up a lot more options when working on a black surface.
A couple weeks??😳 I wanted to do the project TODAY. 😢
Well this is an older video, so you can find the next project where I shared how to use these leaves with collage: th-cam.com/video/iiebQFiWrVA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=RlwCwiuolUEi7zEY I've also tried using dried leaves on a pumpkin, this technique can apply to any 3d and rounded surface: th-cam.com/video/docSsrYP26Q/w-d-xo.htmlsi=gNy8KpcejiTLWbbq I hope that gives you some inspiration!
Thank you…lovely! Are you happy with how the Amsterdam paints work on the gel plate?
You're welcome! Yes, I love the Amsterdam paints with the gel plate. There a great combination of a smooth and easy to spread paint with excellent pigmented color!
If you use Spectrafix spray you shouldn’t notice any colour change.
Yes, I've learned about Spectra Fix since I posted this first video! Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this. It took me a while to find a good fixative that will not darken the Pan Pastel.
Well done video. I'm looking at different ideas on choosing the one thing I must do today. Thanks.
Thank you! I'm glad that it was helpful for you. Choosing priorities is never an easy thing!
What a fun process…FYI I just purchased wet strength tissue….cant wait to try your technique..mraz
WHHHAATTT?!?!? There's wet strength tissue available? I've never heard about it before! Now I'm going to have to go find some! I'm always looking for a way to add more translucent layers to my projects while not compromising on strength. Thanks for the suggestion and I hope that you get great results with the technique!
love that deep blue sky in the painting behind you.
Thank you! It's one of my favorite paintings that I've created so far. I love using vivid colors in my paintings!
I feel like when I add high quality acrylic paint to my paste it thins it out you much. Any tips?
Yes, that's sometimes the difficulty with the high flow paints. They have the most pigment, which you hope it won't affect the paste too much, but it sometimes does. It also depends on the color that you're trying to achieve. I play with a lot of different pastes and gels. If I want to create with really dark and vibrant color, where I will need to mix a lot of paint into it, I'll go for the heaviest medium I can find. So instead of using light molding paste, I'll use heavy molding paste knowing that by the time I mix in the paint, it'll have a softer consistency. The same goes with gels. I'll start with an extra heavy gel and add paint to it knowing that it's going to soften up as I go. The other option is to start with a darker color of paint, or play with color mixing, so that you need to add the least amount of paint possible to get the color of the paste that you want. For example, if I'm going for a mid-toned blue, I'll use a super dark Indigo to color my paste. This way I don't have to use as much paint.
Hi, I know this is an older video, but it just popped up. I love what you are doing! I've only recently discovered Brushos, and enjoying trying them out. Thank you for this. Like you I'm not keen on faces in my art, but this is great. X.
Thank you! I'm glad that you're enjoying the Brushos, they are a fantastic medium! It's good to mix up imagery every once in a while, but this technique could definitely be used with flowers, animals or architecture. Thanks for watching and for your kind comment!
