for me this would happen the i got a new pc it stopped happening for a while then a new xpac came out and it was a problem again repeat the cycle every few years
I remember when Star Wars the Old Republic came out, I wasn't able to run PvP at all. I would enter and be kicked for being afk before the loading screen ended. The not so good old days lol
I found a weakaura that sets this cvar and view distance on load up and reverts back to custom option after load. It's called "fast load" by schlag. Anyone else try it yet

Don’t use Weak Auras and turning add ons off and on aka switching profiles would take even longer. I’m good just waiting.
Loading in hasn't been a significant problem. The problem ia that once I'm loaded in, it takes 2-3 minutes for the area to populate.
Thats more due to internet ping time or the system suffering from slow memeory (either system or GPU memory)
yea i haven't played wow for years but when i played it kept getting worse despite me having a good pc for the time that could play newer game just fine the game is just buggy

@@Mysterious-Fox-01actually living in Paris, got the best connection i could, got a good laptop, takes me 3-5 minutes to load the city, the textures, the npcs and the other players lmfao
@@izicadet9819Are you sure that WoW runs on the graphic chip instead of the cpu? Laptops power saving modes and drivers often produce problems.
I already run with view distance 7 because it upped my FPS greatly lol. The console command was great though, thanks for that and the WA info!

you could also just put your HDD where it belongs, the past. and replace it with an m.2 drive.
I have my OS and WoW on my m.2 and noticed a huge improvement this last patch. Can't tell if it was WoW settings or Nvidia updating their video driver correctly. I used to never get more than 35 fps in Valdrakken or in a raid, since this patch, I get 60 fps all the time and my load times are a lot smoother. I hadn't touched settings or changed hardware.
I'm still using an i7-7700 CPU, 2400mhz DDR4 RAM 16 gb, Samsung M.2 Pro, Nvidia 2060 GTX video card
I had the same issue, I reinstalled the game, everything works now (I backed up my addons, the WTF and Interface folders)

Not exactly sure what I'm doing wrong but I cant get Warmup to work, I done with and withouth addons enabled including ELVUI
I used to have crap load times and the big fix (beyond having WoW on an SSD) is just removing all the addon bloat. WoW's default UI these days really doesn't need a lot to make it work.

The only time I've ever seen load times that fast was when i disabled all addons, LOL. I'm glad theres something to fix it! I did actually know weakauras was the biggest culprit too >.
TBH having good SSD and WOW installed on it shouldn't make a problem no matter how much addons you have. Ofc with a good bunch of RAM memory. I prefer to have 3-5sec longer loading screen than remembering to swap profiles in addons and reaload the game for that.
This video can be summed up by: if you have serious loading problems AND a whole lot of WeakAuras, disble the addon as much as you don't need it, and use the console command. Just that will half your loading times, I just tried the view distance and console command and load times are ~60% faster
Wish my SSDs were good... got almost brand new M2 NVMEs and every part in my PC is younger than a year old and WoW still takes close to 20 seconds to load in from the character select screen
The graphics settings distances, ground, etc, SSAO , depth, etc it’s what it makes hard to load, if you don’t care then wait 1min each instance, if you have power 5X RTX (future) then maybe don’t care but for mortals and other platforms (i game on Mac ) then you should care , distances only turn it max if you want a wallpaper , a selfie etc, for combat, rendering the stone side to the tree 3KM away, doesn’t help your combat, not even you will care if you see it, i do have Shadows at high, not ultra, Liquids (consume a lot of process even if your camera can’t see them) i use it at low, sometimes mid, depth and compute effects low, SSAO disable (its for sharper corners, like stairs or square things ) and distances, environment and ground 6,6,8 bc i like to see grass and details on ground when exploring.

I get by with recount, DBM, and raider io only. The UI addons always felt like more of a chore than was worth for me.
don't use recount, it's garbage, use Details.

How long do you think it took them to realize you can see the name of the character on the player frame
When i log in, my blizzard time manager is 4.6 seconds in the addon but when i /reload is 0.174. Is the addon actualy using the blizzard addon to extract loading times thats why adds that time or there is something wrong on my side ?
Keep in mind if you disconnect and try to login while in combat it's always going to take longer than usual.
Justtimed the hearth to Valdrakken from the Emerald Dream at 1:20, one minute and twenty seconds at lowered settings for 60fps.
My friends joked at me about how I only literally use just DBM and Weak auas for addons. I don't even have a DPS meter (why should I need one? I'm a healer/tank never a DPS). They actyually kept linking this video in discord.
As a healer I use dps meters to know who should get PI prio.
you should still use a DPS meter, just because ur a healer or tank doesn't mean your damage doesn't matter, it matters quite alot actually

So I did the console command, it worked. loading times shaved in half but now my Vigor bar wont go away no matter what even when I set it back to normal.
Only if you knew the loading screens from late 90's or early 00's...

I have a 10 min load time and I don't use addons it also hangs up a lot and I have to quit the client. That is in between pressing play and the client loading on the screen. For context i am using wow on a steam deck.
You might need to update your PC at that point, that's not normal

My load times are stupid and I don't use any addons whatsoever. On top of that, the game client crashes an average of once an hour or so. all in all, it gets really frustrating to okay wow these days.
idk but so far i haven't had much of an issue with load times. knock on wood i guess.

Disable addons, and clean your weakauras, each weakaura is just a small addon..

@@cronosdimitri4584 if you need 30 weakauras to play the game for you to do decent DPS, you should probably find a different game.

Do you have to do the console command for every character or just once on any?
If it's anything like using the regular graphics setting page, then it should be a one and done command. Have to experiment with your alts to see if you notice a difference with and without retyping it again.

I had no idea people had such long loading times. Mine is super fast, without this addon.
Your internet connection speeds also have a huge impact. If you're at a fiber internet or 500 megabits per second or higher, you shouldn't have much in the way of load times unless there's world latency.

Installing wow on good nvme resolved all the problems. It loads like 3-4 seconds with all the addons.
putting it on a non-system nvme is even better if you can afford that.

TLDR, Dont use a lot of addons, "they didn't test things cause it would take too long"

You really only need it to find out what is causing the most to your load times, then turn it off. It doesn't do any work for you. Did you even watch the video long enough?

Before watching : loading got so bad on my computer i had to stop playing the game. The fact that the game is slow because when you log in, you have to load every other players cosmetics + yours is killing me

I have to have my graphics for the game on max cause it looks so god damn good, and my loading screens are never a problem unless I was downloading a game on steam In the background or something
You do not need everything on max to make it look good.
All the people that used to say "Remove Elvui and replace it with individual WeakAuras to reduce resource usage" ... I always said that thats plain stupid. Now theres proof.

u know its bad when u need to disable addons to load the game faster…. but u need to download more addons for faster load times ☠️ just reset the entire game already, its like having a old ass man that fought in nam, ww2, and is nearing 100 years old, and u ask him to carry a 5 pound bookbag, and then every day add 1/2 pound to the bag every other day, and then u the kne that created this problem is surprised that he can barely hold up any linger after reaching 50 pounds, and when he falls and collapses, u STILL add more to the bag and ur confused as to why hes not moving or progressing to better places, god damn wow needs a insane reset and jus a whole new game and everything
