like in vermintide anything can work as long as you're good with the base mechanics. Darktide is also an easier game than vermentide 2 IMO so fuck anyone that tells you not to use a certain weapon/build if you know how to use it
Yeah, I use B-tier stuff (zealot revolver, chainsword), I pull my own weight and I have fun. The game is easy enough, you can basically use whatever you want. Even in Maelstrom, the issues are the players, not the gear.
The shield is useful, but has less damage than the knife as a trade off. Just so long as you aren't one of those opgryns who spend every fight with his shield planted and not doing anything else you'll be fine.
I just watched this same fight from the person playing your Psyker. I was shocked to see the Daemonhost's health bar evaporate like that. I needed to be resuscitated after seeing it up close from your perspective. This is going to be a blast...an Ogryn grenade sized blast.
Between those flaming rounds, nuclear 'nades, and incendiary voice lines I can't wait to see the Ogryn cook. I love the fact that you can make chokepoints genuinely holdable for the rest of the team, making enough space to play.
I love that blocking ranged shots also counts for the "block or push enemies to taunt" talent. I can actually just walk into a room full of gunners and shooters with my shield up and they'll focus on me instead of my teammates who can sit and pick them off. I haven't tested if planting the shield works for this but I imagine it does. This talent alone could give shield planting an ever-so-slightly larger niche than the miniscule one it had before! At least until they hopefully make the shield special something better. Let me take out my ranged weapon with my shield, please?
I REALLY REALLY wish ogryn had a chainsword or chain axe as a possible weapon. DID YOU KNOW that cannonically there were Ogryn space marines? There were only 15 of them made. They were so insanely powerful that only Horus himself could kill them. They absolutely clapped any chaos marines they went up against. Really fun lore.
I like it a lot. Only complaint is that the nuke grenade looks too generic in the hand. I think they can do better with it's visual design... like an artillery shell rigged with a big black and yellow striped plunger switch or something.
Am un big an 'appy Ogryn! Bully voice lets out a fierce WAAAAGH! (The bestest warcry cause its from Ogryn's mighty spirit) when he goes full DAKKA mode and i love it! Extra rashuns for Indy-pal for the showcasing so many of the new toys we Ogryn's get to play with and the many voice lines Bully Ogryn roars out with the new Class Abilities!
I gotta say, in the clips where Indy was unloading his Ripper gun with his ult as he was backing into the Stormbird to extract, I could only imagine how horrifyingly painful it would be to be in a small, metal aircraft cargo hold while someone unloaded the equivalent of a FULL AUTO CREW-PORTABLE SHOTGUN right next to me. The reverb alone might rupture your organs, and your eardrums would just be completely vaporized. 🤯
If the game was like this at release i wouldnt have stopped playing. Only thing for me that it is missing now is a true solo mode where you can customized the bots like in vermintide 2, but looking forward to jumping back in.
At 6:12 he uses the ability, wipes out of squad of gunners and maulers, and has the ability back by the time it comes off of cooldown just from reloads and ranged kills That's hilarious

I really wish the game launched with this, and that the maps/story were also present like in v1/v2. The maps in this game get old fast, but hopefully these sub classes will spice things up for a little. It defo added a lot of replay ability to v2 with subclasses. Still wish the darktide maps/story were like v1/v2.
I dont know if incendiary was nerfed but the rending rounds are sooooo good against crushers and maulers and things, with the heavy stubber im melting crushers in seconds and ive found it to be much better for that than the incendiary's

sometimes, depends on the situation. lots of times when you're getting pressed you want the burn DOT immediately, and dont have time or dont want to empty your mag first
What class would you recommend for someone new to tide games? I was told zealot due to stamina management but i have no idea what the game even feels like yet so i really am still struggling to decide even after a year😂
@@smoothestofbrains i see a ton of people saying veteran but with how easy as veteran you can just stand and soak up bullets i think starting with veteran can instill alot of bad habits on a player just because of the way veteran plays.

@@infrared6973 I think the point that you can soak bullets with Veteran (which I'm assuming you mean damage reduction talent + indefinite career skill active duration) can be pretty hard to reach and if you still haven't learned to melee fight well at that point, whatever class you start out with won't really matter. I dunno, as @smoothestofbrains said, some people mix up how they play veteran. I sometimes like to dedicate the entire run to my las rifle, and other times I'll burst dps with a bolter and keep a power sword on hand. I think you're right that playing veteran in a team that consistently keeps mobs away from you can have a higher risk of leading to some undesirable dependencies cropping up, but there's no guarantee the same thing wouldn't happen when playing other classes. (speaking as a zealot who fell in love with her agripinaa braced autogun and now favors that over melee because it's fun to gun-kata)
I'm still hoping for the ogryn to get more gun lugger heavy weapon builds. Like a ogryn with an auto cannon or a laz cannon. Give some nasty movement penalties, but let them inflict insane damage with limited ammo supply.
perhaps now that vermintide2s final class is out they may be able to focus on darktide. it was sad seeing that mixed review score, hope they can pull it back up

I tried incendiary on rumbler and it seems like the only thing burning is applied to is the projectile. The explosion isnt burning anyone

Veteran is probably the easiest to learn. I would suggest starting with Veteran for shooting or zealot if you like melee

Dump your clip before your ult. It keeps your DPS high and skips a reload.
