    Just saying, I think all carriers should have the "fast launch/dock" like the boron carriers have.
    It would make the Raptor soo much more usable, if they actually got launched out of the front and the "docking" areas actually floated above the back entrance.

      That's why I love the shark. Fighters launch fast. Plus, barracudas a tanky on the shield side. You're giving up two weapon slots but you have more explosion survivability and it's the torpedo you want anyway.
      Also, the shark is arguably one.of the tankiest ships in the game. You are giving up quite a few turret mounts though.

      All of the base game carriers have launch tubes, which are much faster than boron carrier

    Hello,
    Have you experimented with using the 'Attack surface elements' command with the torpedo Chimeras? I am in the process of freeing Yaki, so I need to clean a few sectors from Xenon, and because of the braindead AI, my 40+ Destroyers won't cut it..."

      Hi,
      Can't say that I have, but I did experiment taking down a xenon station with 100 Chimera (60 torpedo+40 missiles): th-cam.com/video/S81VzjYaJV0/w-d-xo.html. By the end I've lost 12 torpedo Chimera + 3 intercept Chimera. So, I think it would work, but you would take some casualties.
      So, I think you would be better of using my tactic for station demolition: th-cam.com/video/ynRRGVrOFFI/w-d-xo.html, and use the torpedo Chimeras at what they do best, taking out xenon capitals.

      Sure, you can always take the "wheal" of any fighter and join the fun. 😁
      Actually, this is how you often start the game, just you and a small ship, and in time, you end up sending hundreds in to battle. 😉

    Yup yup, 100 fighters all loaded on a single ship is a force to fear. I still find them bothersome when dealing with enemy I's or stations, I'd rather bring my own destroyers to do the single target dps.. especially against stations, cos I can't be bothered with launchers. Blast mortars could do the trick maybe but I haven't tested how well 40 ships armed with those guns would work.

      And the best part of it, when "bussines" is done, all "birds" land in the "belly" of the beast, and you only have one ship to move around, and that save a lot of agravation when crossing hostile sectors, as opposed to doing the same with an conventional fleet, that has the slow aux ships, for example, or the subordonates that are famous for not staying in formation or in close proximity to the fleet leader. The only thing carriers + fighters combo can't do is dealing with stations (efficiently).
      As for BMs, I did my fair share of tests. This is one example: th-cam.com/video/0mnnf3SRAFQ/w-d-xo.html, and this is with Chimeras: th-cam.com/video/xRgRlZNaKBk/w-d-xo.html.
      Also did a station demolition test: th-cam.com/video/9OkaqO8v91Y/w-d-xo.html, maybe would had worked better with Chimeras.🤔

      @@ragnos28 Yeah I feel the pain with slow ships, that's why I never move them myself. I always give them a command to get close to the position I want them to do something, I ignore them for the next 30 minutes or forget them for a few hours or days, and then proceed to play RTS and make the fleet do what I wanted it to do originally.

    The Shark has 12 M Class Docks. Do you use Hydras on The Shark? The Hydra has weapons that can Take down a big Xenon I fleet. My Shark Survived Xenon I very well with 2 Ray and without Rockets.

      I don't use M ships asign to carriers because M ships taking off and landing on carrier take a HUGE amount of time. Just order a single one to land and you will see what I'm talking about.
      Also I can say that I have zero interest in OOS, in part, because I did not spent 1.500 euro for a PC capable of playing X4 to watch green dots doking it out with red dots. So I need things (ships, tactics, etc) to function IS.

      ​@@ragnos28 OK, IT depends on how Manny ships are launched. If all are Out, IT IS a little Bit slower then 64 S Class ships. Besides The Shark can hold 80 S Class ships. I will Test that today.

    What is the loadout of the Chimeras?

      bombers have 4 gatling + 1 torp launcher and interceptors have 4 gatling also + 1 smart missile launcher (that don't get used that much).

      Very interesting, I'll definitely try it, I've only used Chimera as an interceptor so far, Dragons aren't that effective

      Sure, my test of Chimeras with BM was a succes: th-cam.com/video/xRgRlZNaKBk/w-d-xo.html , is just that I avoid using tech that the factions don't have acces to, my split must use only split tech, that sort of thing.
      I don't like Pulsars, how they look , their frail stats...I think the Chimera has more hull (6.100), that the Pulsar have hull+shields (even with terran shields), plus, they are slow.

      @@rawrmcsaurs6052 Yeah, everybody is smitten with the 6 guns, until you lose the entire wing to explosion dmg.
      Now, I did not use pulsars, but I did used Quasars (a fighter that I actually like how it looks): th-cam.com/video/Sm1qLEC9Dgc/w-d-xo.html , once they pop they never stop...😐
      No, you need that hull and that shield, and most of all, speed, both for interceptors and bombers.
