Great interviews Sam! My late wife was Bulgarian. She was also a Russian native speaker who grew up in Soviet Bulgaria. We were together for 18 years. It gave me a great insight into the culture and mindset. I could never go back dating a woman from my own country, let alone live with one. A really good video Sam. Really interesting. Russians are well informed when it comes to Western media. My wife always has an eye on what's happening around the world via Telegram. It's good you ask people these questions.
Any Russian who doubts the quality of their roads, should come to New Zealand and drive our number one highway. As for other roads, they are well represented here too. Climate usually means we don't have the same snow / freezing problems - so when it happens, it can catch us unprepared.
Absolutely agree with a girl that said that government should work on improving the weather and a climate! And give a free 5 days travel to the sea for each person. Every month.

@Channu_08: thanks for pointing that out, I can't believe I missed it, but now I can't unsee it ! Well, ppl in Russia are now as self confident and comfortable living there as ppl were in the US in the sixties and the technology and living standarts are noticable higher on average than in the sixties US. There are some strict boundaries, but they pretty much feel comfortably free in that frame set by the state which is way broader than in the CCCP. And they seem to be well educated because they can articulate themselves pretty good. Compare that with common ppl in the US who hardly find Moscow on a map....... To be honest, after a century of suffering Russia looks as if it has a found a balance between not loosing its identity and fully participating in the future,
I love it, Sam. Great video and people you interviewed are very intelligent. I should say that they display what the majority of Russian think on those topics raised. Very thoughtful and unbiased!
That man 8:37 is very wise. I fully agree. There might be people oriented towards same sex, just like there are people who are left or right handed, but today, a small section of the community is raking in millions of dollars pushing dodgy agendas on the masses- a lot of sexual orientation is driven by lust and is a lifestyle choice. Nothing new because in Rome people actually never disclosed themselves as gay yet it was common to have relations with men and women simultaneously. The key is- you don't ask people who they have sex with- so as long as they don't impose their values on someone like me- neither should there be discrimination nor over indulgence.
This was really interesting. Thank you Sam for asking the hard questions. What I see and hear is that we are all so different. These people clearly shows that. They have different opinions about everything just like in the rest of the world. I have same opinon as some of them in one question then I don't agree with the same persons on another question. And that is how it supposed to be. We don't develop if we aren't different.
@@SamsRussianAdventures That's really good.

Thanks! Their opinions are not based on political correctness but on what they actually think!
Well we have crime anf addiction. but not going through the roof.
This was the best video I have watched from you, I do like your other stuff it's very benign or neutral, but this has gritty, full of information and opinion that is stimulating , how the conversations are edited is interesting too, I feel that I can share this on Twitter.
One of the people the young lady interviewed outside was really smart she was on to something, I liked her and the way she thought.
Wow, thanks! I liked this video too! It was a lot of work and I worried that it could be too true for youtube. They don’t like reality.
@@SamsRussianAdventures it was professional looking.
The young lady you spoke to outside in the black coat Sam was intelligent and correct in her comments especially what she said about the US.
My 10 year old daughter made my day this morning, asking me almost with tears in her eyes:
- Why are they going to replace Putin with somebody else, Dady? Why they do it?
- Who told you that?!!
- But there will be elections in a couple of weeks!!
- So what?
- We will have a new President, that's what!
- ......
- I don't want a new President, Dady! Putin is so good at it!
- Don't you worry, sweetheart! Putin will stay.
- Are you sure? How do you know?

A really good video Sam. Really interesting. Russians are well informed when it comes to Western media. My wife always has an eye on what's happening around the world via Telegram.
It's good you ask people these questions.
Any Russian who doubts the quality of their roads, should come to New Zealand and drive our number one highway. As for other roads, they are well represented here too. Climate usually means we don't have the same snow / freezing problems - so when it happens, it can catch us unprepared.
Finland have same snow problembs but roads in Findand are ok
Very good video Sam, a bit different. Nice to see a few [ regular ] people giving their views on these questions.
Absolutely agree with a girl that said that government should work on improving the weather and a climate! And give a free 5 days travel to the sea for each person. Every month.
@user-rp7wi5mk9p
Strange that theyare more open to answer political questons than personal ones!
Haha, it's cultural thing. A person must trust another to answer personal questions.
Cause personal questions are - surprise! - personal. Politics is much more general topic. Like economics, culture, philosophy, fashion, music and so on.
16:53 what happened to the subtitles?!
Okay, so this is a much more interesting video than many or most of your others. Or, at least to me anyways. And kudos to your willing participants for opening up and giving us the opportunity to learn what’s going on in the heads of a percentage of the Russian population.
Don’t know what happened there! Sorry about that
Oh, great, Sam, spring is coming, I'm glad to see you!
Well done Sam, quite possibly your best video yet, I hope the number of views will reflect this. Cheers from OZ mate.
I noticed the bloke with the beard had a halo. I found it appropriate for him and his opinions 😁
Haha we took a photo of him underneath it!
The halo over the beared man was poetic
@Channu_08: thanks for pointing that out, I can't believe I missed it, but now I can't unsee it ! It reminds me of moment from a movie (either 'Nightwatch' or 'Daywatch') when a man is on the phone and appears to have an illuminated Red Star on top of his head. Then he finishes the call and the Star turns out to be on a building in the background.
He talks about the government covering up failures, but says he’s still voting for Putin….i don’t think he’s a candidate for canonization.
@@GeraldBeagan-ee6se Show me a single government on earth that doesn't "cover up failures". Just ONE.
I noticed it too 😇 😄
Well, ppl in Russia are now as self confident and comfortable living there as ppl were in the US in the sixties
and the technology and living standarts are noticable higher on average than in the sixties US.
There are some strict boundaries, but they pretty much feel comfortably free in that frame set by the state
which is way broader than in the CCCP.
And they seem to be well educated because they can articulate themselves pretty good. Compare that with
common ppl in the US who hardly find Moscow on a map.......
To be honest, after a century of suffering Russia looks as if it has a found a balance between not loosing its
identity and fully participating in the future,

I really enjoyed listening to that woman between minutes 10 and 14.

I think it’s because these people have their own opinions rather than feeling that they must answer the politically correct way.
@@SamsRussianAdventures That's really good.
