It's amazing how basically hasbro knows that they can't afford to deliver these extra pieces, but know that the audience want them, so they leave these slots available so other companies like DNA design can deliver these extra pieces, and slide them into place nice and clean. Like they were meant to be there.

The kit really takes this figure from 80% to 90%. I suspect DNA will have to do one more pass to fix small issues with the original figures, but I'll buy that in an instant too. The one thing I didn't do was add the head attachment hinge, I like the way it connects originally.
It would have been funny if when he installed everything he just put the camera beneath him and played the Simmons clip where he says "I AM DIRECTLY BELOW...THE ENEMY SCROTUM"

Thank you so much for this video! Twas a nightmare to put together for me. I didn't do the neck part.. preoreded this from BBTS a long time ago and finally got it yesterday! Couldn't have done it without your guidance and Instruction. Spent 3 hrs putting it together.
I just got mine from BBTS yesterday. I wish I could get that chest plate to stay on..Other than that excellent.

I found that attaching the chest piece only to the silver peg and the legs instead of the head piece did wonders for its stability

Tfws bayverse thread has reports of the mixmaster connector bar has become very loose after several connections. Can't wait to get this set myself. Great job PvP. Edit: DNA flopped the kit in one aspect is that were missing the battleship turrets that are connected to scrapper and Hightower.
I personally just glad DNA design create this add on, nice addition point on movie devastator looks, just very nice indeed
as much as these upgrade kits help improve figures, i wish dna would start making them integratable into transformations. they used to do that, but i feel like theyve stopped. now the upgrade pieces are simply used in robot mode, and have to be removed if you want to transform any of them back

Great review of this DNA Design Upgrade kit for Studio Series Devastator. Because of your review, I managed to get this set and I just checked that the instructions do show you how the new shoulders for Devastator work on Scavenger's vehicle mode and robot mode.
I have this kit in reserve as this kit will make my Studio Series Devastator upgrade look more like from the movie!!!
DNA Design upgrade kit for Devastator looks awesome.
-I do wish that it came Mixmasters gun accessory was used on Devastator, and for weapon accessories for each Constructicon.
There is two more components they missed...
1. Yes, the ropes that High Tower has so they make the grapple hook effect.
2. In the movie, Devastator has a turret on his right arm (scrapper). It is hard to see but it should be on the part on when Mudflap gets sucked in by Devastator.
You can peg mix masters cannon onto the arm

The head IMO is definitely the best part of this set (Except the enemy scrotum of course). It just makes it so much more accurate and dare I even say it, the head looks so much better than the Devil Saviour version.

This kit is the reason I want studio series devastator
guys, just to add, for the crawling mode of the new hinge neck you need to move mixmasters arms in order to support the head. Guess thats why they move the truck head to another place. Clever!

Another great review!!! I was never interested on this kits but after you review them I have bought several. I preordered mine at BigBadToys is less expensive there. And it comes with the chest piece, gun and balls lol.

funny thing is that everyone who hate devastator's balls, now want to get them for ss devastator
They Prime. The instructions arent very clear on it but you actually have the head section mis-transformed. You have the connect the back wheel section of mixmaster to its original connection points (big red tabs between the wheels and small red tabs in the black clips) then with the new neck connection point giving three secure connection points so you can actually disconnect mixmasters wheel section from the cab and use his arms as a neck joint. This allows you to tilt his head up and recess it into the body. You can then use the legs of mixmaster to prop the head up in any position you want. I've had this kit for a while and it seems they took your "fan mode" into account. Also you can store the cannon in mixmasters drum.

You might wanna get the takars ss devastator. It might be more cheaper that way than get each individual ss constructicon sets.

They need to have Hightower’s elbow joint for combine mode tighter. I hate how when I bring it up, it mediated falls down due to the loose joint
I just tightened the screws a little. It's still kinda loose, but it holds better
Actually if you want larger missile pods and happen to possess a 3d printer, I happen to be designing some myself and will happily upload them to thingiverse

I'm sure everyone here knows this, but the "wrecking balls" are actually overhaul balls.
I received mine today. It was hard to add the pieces, but it was worth it
I like how the upgrade kit gives devastator a pair of devil horns.
This looks 10 times better than the standard release of the figure, I wasnt a huge fan of the blocky design hasbro went with on this figure, DNA has stepped up theyre game.
Dude, great video and very helpful, but I would imagine that you should’ve put the new components on first, before you start combining for Devastator

Nice video! Wow, this is an extensive kit, and yes, it integrates well into Devastator. I’m glad they included Mixmaster’s machine gun as well. Does the Future floor wax trick work on tightening the pins?

The wrecking balls comes with their Hightower. All it needs for that parts are compatible ports on that side of their overload when he is, inevitably released.
Great upgrade kit. I noticed on the parts of Scavenger that says "D & K" when In the film it said "O & K" which is a construction vehicle company. But I understand is for Copyright & licensing.

I would have shown it 100% but the kit has no effect in regards to that unfortunately. The head can’t hold up :(

Iam a G1 transformers fan,and I really h8 what m.bay did 2 them but I must admit this looks awesome 👌. I really like the Devil's Savior thats a real masterpiece, but this does look very 😎.(I know its a different scale) Nice 📹 brother 👍👍

I saw a Scavenger Rip-off with the accurate Armcolor a few days ago, these pieces make a big difference, looks great

That neck piece is there to make it easier and better looking to have devastator on all fours 👌
great review. just ordered this kit. it look great. i am hoping the neck piece is one of those "your mileage will vary" kind of things, if not it still looks like it enhances his look while standing upright. i don't have the room to display him on all fours so this works for me =) that and on all fours the abdomen piece is kind of pointless. so all in all i hope it looks as good in hand as it does in your review.

@@PrimeVsPrime just installed the kit =) i love the head piece, shoulders and door wings. the neck however not so much. i may remove it and put his head back on in the stock configuration. My wife actually laughed at the fact he has balls now lolol

so, they gave Mixy his cannon, but they didn't give us the wrecking ball for Scrapper? the original release had his left hand a static piece, & I was thinking that they would give Scrapper his wrecking ball on a chain so we'd have the advantage of recreating that quick/brief scene of him using it to attack Sam & Mikaela; if I'm not mistaken, there's a swivel joint on both his arms, which would allow for an extra arm to be made, meaning his arms are swappable, so Scrapper would have his mace/ball & chain weapon (& his original arm), & I think the chain itself would be articulate, which would be a smart move, 'cause that arm for Scrapper can double as the grappling hooks for Devastator when he's climbing up the pyramid
that upgrade kit looks amazing, devastator looks way better. id get it for the vortex grinder alone

Can not wait to get my upgrade kit, until it arrives I refuse to combine them.
Hopefully this works in the four legged mode.

@@PrimeVsPrime Yeah. Ever since I saw this review, if I picked this kit up, I would probably not install the loose neck part, because I also want to be able to have him crawling, but also look good. Get what I'm saying?
Interesting to finally get a good look at this kit. I was hoping to see a video so I could finalize my decision as to whether to purchase it. I will not be doing so, as I think that the negatives of this set almost outweigh the positives. And besides, $50+ for what is basically an accessory pack?!?!

Makes a huge difference
2 things that I think could've been added
1. Battle Damaged face plate
2. Solid elbow ratchet for Hightower
These are just my opinion, but I think a battle damaged face plate would look cool right? Nonetheless, I want to pick this up, mainly for everything except the new neck joint, everything else, I will probably install. I just finished Studio Series Devastator recently, and I like it a lot! Plus, this was a great review!

Oh sure, this gets released finally, but when are we finally getting DK-18??? It's been on pre-order for nearly 8 months now, and we've now had two full releases from this company since its announcement. Its like the Shockwave kit was just skipped over at this point.

I really think this kit was good, but there's questionable design choices that I might just design my own things.
The neck joint, I don't know why they bothered since a single pin joint would never be able to hold any figure. I'd just use mixmasters arm joints since those do hold him pretty well and remake the head piece to conceal the neck more.
Also the scrotum, would have made them bigger and used die cast to actually make them clang, and used a 5mm port to stick it on the rear of overload in place of skipjacks stand (that can store under the foot and not look that bad in my opinion).
Another pointless accessory to me is the tabs for mixmasters front cab storage, since at least with my devastator, the cab actually slots there easily by itself without any need to mis transform
Plus where are the grappling hooks for Scrapmetal (and possible scrapper)? Just need a clip to go over Scrapmetal's treads, opening grappling hooks and include small die cast chains and there we go. Can store on his shield. Or a new Hightower claw (already made this myself lol, though I wouldn't recommend putting it on his neck for combine mode). Ropes for Hightower might be a bit of an ask since Hightower articulates his arm and there would need to be storage for a wind up pulley, but would have been nice if it just covered the arm to the frame a bit.
And in my opinion some additional pieces for overload to make the dump truck mode look more symmetrical at the back could have easily been done, to cover the grey claws. Heck even a new Hightower head like Mechanical team have done which has the claw on the back, or even better, a shovel like devastator actually had.
Scavengers new plates, great addition, just wished they folded up a bit more for storage but eh thats me.
Overall, the kit is a great addition, but there are pointless accessories that DNA could have left out, and easily put more time into some other accessories. Wasted opportunities. Probably won't buy this but I can see why it is worth the cash.

sometimes i enjoy dna adding more things after the fact like mix master's cannon and the ab section both of which were not advertised on the showzstore listing so they're a cool editions

You can but it’s the same as before, the head still has no place to stay unless you mis transform the legs
