Im still trying to play through God Eater Resurrection tho, i didn't finish God Eater Burst back then after all, I started Rage Burst accidentally tho not knowing there was a Resurrection first, so i didn't continue with rage burst until i finished Resurrection
From a person who came from God eater then switched to Monster hunter. I'll give you the reason why no one really plays GE (God Eater). First from a gameplay perspective. I started with GE Burst, and I loved the gameplay. It's your typical anime hack and slash open world game with a somewhat "decent" story. Graphics weren't the best (Comparing it to Monster Hunter Freedom Unite) and sadly without realizing it at first. The gameplay was EVEN more repetitive. Yes the Monster Hunter was hella repetitive too but it's somewhat different. From combat to map interactions, they are worlds apart. Now let's take a look at GE2 Rage Burst and GE3. Sadly even GE2 was my favorite. It still continued the same mistakes from GE Burst. The game itself was bland as well as the MAIN story since it's literally a copy and paste from the first game. Although character episodes kept me playing but after that, it was pretty much over. GE3 on the other hand was somewhat a "trying to fix" phase of the franchise. Yes graphics are somewhat better now but you just don't get much hype from it plus (PERSONAL OPINION) the story was WAY shorter than the first two entries. The whole series itself is more of a visual novel kinda feel but with interaction rather than a game itself. If I compare the story of GE and MH of course GE wins by a landslide (Since MH has no story lol) but of course this is all my personal opinion. TLDR -Repetitive game (even more repetitive than MH) -Bland story that repeats itself (excluding GE 3) -Combat is not satisfying -No room for replayability (unless you just keep on starting a new save) -This is my personal opinion (as a person who played GEB, GE:R, GE2:RB, GE3)
As a person who play both MH and GE they are pretty much the same hack and slash monster hunting game, and maybe the difference was the story that drive the game where in GE makes it more interesting, but MH have more content in mechanic and monster while GE had less even in the latest GE 3 it still lacking of the latest MHW wich are in the same generation where MHW also put story inside and the game have more to offer. But still the GE story and lore is something else I must say, and with proper and mature future development of new game franchise it might surpass MH, although recently MH franchise is looking more promising

I be telling people that God Eater is so goated and seeing it posted in 2022 is hitting different. If only the series got more love maybe the anime could get a second season diving into The Shio, Lindow and Nova arcs. Heck, maybe an extended version of God Eater 3 (GE3Burst) or a new game period.
I played the games, loved them and bought them recently for pc. But the anime had a different touch, loved it, sure i can continue the story in the games but, having an anime of it was rly awesome, made me look forward for the weekends to watch a new episode, wished they continued
kinda sad that god eater and code vein are not "officially" same universe.... you can see a vajra in a late game cutscene of code vein, and there are cosmetic DLCs for code vein that have god eater items. i just like the idea that different pockets of humanity figured out different ways of dealing with the monsters. god eaters and code vein with their revenants.
Just played God Eater resurrection thru my ROG Ally via Steam and damn was this underrated game. I first played this on my PSP and never knew there was an anime and manga to it! I'm now at Difficulty 10 after rescuing Lindow from the Black Hannibal and i've spent like 50hours+ worth the $5 purchase in steam spring sale all bundled with god eater 2 and god eater 3

Well I’m saying half because Dyaus Pita vs Lindow wasn’t a final moment in the story arc, more like the beginning or half cut of the Aegis/Nova arc. Plus, this version of Dyaus Pita did end up in the remake of GEB which is GE Ressurection
But honestly, I love what they did to Pita in this anime. Really giving the reason why he has more human face. At least that’s the vibe for me. Just wished Privthi Mata was there as well along with Dyaus Pita
What I don't like about the series is having all these compelling NPC backstories but the player character interacts so little with them in the anime and game. Personally, I want to romance either Sakuya or Alisa (yeah I know she's 16, but with that world being the way it is, it might as well be as it was in the medieval times) but nope, powah of friendshit it is... After finishing Fallout 4, how I WISH I can play GodEater like I did after beating the main story in Fallout 4... I want closure.

Honestly god eater started out as a spin off of monster hunter, but when you think about it has SO MUCH POTENTIAL to grow into its own niche.
