This video's been a treat to the eyes and my ears as well! Fantastic technique. You got me wide-eyed at least two times during your painting. And the funky bluesy music made it a totally worthwhile experience! Thank you and kudos to you!
Great tutoring. That is exactly a kind of gentle comprehansive tutoring . Not some ‘bla-bla’ ...loved your color palette and the flowers are b-ful . Thanx so much for sharing your knowledge ...
Amazing insight into a gifted mind. I actually let out a scream when the blue and orange went on the first washes. I could not believe it would work, but it did! Watching the painting in action is like being inside your head. I love how you flit from flower to flower, a little here, a little there. Water color is such a free and expressive art. Thank you for posting!
Ma megint sokat tanultam Öntől, mert ez az oktató videó újdonságokat is mutatott nekem.A szépséget összekötötte a tanulással. Nagyon tetszik. Köszönöm. Üdv. Juli
Wow! I've only been painting for six months, and today I stumbled upon this video...the use of the rag...I have to say...I did NOT see that coming! Mesmerizing - as is your incredible music!!!
Fantastic! loved this! Excellent start to the New Year. The format with the annotations is great, no voice to interrupt the music or what you are doing so its easy to concentrate. I'm looking forward to the second part!
Thank you sir for your elaborate rose painting video. This is bit difficult for those who is the new learner . But practice again and again may helpful for them . Very nice tutorial .
Thank you very much for the tutorial!. I've been thinking to buy one of your painting, what a genius stroke you have! It's a must have to have your painting for collection.
Well Thank You Daria ! Yes you must have one of my paintings...The watercolour you've just watched is due for publication and exhibition in September...but its still available ? You can contact me on trevorwaugh1@gmail.com or go to www.trevorwaugh.com If you are in the UK ...you can visit my studio anytime :) Trevor
Omg this painting is so beautiful. Your video has been really helpful and an absolutely pleasure to watch. Your process is amazing 💙💚💛💜 I'm definitely going to give it a go.
Lovely variation on your other videos. Can't wait for Part 2, so some comments/questions: 1. Working with such wet paper and you only taped it to your board?? 140# would cockle like crazy that wet. Using 300#? I have to stretch and staple my 140 # to do this. 2. I usually dilute Aliz Crimson, add maybe a touch of red to get pink but seeing this, may have to buy a tube of Perm Rose. 3. Same with vermillion...I usually add a touch of pyrrole red to cad orange. It's more to simply my "paint collection" and not stock so many colors. But, I do like vermilion, as it's a very rich red/orange. 4. Your paint mixtures had to be very thick to avoid blooming, which only appeared to occur in a couple of places. 5. The use of the cloth! How tricky are you? I'm going to try this. I've been painting from your first flowers book, but may set that aside and try this approach. Thank you!
+Mike Porter Hi Mike 1. keep the paper soaked ...both sides if necessary ! I'm using Fabriano Artistico 300lb 640gms very durable surface. 2. No !... Use Perm rose...perfect for flower pinks ! and cheap as chips ! 3. I swear by Vermillion . beautiful colour ...adding a touch of Indian yellow to it now and then gives it more transparency ! 4. I very often load a DAMP brush with pure colour ..stops blooming 5. Use of cloth / old-fashioned rag-rolling trick used in decorative trades to produce wall papering effects before printed patterns were available . hope this info helps . Aye T
Just amazing. I was painting with you but mine doesn't look anything like yours, it will be pleasant when I finish some final touches. Learned much and love your style, your the best.
Hello :-) I'm so happy that TH-cam recommended this video for me! I love it!!! I just mixed colors to do this other daffodil painting, and as soon as I paint that, I'm going to do this
@@TrevorWaughOopsie, I didn't see your reply, and you are very welcome! I am re-subbing and re-turning on the bell ;-) I haven't gotten this technique "exactly/at all" yet, but about to try again.... Thank you so much!
I started on cotmans, now I have switched up a few colors and it's a mix of Lukas 1862, W&N, MaimeriBlu, and Daniel Smith all together in a 24 half pan set. I know it's a lot of money to get prof paints but I feel the need my paintings will look better, so should I replace every cotman color with a prof or buy a whole new set?
That's a Question...I stick to a mixed set of artist's colours and good quality student colours. I change them out every so often and work within a budget. It's all a question of preference. Obviously there are more bulking agents in student varieties.. but performance is the requirement ! for instance, I require Artist's quality Vermillion... because the student variety does not perform properly..and so on ... however yellow ochre in student is virtually the same....i'm afraid it's just trial and error...hope this helps Johnny !
Trevor is popping water and paint in, what we think is a random manner. Ah! But the master has a trick or two up his sleeve. Look and learn. Say that guitar is really hip. Thank you Trevor.

Love your techniques, you are fantastic. If you are in Victoria, Australia I would love to take lessons from you :) I'm turning into one of your biggest fans :)
i dont understand how your paper is not warping...as you've only taped it down at the corners, not the sides...i see so many artists painting wet in wet without their paper buckling at all...often they havent taped it down at all...somebody said if you wet it thoroughly in the tub for example, then it doesnt buckle, but that's not what ive found...even when using good quality like saunders...any advice please?
Are all the people who have commented here friends, because I haven't got a clue what just happened. Someone, slapped paint on a piece of paper, never spoke and ,hey presto, all comments are good. Got it, Podnuh. Just as I suspected. It appears that WN only makes Vermillion as I usually buy Daniel Smith and/or M. Graham. Just ordered some Rose.
