Pokemon isn't coming to switch 2 at launch Legends ZA will be for switch 2 but it will release in November 2025. Switch 2 will be in march 2025. Gen 10 is the next gen and will be HD-2D and release on the Switch 2 in 2027.

@@BluDino129 I never said the switch 2 was 2027. The switch 2 will be announced in September 2024, this year. There will then be a major showcase in January 2025 and then a release on March 3rd, 2025, less than a year away. POKEMON, specifically Gen 10, won't release until 2027. We need to give them time to work on the next generation and not rush everything like they did with Gen 9. GTA6 will likely come out before Legends ZA tho which will likely be a November 2025 release. To simplify things:
      Switch 2 Announcement: September 2024
Switch 2 Major Showcase: January 2025
      Switch 2 Release: March 3rd 2025
Pokemon Legends ZA Release: November 21st, 2025
      Pokemon Gen 10 Release: November 19th, 2027

@@UnknownAlias21 Just an educated guess based on what people in the community were asking for and industry trends.
1: People are tired of 3D Pokemon and are heavily nostalgic for the old school 2D style, namely Gen 5. Game Freak knows this.
2: People have criticized 3D Pokemon heavily, calling Pokémon's shift to 3D in Gen 6 "the beginning of the downfall" and claiming that making Pokemon 3D heavily limited and restricted Game Freak's work schedule and made making yearly 3D Pokemon games unsustainable, especially with the shift to HD and demand for better graphics following the Gen 8 pre-release controversies.
3: People are complaining about the games feeling rushed and incomplete compared to the older pre-gen 6 titles. (besides ORAS, which felt complete even if some corners were cut AKA the Battle Frontier) This is due to the rushed development of the games and the focus on getting the 3D models to work rather than making the actual game.
4: The only reason why X and Y and Sun and Moon were even able to come out as decent as they were and why ORAS ended up being as good as it was was because of the massive 4 year gap between OG Diamond and Pearl (2005) and Platinum. (2009) During this time every Pokemon game from Gens 4 and 5 were being worked on at the same time and they were ahead of the curve. This curve started thinning due to Gen 6's development being 80% taken up by making "future proof" HD 3D models for all 700+ Pokemon that existed at the time. This choice to make Pokemon 3D and make a "future proof" model for every Pokemon caused Gens 6-8 to release unfinished, though at least gens 7 and 8 were "fixed" with a third version and DLC respectively.
5: The backlash to Sword and Shield's graphics, which was largely just an upscaled Gen 7 with new lighting effects and without the 3DS compression, proved to Game Freak that the models they made for Gen 6 WERE NOT future proof. They tried to touch up the models for Gen 9 but that game was SUPER rushed only made in 9 months. In fact, I highly suspect that 60% of the game's content was generated with or assisted by AI. This includes some of the new Pokemon designs, the overall level design for the open world, the NPC designs, and even the code. The game being so unstable is because a large amount of the code, mainly the stabilizing code, is partially or entirely AI generated.
6: The obvious solution for this? Go back to 2D, but with an extra twist of HD effects and lighting. This is what the fans have been asking for since Scarlet and Violent came out to HEAVY backlash and criticism from the hardcore community. This will fix the problem with the 3D models and GREATLY speed up development and allow for more time to add more single player content and a worthwhile postgame. Also the game would probaly look better in the long run, as retro graphics are now in and AAA top of the end graphics are becoming a huge bane to mainstream game development. Instead of chasing treads in graphics, they should go back to the basics. Go back to 2D, but with the quality of life from a modern Pokemon title. Maybe try an "open map" style game like Octopath Traveler or the ROM Hack Pokemon Liquid Crystal where you can do events and travel anywhere in any order but the actual level design is linear and straightforward instead of trying to copy Breath of the Wild and failing massively.
Mainline Pokemon games almost always release in November. Therefore, it's obvious that Legends ZA will release in November 2025. Gen 10, based on the current, more spread out release schedule, will release 2 years later in 2027. Mainline Pokemon will be bi-yearly with spinoffs handled by different companies. Switch 2 will mirror the release of the switch 1. Release trailer shadow dropped on TH-cam in September 2024, Showcase in January 2025, release in March 2025 right at the start of the new fiscal year. Switch 2 will be a "new model" of the switch like the PS1 to PS2 and not an entirely new thing. It will be more powerful than the PS4 Pro but less powerful than the PS5. It will have 12 GB of RAM and have 1080p 60 FPS handheld on all games and 4K 60 FPS docked. The dock will come with enhancers. Non-OLED screen. Fully backwards compatible including with your eShop games as long as you link a Nintendo account. It will have music on the home screen and on the eShop.
POTENTIAL, VERY UNLIKELY: Miiverse will come back due to Nintendo dropping Twitter support. (Miiverse was discountinued because Nintendo didn't see the need for it when Twitter existed) Miis will become more prominent again due to Nintendo seeing how many people liked them due to Miitopia Switch selling insanely well. (the reasons Miis were so rare during the Switch era was because Nintendo wanted to move away from the Wii branding and the failure of the Wii U) Nintendo Switch Online will be discontinued. Online will be made free like with PSN and Xbox Live but to access the games you will need to purchase a "Nintendo Archive" subscription which is like Xbox Game Pass also being $10 a month or $100 a year but ONLY for legacy games and unlike switch online will also include GameCube, Wii, DS, and 3DS games. Not including Thousand Year Door, Pikmin 1&2, the first Metroid Prime, Skyward Sword, Miitopia, and Luigi's Mansion 2/Dark Moon due to receiving recent ports on Switch. The original SMRPG will be included a few years in since it's different enough from the remake and by then the remake will be a few years old. This is like when Nintendo added Link's Awakening DX to switch online recently despite Link's Awakening already having an HD remake on the same platform. TTYD, SS, Miitopia, and LM2 will not be added to Nintendo Archive due to the versions of switch largely being ports with some minor enhancements. Wii U games will not be included due to all of them (minus Xenoblade X and Nintendo Land) having ports on Switch.
Future games for Switch 2: (educated guesses)
2025: Super Mario Universe, (new 3D mario and spiritual successor to odyssey) Super Nintendo Kart, New 3D Kirby, new Fire Emblem, Xenosaga remasters, Pokemon Legends ZA is holiday title.
2026: Xenoblade 4 is big summer title, Super Nintendo Kart booster course pass, Splatoon Legacy, DKC Return of the Kremlings (new 2D DKC title by retro), Mario and Luigi Collection, Nintendo Switch Sports 2, Super Mario Party 2.
2027: Pokemon Gen 10 big holiday title, new paper mario that's a traditional RPG like TTYD, new fire emblem, Kid Icarus Uprising sequel, Kirby Triple Deluxe/Planet Robobot remakes, new Mario and Luigi
2028: New 2D mario is big holiday title, Super Nintendo Kart 2, Metroid 6, Super Nintendo Kart 2 booster course pass, new animal crossing
