I use Containerman68's method and I have several small blocks of wood covered with a fine cloth. The cloth will lay on only the top of the brick and when clogged with paint, you can wash it out. This tends not to get into the spaces between the bricks. this was taught to me by some older and better modelers than I am and I am grateful to them. Your way is great, mine is just different...

Thanks for the comment. Many ways to do this but the use of the cloth intrigues me. Maybe I'll try it next time...Harold

Would it help if the mortar paint was a little more watery, place the brick panel at a slight angle, apply the paint at the top of the panel and let gravity pull the paint down through the mortar grooves? If paint does end up on top of the bricks, use a sponge with windex and light pressure to remove the excess paint? Looking good!

All good ideas. I have a similar structure to complete so, I'll try your tips. Thanks...Harold

I've done the same thing except I used a cloth dipped in water. Had the same result.

Thanks for your comment. I agree. Actually, I used q-tips in the corners and under the windows. Just didn't show that part in the video...Harold
