Ok so is it recommended or is it a gmg deal when yours says eo2 and you think it's the motor so can you get new and install it and use old board ? Or does it mess up the new motor ? Not sure why I have to get both a mother board and motor ? It's a 2017 model I do believe please let me know asap

Thanks for contacting us. If you've verified the motor is bad, a new motor will work fine with your current control board. You can always run the auger motor to direct 12v power such as a 12v drill battery to make sure the motor itself is the issue. Happy to assist, keep us posted.

@@EarthSense ok well I stopped by a dealer in town here and called another one in a different city and they both said to replace the motor and circuit board.... Which I'm not sure why replace both.... I'm like if it works fine and one part failed then just get the failed part and keep going....

@@shaneh1050 Hey Shane, yeah that doesn't seem right to me. I would suggest you test that auger motor to direct 12v power both in the unit and out of the unit (Could be an issue with an auger bit/shaft jam - by testing it in the the unit and out of the unit should provide clarity if it's a bad motor or something else. Generally speaking if a motor has gone bad that does not indicate the need to replace the control board unless there was some kind of a short or power surge which is generally rare. Keep us posted with what you find, and on a side note GMG has pretty solid customer service and tech support so you can always call or email and run it past them direct. Glad we could help. Thanks.

@@EarthSense could I use a car battery or does it need to be a cordless battery ? All I have is Milwaukee m18 batteries ? Just curious I am a tech on green machines I was just going to be sure that was ok.

Did this reduce the noise of the Auger? I know mine is very loud.

Thanks for contacting Carl. Yeah, the feed motor in the latest Davy models does seem on my end to be louder than the earlier version Davy I have. If the noise is grinding or squealing, that would indicate a motor issue and should be replaced. If it's just a noticeable noise when it feeds, I would say that has been pretty normal/common. Any other questions please let us know. Thanks!

My pin on my auger fell out what's the easiest way to put it back in

Hey Andy, Happy to help. What I do is use a needle nose pliers to start the pin when you have the auger motor hole and auger shaft hole lined up (If they are not lining up, you can turn the auger shaft with a pliers to where you need it to be - easier without pellets in the hopper.) Once you have the pin started, I use a 5/16" nut driver, I place it over the top of the pin, and then I use a small hammer to tap the back of the nut driver until the pin is seated all the way down.
Let us know if that was helpful. Keep us posted.
      Thanks,

Were you able to check the movement of the auger shaft - Everything seem free and clear? Let's double check all the connections and movement of the auger shaft. You can run your auger motor to direct power using a 12V Drill battery. This way you can ensure the auger motor is in proper operating condition. If you are still getting that error code we may want to have your control board checked. Keep us posted, happy to assist.
