Modifying The ROPS On My Kubota B7100 To Fold. SAY WHAT!

  • In this video I modify my ROPS on my Kubota B7100. I needed them to fold down so I could use my backhoe. I am not condoning this but since it is my tractor, and I am the only one that uses it. I am willing to risk doing this. I cut the rops, welded on them and drilled holes in them when doing the modifications.

    Really great video. I bought my B7100 a year ago and it didn't come with a ROPS. Since a lot of my mowing is off camber I am trying to find a ROPS for it and I certainly want to be able to fold it down. Now thanks to your video as soon as I get one I can modify it as you did yours. This was a great help. Thank y6ou for posting.

    Hello, new viewer here, I have the same Kubota 7100 and I am having a hard time finding a ROPS for it. Could you tell me what part you got, and how did you get it to fit ? thank you very much for your help.

      Hello, my B7100 came with the rops already installed. It is a 1991. I would try a kubota dealership.

    Awesome work! Where does the rops bar connect on the tractor rear end? I got B6000 this summer and thinking about building roll bar sometime. I have the pto reverser, so that's taking some space at the rear end area.

      It is bolted to the rear end with 6 bolts where the pto output shaft is. There are some good shots of it in my Kubota playlist in some of the videos.

    Looks very good! Smart thing with the clamping of the wood to hold it together while cutting, I will keep that one in my memory. Did you do any calculations on the strength of just over dimensioned it?

      I did this back in Nov 2019 and I believe I just over built it with the pins and plates on the sides. I went and looked at a few rops at the Kubota dealer on smaller and larger tractors and took some Measurements. I have not rolled it to test it yet. Haha

    Hello, enjoying your videos........what's the size pipe that you used to able the rops to pivot on ? Thanks

    • @mikesworld60
      @mikesworld60  ปีที่แล้ว

      The Tractor is not here right now, but I know the pipe has an inside diameter (ID) of 3/4" and is thick wall at least 3/16". I used a grade 8 bolt and hardware (nylock nut)

    Hello Mike can you please tell me or send me a pict of the hydraulic pump on this tractor also pict of you mounting bracket’s.

    • @mikesworld60
      @mikesworld60  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Kubota B7100 HST D tractor I have has a hydrostatic transmission and the pump to run that is part of the Transmission. This is the same pump that supplies the loader and the 3-point hitch. I have another pump with its own hydraulic tank. It is attached to my backhoe which is a pto pump which attaches to the pto by the 3-point hitch. There are pictures of that in my series on my channel where I build a subframe to mount my backhoe.

      Mike. The pump that I’m asking it’s the one that it’s in the front of the tractor. It’s driving by the motor. It have 2 lines in and out. Bout I need a pict also the gpm please

    • @mikesworld60
      @mikesworld60  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@manvan8288 Do you have a manual transmission, Mine does not have a pump out there just an oil cooler in front of the radiator. This is because mine has a hydrostatic transmission. If you can find a make, model on the pump you may be able to look it up on the web. If it is a Kubota with a factory pump a Kubota dealer could probably give you the specs on it if you give them your tractor info.

      @@mikesworld60 all kubota's have a hydro pump driv'n off the engine, the hydrostat tranny you have, has nothing to do with the main pump running off the engine.

    • @mikesworld60
      @mikesworld60  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@alanshaw4655 You are correct, I just assumed since I did not have a pump on the front of the engine it was not mounted on the engine. Dumb assumption. I looked at my manual and it is located on the right-side rear of engine and the specs in my manual say gear pump (GP-OB-9.9-3127C). I'm not sure what GP-OB stands for I'm used to seeing GPM on a pump. Do you know what it means?

    Hey Mike. Im curious, what year is this B7100? And did it come with the front end loader when you bought it? From the research I’ve done, they made them from 1976-1985. But then Ive seen some that were labeled as late as 1995.
    Any info on the years of these would be super helpful. Looking to getting one and trying to figure out which year I should try and find.
    Thanks,
    Mike
