I saw him perform this song with Fleetwood Mac a couple of years ago in Buffalo. I knew he was going to be there, and it still took me by surprise. I cried my eyes out!
My dad is a retired otr truck driver. I remember being like 7 years old and him bring this song home. Sissy you gotta hear this...great memories ❤️
Crowded House was on my dad's sound track (also a truckie), when I was allowed to go to work with him we would always belt out Something So Strong and also Cold Chisel Flame Trees and Bow River. Great memories.

The music out of Australia and New Zealand in the late 70s and through the 80s was glorious. The world saw some like this but missed so much more. Glad I was able to get to the pubs and clubs in western Sydney back then to enjoy that era.
This is MY FAVORITE 80’s song. By far. Beautiful. Tears for Fears Head Over Heels second. Thank you!!! Btw he became a member of Fleetwood Mac and still singing. Real artist right here.

Lead Singer ( Neil Finn) from Te Awamutu, New Zealand. Has a brother who together in the late 70's started a band called Split Enz, a great kiwi band, as is this one Crowded House 😁

Like Farnsey and Barnsey, as an Antipodean whenever I hear The Crowdies those Finm voices seer thru my soul. It says home, sun, good coffee, trams, memories of youth, 4 seasons in a day and the homely comfort of gentle Trans Tasman rivalry all rolled into a song.

Neil Finn is an amazing musician- I grew up listening to best of Split Enz and my big sister was a massive crowded house fan.
If you can find it, the Farewell to the Concert is amazing to watch. They also did a 20th anniversary concert of Farewell to the World in 2016 which I was lucky enough to go to.

You really need to check out their final show. I believe their last song at their final show was this one. It was a really good performance, and was emotionally moving as the band realized it was all ending.

This song is so appropriate for these times where certain factions of society are looking to drive a wedge between the common folk. I'll say it again- we live in a shameful period of our country.
