    great video I really want to do this. My 08 escalade has 135k miles and I want to do this but hear rumors if I do then I could probably have transmissions slipping, is this correct. Can you add a drain plug to the pan so you could drain in more frequently.

    Great video and content. Question for you, as you were flushing the fluid, which side was it coming out of? The cooler or the line?

    • @GearJammerGarage
      @GearJammerGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If I remember correctly it was the hard line attached to the top part of the radiator. I used 2 hoses because I myself didn't know what side it was going to come out of.

    I hope someone has an answer for this. I have an 07 escalade ext like this. Drives fine but whenever I've been driving for a while and everything's warmed up. Only whenever I find myself at a complete stop or slow down to single digit numbers and then accelerate to get back up to speed, my trucks Trans "slip" I think. But it only does it if I don't put good enough pressure on the gas pedal. Im not talking like putting the gas pedal all the way down, just a little more than u typically would. It only does it if I'm lighty pressing on it taking off like an 18 wheeler u know.
    Was wondering if I could be its the transmission fluid needs changing or do I need a new clutch or bad filter?

    Great video - Can you tell me the part number of the copper / gold barb fitting you used? or what you asked for at the parts store?

    • @GearJammerGarage

      I Googled " GM oil cooler barb" and found out Napa carries it. So does Summit Racing.

    To make less mess, could a suction tube/ pump be inserted through Transmission dipstick and pump out fluid that way?

      @@GearJammerGarage Thanks for the reply! There is so much inconsistency when it come to tranny drain and fill, flush etc. best practice procedures.
      Specifically, on our 07 Escalade , truck is currently at 167,000 miles. Tranny service records show last time had tranny service was about 80,000 miles. on this truck would I be ok to do a tranny pan drop, , clean pan and magnets, replace filter , and top off with fluid that came out of the pan (probably 5-7 quarts from what I have read) to re-introduce additive package? I’m not very comfortable with the continuously drain from the radiator tranny line until color comes out red, thank you..

    • @4Runner21
      @4Runner21 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Any thoughts on this? Thank you! Also with this approach, do you think it’s ok to mix new Full Sythetic ATF with OEM fluid still in the tranny system? Thank you!

    Never flush a transmission, ever, you will ruin it.

    • @GearJammerGarage
      @GearJammerGarage  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      A chemical flush yes, a fluid flush won't. I did it using the return line to replace as much old fluid as possible.
