Glaring mistake, John Dillinger was NOT shot in a lobby but in an alleyway as he was leaving a cinema, this is well documented, it's a shame the scriptwriters can't do their research.
It's crazy how Martin Sheen looks and sounds so much like Charlie and Emillio. Or is it the other way around? The apples didn't fall from the tree that's for sure.
So Dillinger was getting out the game, when he was forced to do that job for Capone. That's why they say, "find a way to make it out the game", because there will be something trying to pull you back in. So Dillinger found a way to make it out the game. Good for him. And lived the longest.
Movies are based on incidents but a lot of times not exactly what happened. John Dillinger was shot in an alley in back of head by FBI agents. He was coming out of the Biograph movie theater in Chicago when he was shot in the alley
Interesting/informative/entertaining. Some what realistically portrayed citizens/criminals/law enforcement officials. Facts added with fiction keeping the viewers 👀interrsted in this presentation-!!!🤗. Enjoy viewing 👀 automobiles/steam engine locomotive/telephones/women's hats of that era-!!!😉. Enjoyable free TH-cam film to view this. While baking a few banana/cherry breads-!!!😋. Wonderful spacious/relaxing mansion to spend quality time in-!!!🤗. I got half way nice cars nice scenes wasted on a stupid movie. ZZZzzz I came from Tess now that's a well made film great casting, mesmerising scenes, scenery and based on a true story of the last female hanged in England.
The BBC did a documentary abt John Dillinger. Dillinger had gray eyes, he was also vy athletic. The man shot outside the Biograph Theater in Chicago, who was supposedly JD, is a little different. The man the FBI shot had brown eyes, he had Rheumatic Fever as a child. So this man could not hv done the things Dillinger was capable of. For one thing, he could never hv escaped FM Little Bohemia shootout with the FBI. Another point. The deal Anna Sage made with the FBI had a vy important condition. The FBI had 2 kill Dillinger! Not arrest him. Also, the finger prints taken of the supposed corpse of Dillinger did not match Dillinger's prints. It wasn't until abt a week later tt the FBI was able 2 match the finger prints. This is just something 2 think abt.😊
I only watched the first minute or so. Dillinger wasn't going into the theatre, he had seen the movie and was coming out with the woman in red, which was actually orange, but looked red under the theatre lights. He wasn't shot in the theatre like the film showed, he was in the ally next to the theatre, and was unarmed when he was shot in the back.
I am sure they met in a place named Wirt Minnesota, at the lodge owned by 2 brothers, Charlie and Frank Pondilikl. I got a call one day while I was vacationing, from a friend who was a friend of the brothers. He needed help to move a huge teak headboard from what was left of the lodge after it burned down. The item was Dillinger's personal handmade headboard. Wider than King Size and weight of over 200 lbs. The lodge had several stories with 3-4 suites on each floor. Each suite was owned by one or another of the gangsters of the era. Dillinger was one as was Capone, Kelly and others. I went to school with a great nephew of Dillinger. He told me part of the story and I told him about the lodge. It was his family, so I was told that came to collect the headboard. The area is close to Grand Rapids MN. Home of Judy Garland. BTW, my last name is Baum. No relation of course.
Geez,..really?Dillenger was not shot in the theatre!!He was confronted ,outside the Biograph theatre, ran,to his right, started to duck down an alley....and that is where he was killed!!!
my real father was a bookie for raceing dog's and horses. and he did work for the real al - capone ] he passed away when he was 66 year's old. amen******** by : artist } james cameron,***************
Saying John dillinger lived and it was his brother but then saying al Capone was well enough to team up with each other with all that money it's push my imagination to the limits
The shooting took place in an alley outside the Biograph. And the photos of Dillinger's body taken in the morgue do not show any sign of a final head shot. But at least the producers got Dillinger's name spelled right.
Remember, this is Hollywood. The truth doesn't matter as much as dramatization. I saw a film where the Americans retrieved the Enigma machine from a German U-Boat. In reality, it was the British, but that wouldn't sell as well to patriotic Americans.
The best mobster was Frank The Enforcer Nitti. You just can’t compare him with anybody he was the powerhouse of Capone family. Frank died Capone lost his legacy in Chicago
@Sunson Joseph. Paul Ricca actually had Nitty under pressure! When big Al went away it was Paul Ricca who was really calling the shots! Just sayin! 🤷🏾♂️
Well, this is a twist on one end you have Al Capone on the other John Dillinger and in between Arthur Treacher the English butler and who's chasing them? Former FBI agents Abbott and Costello! Despite all this very enjoyable!
Sheen's role is not convincing in this low budget! I'm sure some young whippersnapper will be offended I said this...but I studied a bit of film in my college days.
That's becos after the year 2000 onwards, Hollywood been feeding u ppl with shit of low class and low life actor or actress that's why u felt that Martin sheen dose not play the part, I find it he plays the part.
I agree wholeheartedly with you!!! This movie is totally historically inaccurate, the casting for Al Capone is laughable. I mean the actor bares not a single semblance to Al Capone lol... In a short statement, this movie is pure shit!!!
Kor 82 I mean, I get your point. But it’s just a stupid concept for a serious film, at least it’s trying to be. It’s like if you had a film where Hitler started working with Sadam Hussein and it wasn’t a fucking comedy.
Kor 82 I enjoy films like Bonnie And Clyde from ‘67, Baby Face Nelson from ‘57, Dillinger from ‘73, or even the Untouchables tv series from ‘59 to ‘63 despite its major historical inaccuracies. But, they have people from the same time period and who were still in the same scene. Fiction is fine, but in instances like these, it just doesn’t work cuz Dillinger and Capone aren’t even criminals for the same reasons or in the same kind of gang. A better fiction choice for two mobsters in a fiction would maybe be Charles Luciano and Capone
Gotta make some money! Now - is this not about Dillinger after supposedly having been assassinated by the Feds; so - then - ostensibly - the Fed vehicle would be contemporary and the older model cars driven by impecunious denizens??? I enjoy the acting of Murray Abraham and Martin Sheen: both needed money at the time. A bear will come down the mountain when he is hungry - like the Old Man of the Village said in The Seven Samurai!
If anybody cares, the swingy intro song and the bits throughout the movie was a song called "Sing Sing Sing" by drummer Gene Krupa. He usta play it on his TV show as well. How do I know? I practiced those drum licks until I could puke.
While I will admit it's disgusting and scandalous I defy you to show me this "Load of crap" that I'm supposed to know! Where is this crap? Put your crap where your mouth is!
OMG, what is this film, pure fantasy on drugs? In the first 90 seconds they have Dillinger shot to death in the theater lobby! Oy. Can't watch another second.
But all in all. It wasn't a bad!!!!!! Move! !!!!! I know about Al capone because every time i had a chance i read about him u have. Listen to Al capone real nice. She tell u things u would of never know!!!

In other movies, Dillinger died in an alley, not in the lobby of the theater.
The score sounds like it was pulled directly from “The Untouchables.”

Good flick.. thanks fot uploading
Dillinger was a bank robber and I doubt very much he ever meet Capone or any of the big time bootlegger gangsters.
The mob hid them, souped their cars. Modified their guns, they hid out in chi all the time ( for a fee of course)
Very possible occasional money💰 laundering was conducted with Capone's organization-???🤔.
Geez,..really?Dillenger was not shot in the theatre!!He was confronted ,outside the Biograph theatre, ran,to his right, started to duck down an alley....and that is where he was killed!!!

Terrible casting for Capone and Dillinger! And I don't think they ever met let alone worked together.
