    Finally you get the Hamata! I'm excited to see how it evolves. Congrats! 👏👏👏
    I usually buy from online shops, but i bought a lot of plants from Ebay and i never had a problem with the plants and neither the growers. In fact, sometimes there are really good offers and really rare plants. I got my Bicalcarata and Ampullaria from a french grower on Ebay, that species are so hard to find here in Europe. And a Rafflesiana Kondo from Spain, it was a pretty nice deal, a big plant very cheap. And so with other plants, like Sarracenias, i got pretty good deals on Ebay too.
    So, i think it all depends on the luck. Maybe i got lucky and i got good experiences, and maybe other buyer will get the contrary. Just make sure that the seller is confiable and have a good reputation.

      Thanks!
      Good point about eBay.
      Maybe I'll do a test and do an eBay-Unboxing another time ;)

      I wouldn't bother doing an ebay buying theme personally. I am that guy who's had quite a different experience on ebay & I find seller's very much a complete random gamble what your gonna get with them. What I will say is they seem to be extremes on ebay so either extremely good or extremely bad & you won't often get a bargain deal on eBay. Usually you will pay the absolute maximum for absolute minimum. Sometimes buying seeds people will chuck in freebies but if they do they are just "mixed sarracenia" or stuff like that which isn't really worth much & they don't have the space to grow it or not good enough for them to waste their time on but too good to chuck on the compost heap so they'll give it to someone to solve the problem on what to do with it. I buy alsorts of plants & seeds & Iv had everything from half dead branches being passed off as a rooted cutting to seeds that 50% of the time are'nt even from the correct plant genus never mind species! Ask a question & you get angry, rude responses telling you how dare you insult them with such an outrageous question - even had one seller tell me to go away & learn about nepenthes, give my brain a chance to think or better still just shut my trap. All I asked was why do they send them bare root if nepenthes are sensitive plants which will get stressed by it. Apparently I was mistaken about them being sensitive but was uncalled for to be SO rude & aggressive. I don't think I'm going to bother continuing to try & buy on ebay coz it's too much of a minefield.

    I never have gotten Nepenthes specifically directly from another grower, but I did get several Sarracenia for my outdoor bog garden once. Those plants are doing well! I'd definitely buy from another grower who was active in posting about their plants on a forum/chat online. That's how I can tell they are reputable enough to buy from, they post about the plants like I post pictures of mine...

    I grow plants indoor. I think they are much better then most of the store bought. Here in europe you can't really find shops that grow plants, they just buy it cheaper and then sell it.

    I'm glad I found this video. Nice plants. I disagree with the "don't buy on ebay" thing. That's where I have met some of the best other growers that aren't on facebook and instagram. I have made a friend with a grower in the east coast. He has sold me lots of his plants on ebay and they are high quality stuff sometimes better than "official sellers/stores". We now talk privately through Email and we are doing a seed exchange. I asked him for some pollen and he was wonderful to send me more than one kind. I have pollinated my plant and will send him back seed pods of the types he donated. It is quite exciting and thanks to him I am like one of maybe five growers in the United States that has a nearly unheard of nepenthes that's yet to be classified. Yes there are scammers on ebay and anywhere else really. I've been on Ebay so long I know how to spot the scammers. I even sometimes buy from scammers "cheap" plants just to expose them.

    Love ur channel.
    I really like the Unboxing. since I can see estimate of plants(size and health and how they pack it) and who people get from/ trusted.
    Another thing I would like to see is the price of the plant. I understand the price might be a bit different from the same seller to different people but estimate price will be good.
    Another thing I was wondering is if you let sellers know You are making a vid, because for example on ur LGM and Brad vid U got bonuses from both sellers, but on TH-cam not all videos about unboxing (brad) get bonuses (especially small channels).
    An idea for vid how to pack plants for shipping if ur a seller. ;)
    Last thing can u grow heliamphora on windowsill or it only works for nepenthes
    Thank You
    keep up the great work

      @WindowsillNepenthes  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks!
      - For the price, I'll do it for shops but personal-seller... I'll have to ask them.
      - For "sending plants" it's a great idea! I'll keep in in my list.
      - For buying plant (pro or not) I think taking the time to discuss is the key. I was ordering from them before TH-cam, Brads and Willy always took the time to answer my question. And Especially on forum, they know I'm respectful, won't flame a noobe and is always active. I do believe it's being part of the "community".
      - For Heliamphora, I have a H.Minor on my windowsill... healthy but slow...

    i wanna asking, how long nephenthes can be survive from shipping while in box? and what should we do with nephentes when first time we unboxing? btw from my language, the meaning of "gunung lumut" is moss mountain

    • @WindowsillNepenthes
      @WindowsillNepenthes  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for the translation ;)
      It should easily survive 3 weeks of kept at room temperature.
      And after unboxing (and probably repotting), gentle light and good humidity for 1 week ;)
      Then increase the light to what you want.
