Thank you for making this video. I have a 70 Torino cj that I am restoring and need to rebuild my pump. I took this pump apart years ago and had no idea what I was doing. And of course I did it wrong.... And how. This tutorial you have shared is worth its weight in gold to me. Thank you again for sharing your knowledge with other who are inexperienced with the rebuilding process. You mentioned your rebuild kit? how do I contact you to have one shipped to me? Please let me know.
Thank you for the kind words, and I'm happy that I was able to help you with your pump. You can contact us by phone at 781-335-8860, or visit our web site at www.then-now.com
I'm sure we do. The casting number 0-2830 covers a few different pumps. Carter used that particular body casting and then used different fuel castings and arms to enable the pump to fit many different engines. There should be a number stamped into the mounting flange that will better identify the pump. Could be anywhere from 4 to 7 digits long.
I need one for a marine carter 0-2208. Or possibly replacement. Came of my 1990 OMC king cobra with a 454. I've seen a few similar ones on amazon but may need reclocking. This is new to me.
I must ask you how the heck did you get that rocker arm pin out lol ? you edited out the part I needed lol I have a original 3 port Carter single action fuel pump for a 1964 Lincoln continental 430. its frozen stuck and won't slide out. should I soak it over night in something ? and also a rebuild kit I ordered from eBay didn't come with valves or the exact same springs or valves and definitely isn't the kit I needed . I need a Carter 0-2208 rebuild kit please .
I have a video where I show that pump being done. When I get one of those pumps where the pin is stuck like yours, I attack it from the other side. You'll have to drill a small hole at the opposite side of the casting and drive the pin out. I do it quite often on those Lincoln pumps. After you get the pin out, you can fill the hole you made with JB Weld, or any other kind of epoxy. I left a link in your other question showing one of those pumps being rebuilt. The kit we make for that pump is number CK-127M.
I went on the website and I was unable to find the correct fuel pump kit the valves look different I have been able to find additional markings on the casting 259.52 top casting stamp , 118-258 &44 Under the top cap of the casting number
A neighbor said “That pin is pressed in and not serviceable” is that true ? Clearly you took it out but why is my neighbor saying that it’s not serviceable? I think he’s jealous because he has a Nova .
Excellent Video.. Ordered my kit CK-137 1 day ago.. This Video was has been extremely helpful! Can’t wait to get to work on mine.
Outstanding step by step explanation. You should add your website and phone in the description field. It is in a comment below.
