I'd personally recommend this set only if you either missed out on the individual toys, want to be a completionist, or want to display both the individual robot modes and the combined mode simultaneously.
Yeah I miss out and because im in canada longhaul cost 150$ on amazon so this box set is cheaper and I actually really want it I wish it will be in my local toy r us

Studio series or not, I’ll say this Devastator is incredibly badass compared to the $100 dollar Devastator I got back in like 2010. Sure that version was easily the coolest Transformer I had back then but this is above and beyond the original by far

Damn, I started collecting the Constructicons back in May, and I only have 4 of them currently. If I had known that Hasbro would release a box set of all 8 robots, I would have waited. Oh well.
You could always sell your originals and reinvest the money into this guy. That's what I did.

finally got mine completed. long haul was the last of the constructicons that i needed. it came in the mail yesterday.👌😁
When I heard the news of Studio Series doing a Devastator box set, I was excited. Not much was known. Many theorize that it would have a sand desert texture like this. Others thought that it would come with weapon accessories. And a small few thought that it would be a G1 redeco. Honestly, weapon accessories would have been better with this release. But I wish that it was G1 redeco. Because at least it would be more special. This Devastator box set definitely needed weapon accessories, but when it comes to the sand desert paint, it needed more. On the combiner's feet, hands, and individual Constructicons. Because so far, Long Haul is the only one that stands out. For example, Skipjack should have had some of that brown desert paint on his treads, which becomes the left foot.
I think that the reason that Hasbro made a Devestator figure and gave it more attention was that in the Revenge of the Fallen movie, there were clones of the Constucticons. So it would make sense that you can have a Devestator and clones of the Constructicons figures in your collection
the silver paint on scrapper and scrapmetal are to show the wear from being used for construction. digging and scraping the earth can be very abrasive on painted metal.
I can’t wait to see your Grimlock and Wheelie review and all the future studio series reviews! Keep up the great work!

Looks like a great complete set overall. Pretty positive this is going to drive towards completionists and those that haven’t been able to obtain a contsructicon on their own release. It feels like a missed opportunity that they didn’t add exclusive accessories, maybe the “enemy scrotum”, a miniature set of figures like Mudflap and Skids, or even the turrets or missile pods that appeared on his body. The dirt paint applications look passable but could have been enhanced with dry brushing like that with SS Shockwave and Grimlock. As someone who paints their figures to add a little life, it’s decent.
An immensely informative comparative review that will definitely go down in TF toy history! BRAVO!

I can rest in pieces now knowing that I wasn’t wrong when I decided to wait for a pack with all constructicons in one box. It was totally worth those two years of thinking that I might be wrong, but now I will have this great thing.
P.S. I can’t see either the enemy scrotum.
SS 69 i feel is only really valuable for those who missed out on all the earlier constructicons and so were gonna miss out on a complete set
i think it did deserve to be an individual character in the studio series line, like most other combining robots, they can be offered separately or as a set. also the specific number fits well considering a certain part of devastator’s lower torso in the movie.

Honestly, after seeing this review really gives me some positivity on these figures. I do plan on picking this set up because not only will it be easier to acquire them all. But they will look much better IMO.
Don’t neglect that scrapmetal costs about half the cost of the set when bought on eBay

Thank Primus for this set! I was getting worried about whether or not I'd be able to get the whole set, since I'm only able to get one or two at a time and the older ones (Rampage and Scrapmetal) are getting harder and harder to find, I was getting worried that I'd never complete Devastator, but this set has given me hope! As of now I only have Mixmaster and Hightower, but if I get this set then I could just give them away as gifts or something.

I've got all of the individual figures except frikin Scrapmetal who's going for stupid amounts on the secondary market. I really hope we get another individual release of him to online retailers since they obviously made more copies of the figure. I'd rather not have to buy this box set just for him but it probably isn't going to happen.
For those reasons I got ebay it on alert, got him for a decent prize including shipping, after some waiting.
I actually found a Scrapmetal at Walmart a few weeks ago and bought. I was so frickin excited!

This would be much better if they included some extra pieces like the one from the upgrade kit to make him look more movie accurate.
I won't be picking this thing up because I have Devastator from collecting the constructicons. I believe that there is more honor in collecting the constructicons separately to create Devastator
Would've sucked if this set came with extra pieces, because then I'd HAVE to buy this set just for those accessories, even when I already own all the Constructicons from their original release
@@nickvang7 I think that when they initially thought of putting them all in a box, they probably had the idea to add his shoulder wings which REALLY need to be there, and maybe his shoulder cannons, too. They probably realised that doing that would have pissed everybody off, and instead did some minor repaints

I think this is a good release for people who missed out on getting some of the Constructicons, because now theyve been scalped and jacked up in price on the after-market (looking at you, Long Haul and Scrapmetal).
Luckily for me I got knock off scrapmetal and long haul for 35$ from that one guy on eebay. I started heading to target a lot more because there could be accidental stocks. Meaning something has been stitting in the back for a while. I found rampage just yesterday and bone crusher about a week ago even tho they are extremely old. Maybe one day I might find long haul. I also got the knock off long haul. So if you want to display devastator and all the constructions individually then buy the aoyi mech knock offs.

I remember when walmart had many of the constructicons on clearance online. Many were $10 even voyagers, when I found out their after market prices I was really confused why they shot up.

I heard that dna design is making a upgrade kit for the studio series devastator combined form and it looks great!
I really want this. Sadly won’t be coming out in Canada till next month, or even December

Having collected them separately i was annoyed when I saw they were releases a “better” version as a boxed release, but seeing this I now don’t care. The few weathering effects it does have look terrible. The only bit you could argue is better is the head, but it’s barely noticeable. Still hoping for some third party accessories, like cables / weapons and scrotum.
Just saw shops here are asking £399 for this! I paid somewhere in the region of £280 buying them separately. That’s an insane mark up.
Missed opportunity to implement a decepticon logo on mixmaster’s vehicle mode

Scrapmetal's so popular compared to the other constructicons because NO ONE CAN FIND HIM. I think he was the first on released so people like me who got to collecting the team rather late missed out on him. I'm also having trouble getting long haul for a similar reason. Websites like BBTS are supposed to be getting new shipments of scrapmetal though so fingers crossed that the aftermarket price drops a little

Bro I have all constructicons except scrap metal but with my imagination I managed to make a hand out of Hightower and also bonecrusher in g1 is a member of the constructicons so with my imagination I managed to combine him with devastador
Hey just wanted to ask if your overload figures are still intact. I've bought 2 of them, both of them broke soon after I took them out the packaging in the same place (ratchet that connects the back to the arm on long haul's side. Still attached just no longer locks in place). I've ordered a third (lol unwise for my pocket) and hopefully that will stay. I thought at first maybe I was clumsy but with the second one I definitely was careful and it just stopped locking out of nowhere. I could just be very unlucky with QC, or it is an issue with the figure.
I skipped on the individual figures because I didn't trust distribution. But for this set, I caved in. I bought the set along the upgrade kit. MAN, was that whole set expensive but oh so EPIC!
besides mixmaster, the "dirt"on this set looks terrible.

2 get markers to paint whatever paint apps that are missing on the regular version that is on the pack

Out of curiosity, since you have both Devastators, can you make them symmetrical? Like one will have two Long Hauls or two Skipjacks, ect.? Or are the limbs interchangeable like the Combiner Wars figures?
Are the are the individual figures identical to the box set with different paint or are the box set ones smaller and a complete different moulds?
If I got the figure, I d be spending the whole day trying to transform them correctly
Who else agrees that the first set of constructiocons should’ve just been vehicle to robot, and this should’ve been vehicle to limb? That way it wouldn’t have been double dipping and they could put more detail into the models.
I've only just started collecting Transformers and I have to agree with you living in the UK it can be very hard to get hold of certain figures
I have a question, does Overload have the ability to give Devastator a waist swivel with this one, and is Scavenger able to move the top wheel independently from the head assembly?

I just got mine today and idk why but long haul was the hardest limb to get on
I have 2 of the Constructicons so far (Mixmaster & Scrapmetal), & I still would like to get the other 6/7 (I saw one of Rampage last year, but I didn't get him, I saw Hightower earlier this year, but I didn't get him, then when I found Mixmaster at one of my local retail stores during the spring & summer, they had Scavenger, but there was only one of him, so I didn't get him; the same retail store where I found Mixmaster had Scrapmetal all of a sudden a few months ago, but there was only one of him, & hearing him go for ridiculous prices in the aftermarket, I picked him up when I had the chance)

I don't even like Studio Series but i kinda want this guy and i don't know why.
I haven't been a big fan of the movies, but I will say that even the individual toys are (mostly) a lot of fun to mess with. Movie Devastator is almost a bonus.
I see they made another scavenger are we going to get an actual demolisher so many see them as the same but demolisher was white and I would rather have a white demolisher than getting the fist scavenger and the box set scavenger
Did you know that you can put Rampage on Devastator’s back to look like his screen accurate hunchback look. (If you have Skipjack).

This box made me go nuts when i saw this video
